  1. I bought an interrail pass on the black Friday sale. I think you can only have 1 day for outbound journey in home country, and 1 inbound day. Reason I mention that is the sleeper would be 1 day and then you’d be using UK travel again the following day for Eurostar so that wouldn’t work - I don’t think. I am going to check that to be sure though so will report back. We currently plan to go Glasgow-London 6:30am on 12th. Eurostar at 1pm gets us to Cologne 6:15pm. Train the next morning to Munich.
  2. A few of us booked in Mainz. Think it can be a bit quiet from what I’ve read, but only 30mins on train into Frankfurt and within reach of Koblenz, Bonn for day trips. Proximity to Frankfurt is the big bonus though.
  3. Just spotted it last night mate and took a screenshot with a view to posting back on here but you’ve beat me to it. 👍
  4. I have my eye on the Spain-Croatia game as well. Bit of a jaunt the day after the opening but would be good to go to Berlin and the Olympic stadium during the euros.
  5. Thanks mate! That’s the technical answer I’m looking for! 👍 We have Interrail pass, but don’t want to consume a day of it if not necessary. Will prob get a Deutschlandticket anyway just to cover us either way. I see that the RE trains from Cologne-Gelsenkirchen take the same time as ICE more or less so easy to sort either way.
  6. Hi David, don’t suppose you know if Cologne is in the catchment area for the free match travel to/from Gelsenkirchen? (planning to go up for Spain-Italy the day after our game).
  7. What’s the worst case scenarios for Netherlands venue for travel to/from Amsterdam? Booked last week, arriving morning of match and back early next day.
  8. I see that the main fan zone is up at the old Olympic Park but don’t imagine the 10k with match tickets will be heading there. Where are folk likely to congregate in the city over the course of the day? I’m sure ever bar, bier Keller and Biergarten will be rammed. What about city squares? Marienplatz??
  9. Couple of games over in Leipzig I fancies but it seems a bit out of the way for our games. If we’d ended up playing there I was looking at staying in Dresden which looks decent.
  10. After starting this thread, the closest thing we have to a ‘base’ is a few nights in Mainz after the opening match. Easy reach or Frankfurt with good links to other cities if we end up with ballot tickets for other games. Also good to hear of other folks chosen places. Might try for a day trip to Bonn or Koblenz.
  11. Bought the Interrail pass a couple of weeks ago. Probably go Glasgow-London-Brussels-Cologne on the 12th. Early start should get us to Cologne for 6.15pm. 9am train next morn gets us to Munich at 1pm on the 13th. Cannae wait! I’m ready to go just now. 😆
  12. Despite your suspicion 😂 … the kids (on 10 points) will be receiving codes tomorrow - so would in effect be passing their own code to themselves (using an overage UEFA account). So the code is not actually being passed from person to person, but technically would be to try and get round the U18 buying restrictions.
  13. Is anyone willing to anonymously (from the cover of your username) admit to sharing codes with anyone? And whether they worked? Reason for asking - mate has 2x kids on 10pts tomorrow, but he’s already purchased his own. Only way I can see would be the kids to create spoof over 18 accounts - based on the ‘if’ the codes could be shared. (I know against the rules)
  14. I’m with Kumnio here. I think it’s wholly appropriate that they give an indicative figure, which they did. So many people asking and wondering how many were likely to be available. I’d bet that them pushing that info out on a few tweets saved them umpteen email responses to people asking that question.
  15. Have any of the games sold out yet? Anyone know?
  16. Almost 20% of 12+ pointers didn’t buy yesterday. A large proportion of that 20% average is likely 12 pointers. Dropping a tier today, people less likely to attend aways and higher prices. Fair to assume that way more than 20% of 11 pointers won’t be going. Hence not such a scramble.
  17. I’ve seen people on fb suggest that they’ve contacted UEFA with this scenario and they will link the games you have a common category. Edit: just seen others beat me to it with this info. Any more success stories with this? We have this scenario in our group but haven’t contacted uefa yet.
  18. Same thing happened to a mate yesterday. Think he tried Edge browser instead of chrome and it worked but not sure.
  19. Hopefully they’re guessing. They shouldn’t have been told feck all in advance of us being notified. (Just another minor moan)
  20. I think the thing about tiered release is the lack of precedent. It’s not an absurd suggestion, but would potentially be an unreasonable time to do it for the first time. Yes, tiered releases are normal, but they’re based on ticket availability rather than pricing tiers of tickets. Perhaps something SSC should address at renewal point.
  21. Was assuming it will be tomorrow or more likely Friday for the sale. Also, can understand them not rushing the comms now - they’ll be shitting it to make another mistake. Can imagine this will be getting proof-read a few times before they confirm what’s happening now.
  22. Have you caught up with latest email that sale is delayed?
  23. Hadn't got as far as looking at the website but I have downloaded the planner phone app. Agree - the website planner isn't the clearest. It looks like the first 'destination' you need to put in is maybe your starting point? Then you add each destination from there. I think it's only really a pricing tool to be honest if you're looking at the same thing as me. It's taking your itinerary that you input and working out what the optimal pass is for you.
  24. Ye of little faith! 😂 It is a lot of money, but think it needs a bit of context with the level of event it is and comparison to what folk pay for concerts or other big sporting events. Look at going to el Classico, or a day out at Wimbledon or the US Open.
