I thought we looked better when McGregor came on because he actually did do that and stopped the constant lumps up the park.

As soon as Tierney was out Forrest/Fraser should've been in at RWB, less need to worry defensively with a central defence that's going to stay put more.

Yeah. I think so, too. People might have a go at McGregor, but sometimes you need someone who does the simple things and keeps possession. Jack is a massive miss, and it showed yesterday.

    Definitely. Can't disagree with that.

I completely agree with your assessment. Midfield mostly not in the game. We pinged it up and they defended well. Forrest was decent and what we should have done earlier, changed it up. The - 2 GD is pretty disasterous IMO, but still it's not over it's a 3 game league but if we lose on Friday is could well.

One other thing, Marshall...thanks for penalty saves but Gordon gets to start the last two games, why on earth were you so far up?

It was such a strange set-up. People are saying that it was defensive, but it wasn't. Armstrong was more advanced than McTominay. Which is fine, if McTominay 9ffers for the ball and Armstrong has movement. Neither happened.

Seriously? I have no idea why he was up so far. He was almost in the centre circle.

  3. This analysis is interesting. (You have to click on it)

I did notice that McTominay played the anchorman role, but the difference is, he never once came to collect the ball. Gilmour would've demanded the ball.

I have only watched it once, but maybe it wouldn't be as bad the second time around.

We did create chances. That's a positive. If we can the same again England and Croatia then it's something to build on.

    Steve Clarke bottled it today.
The Czechs were there for the taking.

I'm not sure it was a tactical thing, but, our plan A seemed to be to launch aimless balls up to Dykes from all angles. I've looked at the stats, he won 6 out of 16.

    It was mindless at times.

Most the time the midfield was missed out entirely.

I remember when Duncan Ferguson played for us, all we used to do was lump it up to him  - no wonder he never scored for us!

There you go with your prejudice v Armstrong. He deserved to start in place of McGregor based on his showing in the friendlies. You want to have a go at someone, go for Mcgregor who can't tackle, can't pass forward and can't score. And you had been pushing Hendry's claims for months.

What do you want me to say?

Stuart Armstrong was amazing? His presence in midfield is peak Roy Keane? The challenges he put in, the way he drove the team forward was truly magnificent. On this performance it will have alerted Barcelona and PSG.

Or do you want the truth?

Do I also have a Prejudice against Che Adams?

I honestly thought Adams was excellent when he came.

3 other people said that Armstrong had a nightmare. Shock horror, I get singled out. Clarke couldn't have been too impressed as he lasted just over an hour.

    Now stfu.

The Daily Record gave Armstrong 5 out of 10. Do they also have an agenda?

Talking of prejudices, what about the one you have you have with me? If Stuart Armstrong scored a hat trick of og's, you'd have a go at me for slating him for it.

But if he never took it on and the ball bounced the way it did, we wouldnt even be having this discussion. But he did and blew it big time.

Personally, I know what you're saying.

Some players just make brainless decisions. Stuart Armstrong is one, and judging by the previous two matches, (where he contriibuted to us losing two goals) maybe Jack Hendry is another one.

Either that or he was unlucky.

I blame McBurnie. He abdicated his role as TAMB scapegoat by selfishly getting himself injuried before the tournament, leaving others to have the invective heaped upon them instead.

You may joke, but once the gerbil gets going in the heads of a few people here, McBurnie will get the brunt of the blame.

Probably because he wears his sock down with no shin pads. Everyone who is anyone knows that that kind of behaviour is riddled with Gypy curses and/or Witches.

Yes some big players bottled it today, but the main reason we lost and the main reason we can’t complete at this level, is our lack of firepower.
Despite the fact we were poor, we still created plenty of chances, but just weren’t good enough to take them.
The Czechs were clinical, we weren’t. Simple as that.

    Yes.

McTominay was anonymous and completely ineffectual . Armstrong either kicked the ball out of play, got in the way of his team-mates or basically roamed around like a drunk.

    The defence did fine.

O'Donnell, in the first few minutes the ball rolled under his foot for a throw in. Things didn't improve.

Fact is, we had good chances to score, some very good. At this level we don't have anyone who can score.

The positives are that we did create chances.

    Christie!!!!!!!

did you watch same game as me???

Do you not understand the concept of a posting board?

Let's all have the same opinion and post the exact same shit.

    That'll be scads of fun.

Christie was beyond honking so I'd go with that team except Adams in for Christie.

    I'd go with that.

Can't see Clarke going with two out and out striker, though. Maybe Fraser.

  10.                             Marshall

                   Hanley Cooper Tierney

    Patterson                                Robertson

                       Gilmour   McTominay

                             McGinn

                       Dykes   Christie

    ---

Marshall was too advanced for the second Czech goal, other than that, he has fine. Plus, there's no one else.

    Tierney for Hendry.

Patterson for O'Donnell as O'Donnell looked so nervous against the Czechs. He needs to be taken away from the firing line.

Gilmour for Armstrong. I was torn between playing McTominay in defense, as he's done nothing for Scotland from midfield, but no better time than against England.

Adams did really well when he came on. He added energy and zip. Really impressed me. But I'd stick with Dykes for his height.

Positives vs Czechs: We created chances.

Sometimes not sure what match you are watching. ALL the best moves have come via Armstrong and Robertson.

Three people said exactly the same thing as me. Steve Clarke brought Stuart Armstrong off.

    Why just single me out?

If you don't explain yourself, you're a shitbag

  12. And it's amazing how players develop.

I remember when we played Holland at 21s. It was Denzel Dumfries directy up against Lewis Morgan. Morgan skinner Dumfries at least half a dozen times. Dumfries was ripped to shreds.

Now Dumfries is captain of PSV, playing and scoring for the Netherlands at Euro 2020. Meanwhile, Lewis Morgan is plying his trade in the MLS.
