A voice of reason in a cloud of garbage.

    Look.

People are allowed to have a fucking opinion!

Just because you don't agree with it doesn't make it garbage.

Robertson, Tierney, Hanley, McTominay and McGinn would all be bigger blows than Gilmour. I think he is awesome, but he might not even have played versus Croatia anyway.

He 100% would have (I think).

    My optimism is gone.

They could've went upstairs and started phucking after the game too.

No point just making up things they "could've" done though.

Well, if they didn't do that, I would ask serious questions.

A table tennis table is 9ft long ffs. Its played socially distanced. It's the whole reason table tennis is one of the activities put on for them.

    Stop being a drama Queen.

They could've swapped sides during the match for all we know, thus, being touch tight.

A ball hasn't been kicked and we are out?

I'm not saying we will win but to say we are out is pretty disrespectful to the other 25 players.

It's a major kick in the teeth.

No one in the squad can do what Gilmour can do, to the level he can do it at. There's a reason 100% of the people here wanted him to start all three group matches.

So how come we beat Croatia before and Serbia when many folk had never heard of Gilmour? We drew with Netherlands without him too, albeit a friendly.

When's the most recent time we played Croatia?

    Serbia? Penalties.

I'm so disappointed. To go out this way is... absolutely gutting.

    Nonsense

    It isn't.

McGregor and x might be decent players, but Gilmour is the only who demands and wants to take the ball in tight spaces and from the defence. That was the big difference from both matches.

    We're fucked.

Gilmour has to potential to be the most important player Scotland has ever produced.
It maybe because of Billy that we change the style of football we play from a direct style to a more possession based game at international level.
Young Scottish kids will be watching Gilmour and saying, “I wanna play football like Billy”, coaches should use this opportunity to instil a passing/possession based game while Billy is around.

    That's a good point.

The one thing that Gilmour gives us is composure. So it gives us the option to mix it up.

Look at Spain. All fabulous talents, but all their players pretty much do the same thing. The balance we had in midfield vs England was the key to winning the midfield battle.

The same starting 11 will certainly create tons of chances. We just need to find a way to convert them. I'd be tempted to play Christie, Forrest, Fraser or even Turnbull as we all know they have an eye for goal.

Dykes was brilliant in the air against England. Won 9 headers (seemed like more than that), if Adams and McGinn can feed of the flick one, I think we have a chance. If not, as you say, get Fraser or even Nisbet on.

Yeah, if it was just long distance speculative shots then you could ignore it, but it was all different types of chances. Robertson made 11 crosses alone. Every striker in this tournament would be envious of us having him.

There are so many myths about Clarke. He is flexible, tactically astute and not stubborn. He's also his own man, so won't change anything based on fan or media pressure. And he's almost always right.

I'm not bothering to predict the 11 this time because we've all been wrong every time!

Very true. And the amount of shots we had blocked against the Czechs (do they even count?) Was insane

Totally. He learned from brilliant coaches (Mourinho, Dalglish... and Gullit and Zola, to a lesser extent) so it's no surprise that he outwitted Southgate.

lol. I'll predict the first XI after Clarke names it. 😛

  11. I actually meant teenagers/early 20s.

But it's a good point. McBurnie, Adams, etc, are all at good age.

That's probably a saving grace, that our current four striker will be together for a good few years, hopefully long enough to strike up a bond.
