It's pretty crazy to think Liverpool could finish with 97 points and not win the league. Robbo should still get recognised in the EPL team of the season.

McTominay just needs to keep his head down and work hard like he's doing. If he keeps shining when he is given the chance he'll make himself undropable like Robbo did. Remember 18 months or so ago when he was one game on one game off? Now look at him.

I know. Just shows how good Manchester City are and how possession based football is king. Oh, Robertson will be the left back in the EPL team of the year.

I don't know. Klopp bought Robertson and moulded him into what we see now. OGS doesn't seem to rate McTominay all that highly. When he does play the lad it's usually as a last resort.

He trained today and was spotted having a one on one chat with Solskjaer. My assumption is that he wants to keep him for Sunday.

If that's the case then it's madness.

Every since time the lad doesn't play the general assumption is that he's being kept for the next match. Does Solskjaer realize this McTominay is 22, not 32?

but Fleck, Cooper, McLean, Phillips, Burke, McGinn, Douglas (again), Rhodes

That's all fine and good but none of them are particularly good.

I'm being kind with that... the unkind version is that all seven of them are hopeless.

Has the SFA stopped being rotten to the core for the time being?

    Let me check.

    *checking*

    No.

Did I mention that there should be a quota on homegrown Scots in match day squads? How about how I love 3-5-2 or that I loathe the SFA?

Why do you feel the need to continually repeat the same thing again and again in every possible thread were it could be even slightly relevant?

Because personally I think the SPL (and the other lower leagues) should be forced to have a quota of Scottish players (that have come through their academy) in their match day squads. That and making the SPL larger are the ways forward.

Have I mentioned in the past 24 hours that I have a proclivity towards 3-5-2? If not...

    I have a proclivity towards 3-5-2.

Is so, I have a proclivity towards 3-5-2.

Oh. In Scottish football there should be a quota on homegrown players in match squads.

    I still have a proclivity towards 3-5-2.

Found it interesting to read that a team of Rangers first team players were getting hammered by Liverpool's U23s until Gerrard brought on a bunch of young Scots from the academy on in the 2nd half. Maybe that'll show him that they have young Scottish players coming through who should get game time over their naff imports.

    Oh really? Interesting.

Personally I think the SPL (and the other lower leagues) should be forced to have a quota of Scottish players (that have come through their academy) in their match day squads. That and making the SPL larger are the ways forward.

I am utterly baffled that anyone can think 'Sevco' and 'hun', is any of the words you describe.

Its not the 1st time you've been wrong on this board right enough

Who said anything about "sevco"? Since you mention it, though, there is no team in world football called "sevco" - I looked it up.

Really? What have I been wrong about? It's an easy thing to say, that it's not the first time I've been wrong, but no one has actually told me what I'm wrong about.

in that case pal, please go and take your face for a shite

    have a good day

Oooh! Aren't you the Shakespeare (Or Christopher Marlow) of the TAMB.

If you really do want to be my pal then you can at least be nicer. Be pleasant. You can beg me to be pals if you want.

I mean, I'd definitely say no, but it would be a fun process. :)

That all makes perfect sense pal, there's only one problem. There was fuck all sectarian in O'Neil's post and there was nothing divisive, if there are rangers fans on here who were genuinely offended by it then they should take a long hard look at themselves in the mirror and get over it because there was nothing sectarian in there.

The term hun has been used to describe rangers fans for years and is not aimed at their religion/sky wizard worship.  Its just like the term sheep shagger is used to describe  aberdeen fans. From what I have read, the term hun came from an english newspaper article where the journalist described rangers fans as "marauding huns" after they trashed and english town, possibly Wolverhampton but not sure. It had fuck all to do with protestants.

Rangers fans then led a campaign to ban the word because one day one of them woke up and decided it was a derogatory term used to describe protestants, it never was. This IMO was the start of the crazed tit for tat we see from both sides nowadays, social media escalates it too.

This is one of the many reasons this board is now failing, people are absolutely desperate to take the moral high ground when there is no need to.

Yeah, in no way am I your "pal".

You can do all the research all you like and use it back up your narrative, doesn't cut much ice with me. I think everyone knows that it has sectarian undertones and to suggest otherwise is absurd.

Would it actually kill people to say "Celtic" and "Rangers"? As opposed to stupid nicknames that have messy undertones? Too grown up to call a team by their actual name?

I'm not taking any moral high ground. I don't have to.

" a person who wants to divide scotland"

Image result for so funny i forgot to laugh meme

Using the N word or people who are offended by it is in no way comparable and if you were half as clever as you think you are, you would know this.

Anyway, thread is now fucked and it had nothing to do with O'neil's post

Yes. I do think I'm clever, kudos for noticing.

Posting a photograph of the queen? OK. That's your right to do so, personally I wouldn't, but fine...

Yeah, well, go and ask Steve Clarke what he thinks about Scotland and its seedy sectarianism. Let's see if he finds casual bigotry as a nice subject.

I've never been immersed in sectarianism or any kind of bigotry. But you go ahead.

Personally I think people should grow a set and stop looking for a reason to be offended or sulk. There was absolutely nothing wrong with O'Neil's post.

Certain huns on here have become a bunch of precious little darlings.

Reasons to be offended? So, people who are offended by the "N" are just wee nancies that looking for reasons to be offended?

This "looking for reasons to be offended" isn't applicable when people are saying words that are obvious intended to divide and cause anger.

Keep on saying it, mate, personally it makes you look like a person who wants to divide Scotland, rather than united it. So go ahead.

please tell me the two of you are joking?

Is it a foreign concept that some people find the names "huns" and "tims" to be sectarian?

Personally I think people should grow up and stop using silly names to divide us.

The shortlist is apparently McInnes, Moyes, Ross, Gemmill, MacKay and Clarke.  Colour me uninspired.

Mcinnes: Long ball merchant who would be Levein mark 2

Moyes: He always flirted with the job when his stock was high, usually saying that he "wanted the job in the future." - Yeah, well, that's nice, David, but we don't want you.

Ross: There's no chance. He has a project with Sunderland and there's no chance that he'd give up the chance of taking them into the EPL.

    Gemmill: No thanks.

    Mackay: No.

Clarke: Whatever it takes, we should get him!

Higgins I agree with you but Maguire - not a chance. He has too many weaknesses mentally and attitude is questionable. Like I said mentally he is like Ronnie without his talent.

He definitely has the talent, it's always been there, it's his temperament that's always been questionable. Same could be said for Trump, but Trump has started being more professional and starting treating the sport as a 9-5 gig.

I think Maguire could surprise a lot of people, maybe not this year, but certainly in the next couple.

  15. 1 minute ago, Caledonian Craig said:

Yes the danger for Cahill is he relaxes and believes the hype and does not give the next match the same due care and attention and loses. Maguire lacks in the mental department whereas Dott is/was stronger there and that is a big weapon in this sport. Maguire is like Ronnie mentally - can often lose the plot and lose interest.

It's not even that, it's the fact that he's on such a high, anything from now is a downer, even a win.

Agreed, in snooker it's 95% about the mind, if you're weak mentally or you switch off then you won't reach the top. I do think because of these three players committing to this process Maguire could do very well next season. I can even see Higgins win another word championship.

  16. 20 minutes ago, Caledonian Craig said:

Normally I'd agree but I have never got all the hype about Maguire. Very over-hyped player and was damned lucky to get past a debutant in the First Round.

It's not because Maguire is so good. It usually happens in Snooker, an upset happens and then that player who made the upset gets knocked out in the next round, irrespective of the opposition.

I think he's a better player than most give him credit for. If Dott can win the world championship then Maguire can, too.

This "tartan snooker cell" of Higgins, Maguire and Dott (I think it's Dott) in interesting. They've gotten together and arranged regular training and practicing in Glasgow. I think we'll see the fruits of this labour next season. I think either of them could win the world championship in the next few years, if they keep up the cell.

I think Trump could win it this season. He has an all-round game now, and that's come around because he's practicing more. Even if O'Sullivan was still in the tournament, I'd still pick Trump, as he's one of the few players that isn't scared of Ronnie.

  17. 1 minute ago, Caledonian Craig said:

The problem is that so many put too much stock in centuries scored in career etc. To me that is a meaningless stat. If you look through that list I'd guess that a fair few players today have more career centuries than Steve Davis but couldn't hold a candle to him on titles won. Winning frames and titles is the name of the game not scoring centuries.

    Agreed entirely.

Plus let's be honest, in sports where they're there's a World Championship, players are always going to be judged by many they win. It's like in darts, Van Gerwin will probably win more titles than Phil Taylor, but unless he equals of beats Taylor's haul of World Championships he won't be considered the greatest. I hope he does, though, but I can't see it.

  18. 2 minutes ago, Caledonian Craig said:

This game has changed. Cahill is fading and Ronnie upping his game. It is now 8-8 and Ronnie has gone favourite. How's your bottle James Cahill?

    It'll most likely finish 10-8 to O'Sullivan.
