Not sure if you've noticed, but the season is still going. It might be better to wait for a free couple of months to carry out some of the infrastructure repairs such as, oh I don't know, the summer? In any event, it's quite a large undertaking so any repairs would be phased, such as the tarting up of the turnstiles which has happened in the last couple of months and the drainage works adjacent to the John Greig statue which has been similarly upgraded.
And the stadium isn't "broken" in any event.
Sounds like its all happening in the summer! New signings galore, multi million pound repairs to the infrastructure et al.
I look forward to it.
We'll see how it plays out Wolfy and your faith may well be justified but I have my doubts is all.

This. Sick and tired of explaining that we have spent millions since King came in rebuilding the club but not on players. All anyone ever thinks is the money had to go on players. Of course then they'd moan we were over spending on players etc.
It's just the usual suspects making sure they have something to criticise Rangers for. It's their favourite hobby.
So is the stadium fixed then? Genuine question
-
You there much?
Apologies but I don't follow this saga religiously the way some do. I had heard both need repair running into millions. Obviously if it has been done that's a major investment. Has it?
-
When did Ibrox and Auchenhowie get repairs done? I must have missed that

I like how this is spun as a bad thing from rangers point of view.
I didn't say it was, although it would seem to be another indicator of a shortage of transfer funds. I guess we'll know better on February 1st

Coming from the Hearts end of things
-
Hearts loan Billy King to Rangers till end of season to aid their title quest and sale of strips !
Apparently no wage contribution as long as he is guaranteed game time. More smoke and mirrors methinks!

All the forecast sites are saying the pound will continue to drop against USD and the Euro.....however its a risk you take.
I dont need dollars till the summer but will probably change some soon and keep an eye on the rate

I think it would be good if they brought back standing at football - there's enough evidence of safe standing working on the continent and it would get rid of the most unsafest option, standing in sitting areas - but you wouldn't get me back on the terracing for love nor money.
It would certainly be good to have the choice. The game would be so much better if Police Scotland werent running things!

Great memories of Cappielow, the old Brockville and Broomfield too.
Nothing beats the jungle though. I can remember one old firm game where McCoist scored after 50 seconds or something just as we arrived. It took us half an hour to make our way round to our usual spot under the camera gantry and just as we got there we equalised and I lost everyone. It wasnt unusual to lose all your mates for a good 20 minutes after a goal was scored with all the swaying and crushing....and then the joy of finding one another again! I think gorgeous George McCluskey bagged a late winner that day (some player on his day).
I miss the atmosphere of those days but I would not want to go back to it. The crushing was downright dangerous at times and I had a few narrow escapes and I certainly dont miss some jake ball pishing down my leg or some of the casual violence. I remember an almighty scrap at the back of the Rangers end at Hampden at a cup semi against United. Someone belted a police horse and it took off into the crowd, how someone wasnt killed that night I'll never know. The worst violence I saw was at an old firm game unsurprisingly, Glasgow Cup final it was, although not in the way you imagine. A group Celtic and Rangers fans from Blantyre and a group of Rangers fans from Larkhall landed in the same carriage. The Larky boys saw an oportunity to give the outnumbered Celtic fans a doing not realising that the Blantyre boys would stick together. It was utter carniage made all the worse by some poor old soak pulling the emergency cord in fright. By the time the train pulled into Newton station the blood was running out the doors.
I think those of us who experienced the days of the terraces are understandably romantic about it but it wasnt all great as you can see. Always look forward never back!

I didn't say we were Brazil 1970.
Hoofball will always win a game from time to time.
What kind of football did St.Johnstone play the day they humped ye 5-1 at home hehe
-
Wow! Couldnae believe the United score, maybe theres life in the old dog yet!
Deserved win for the 'tic today...Todders a week on Wednesday will be interesting with 2 teams seemingly back on song. Should be a cracker!

If you consider a six figure sum to be "virtually nae money" then I wish I had your bank account.
Punctuation police aside Im not a 'massive' football club.
-
Are you suggesting that there's a non lunatic fringe?
There is he's called Wolfy ;-)
-
We can't afford to spend £1m on a player. We seemingly have a budget which can stretch to 6 figures though but not the high end. Or perhaps even the middle region. It's quite a leap to assume that we are therefore skint though. We weren't getting Scott Allen regardless of whether we could match Celtic's bid though. Hibs didn't want to sell to us and went on record with that.
So, what youre saying is theyve virtually nae money as far as I see it lol
-
Not being able/unwilling to pay £1m can only suggest that we are completely rooked, yes. No other option is fathomable.
Or £250,000 for Scott Allan or £450,000 for the new Keith O'Halloran! Youre right unfathomable....if youre that gullible. (Diawhatever his name is reportedly went for 700k in the end Wolfy)

Warburton now saying in the ET that he is happy to bolster the squad from the reserves. What happened to your wee holding midfielder that got a few games end of last season?
Surely it must be becoming obvious theyve nae money?

Was it for Ciftci?
Pmsl

I'm sure Whitehill Welfare got the lot when we played then in the 90s. Obviously before Lawwell's time of course.
We also paid a development fee to a club recently even though none was due because it was the right thing to do. Lawell gets plenty stick (deservedly so at times) but he's not all bad
-
Yes that is embarrassing for Aberdeen lol
-
The authorities have done feck all about it themselves. No fines no points deductions feck all.
-
Law abiding fans will have no problem with this - great idea - if you set off pyros , pretend you are a sniper or sing secretarian songs your banned - cheeriebye ya roasters
You dont think the money might be better spent on improving facilities or cheap lets for boys clubs???
-
I dont know how to copy and paste on this but theres a couple of links to ticket sites on a tripadvisor forum on the Vienna thread. Its about 25 yoyos and they recommend pre-booking cos the boat only holds about 100

I'm going to Vienna on the Sunday night. I arrive at 15:15 so toying with idea to stay in a new city I've never been to before or just make my way straight to Bratislava
