Behave. We were playing a meaningless game against a team of part-timers. Getting pictures taken with fans is like "a player on the bench being on their mobile phone", you seriously believe that?

If he wasn't interested he wouldn't have been there. Pretty obvious. Wasn't every player in the squad on the bench? And we could only make 3 subs. Maybe Strachan told him he wouldn't be getting on? We have no idea. You're just making an assumption.

I can't see Strachan being as petty as to leave Shinnie out for such a trivial thing. He's worked with players like Riordan at club level for goodness sake. Maybe he just didn't impress in training in some way, it could be that simple.

Either way Shinnie can consider himself unlucky, however I'm equally sure there'll be a rash of withdrawals so he may yet get his shot!

Can't understand your thinking. Rhodes has scored 4 goals in 4 months and generally had a poor season. Forget the transfer fee Boro paid for him, they are now keeping him on the bench and playing Dave Nugent in front of him. McCormack has scored 20 goals this season in, at times, a struggling side. He is in far better form than Rhodes and even more so than Watt, 4 goals in about 6 months. If we are looking at fringe options he should have been above both these players in the pecking order.

Shinnie is very hard done to though. I am keen on having Mulgrew in the squad, he gives cover in different positions. Shinnie is the exact same and, IMO, it would do the squad no harm to have a couple of players who are versatile that can cover 2-3 positions. Thats aside from the fact he should be given a shot at left back as I am not convinced by any of the other options we have there.

Rhodes offers us something different imo, but clearly Strachan doesn't rate either of them!

  3. Shinnie and Rhodes are really unlucky I think. We are unusually flush at left back atm but I would've thought his ability to play midfield would have merited a call. That plus Tierney is still really young. It seems obvious now that wgs simply doesn't rate Rhodes. I'm not fussed about McCormack or any of the others, more concerned about the total lack of options at centre back!

    Paul Lambert and Alan Preston

Ill add Terry Butcher to the list

    What did he do?

    *she's a wid btw

He gave her a lecture on negativity after she asked him a reasonable question over a sloppy goal lost at Hamilton. Then after another piss poor show in Europe he blew his top at her again after what I considered another perfectly reasonable question. I'm not sure he'd have done it with a male reporter and I'm surprised more wasn't made of it although Sutton and Hartson who were there both slated him for it.

  5. All the other Celtic managers mentioned had some redeeming features apart from Mowbray, he was feckin hopeless! Dr.Jo for example at least brought the genius that was Lubo. They all also had Rangers to contend with unlike Ronny.

I don't hate him I just think he's out his depth. That said, I don't get all this nice guy stuff. His behaviour towards Eilidh Barber was disgraceful twice and his handling of the Tonev affair ridiculous!

Think that's one of the reasons Keane turned the job down, along with his assistant being appointed for him. So he claims anyway.

I think I said to you months ago about Moyes as a possibility. I'm not sure it will happen and I can't see him being at Newcastle either. His reputation is just about in tact down South, and the idiocy of the EPL means that there will be vacancies in the summer.

I agree with Mox. You still have very good players, but have filled the squad with a lot of average (being kind) lads, to the Point it will take a clear out, if you want to keep winning the league and qualifying for the CL again.

Moyes is on record as saying he would like to manage Celtic some day....whether that day is now I don't know, but I doubt he would put up with big Pete's transfer cabal.

As for the upcoming game against your lot, well it's a long way off. I'm dreading the month long build up but we've some important games to play before we get to it.

As much as it pains me today it, I agree, he's not done enough to stay in the job beyond this season.

Ive said numerous times that I believe he has very little say in who we sign, but it's job to make sure they are a decent team to watch even if the playing staff isn't up to scratch.

In truth, there's probably only a handful of players in the current squad I would keep. I would love to see us get rid of the vast majority of the squad in the summer and have a complete overhaul, but I can't see it happening.

the problems stem from the very top of the club however but I don't expect Lawell et Al to acknowledge that never mind do anything about it.

It's true there is a transfer committee and Deila ain't on it but that's no excuse for the incompetence he's shown.

Moving forward this system could prove a major barrier recruiting a new manager. I can't see anyone who's operated at a good level putting up with it.

  8. Yip, the guy I heard it from doesn't give much away normally but he never Bullshits.

I think Moyes is pretty harshly judged by some. I mean, who could have followed Fergie? I give him credit for trying something different in Spain - he'll have learned a lot from that. I thought he did a terrific job for Everton and Preston.... it's not easy to keep these premiership chairman happy for any length of time!

Match made in heaven. A manager that's never won a major trophy managing a team that's not won a major trophy since God was a boy. Also if it means he stays clear of the Celtic job I'll be delighted.

I heard from a good source  at the weekend that Deila's contract will NOT be renewed in the summer and that the club are actively seeking a replacement.

Shinnie's outrageous dive. What about the other goal that was chopped off ?

Aberdeen have always been ####ed over by the refs but between last season and this I think they've ramped it up to 11.That's six "honest mistakes" in the last three games as well as allowing teams to repeatedly foul Dons players before they get booked or even spoken to.

BTW that's not being paranoid that's telling the truth, being paranoid is getting two soft penalties but thinking there's a conspiracy against your team because a player gets sent off for assault while being the last man.

They're even trying to help the third placed team by giving them a penalty every week

No u don't come across as paranoid at all.

Are u one of those red Huns people have been talking about?

I notice the book that this is based on is free just now on Amazon Kindle........ reviews are what you would expect though

It's an e-book. Don't know any Celtic fan who has read it or any Celtic fan who takes this kind of crap seriously.

In short nothing to see here. I'm only replying in the interest of balance seeing as how no other Celtic fans paranoid or otherwise have bothered.

Hugely important game for us against an improving, play-off chasing St Mirren today. Beautiful day today so conducive to a good match hopefully. Hibs gave us some breathing space in midweek but it will still be interesting to see how we cope without Martyn Waghorn's goals, particularly as we seem to be limited to a maximum of 2 goals per game at the moment.

And I concur with the Sutton comments. I hear he and John Hartson are doing an "Audience With..." evening in Glasgow Walkabout soon, which sounds eminently missable.

Preferable to an evening with Gazza in Ayrshire perhaps tho?
