Seriously wish I had, it was bloody baltic to add to the rest of the negatives. First time ever I considered leaving early, and I have stayed to the end for some amount of dog shit performances.

I genuinely can’t remember enjoying a single friendly in the last 20 years. Brazil in London maybe but that’s about it (and even  that had nothing to do with the actual game).  Don’t know why I bother going to them.

    €900 per ticket!

Do you get a free bar with that?

Surely at least a programme, pie & teamsheet?

    J

It really is crazy. Anything over £100 for a game of football is obscene.

Ah yes, Taylor. I remember him. Think he morphed into Whelky. Both not as bright as Chripper and appeared a lot younger by their use of shortened words like lol, cba, cam, cb and so on but they were similar to him with their arrogant posting style.

They (and a few others) are all the same person.

I didn't misunderstand and knew you weren't responding to my post but after reading yours, I was questioning your theory on things since I didn't agree with it...

I only put Chripper on ignore and you have just made the list. See ya.

Can't believe I am having this conversation but here goes...

If you want to speak privately to someone then send them a direct message otherwise any message on a public forum is open to the whole forum, that is how these things work...

Again, that’s not what I meant. You are free to reply but you misunderstood my point because it wasn’t aimed at you or your points.

Hahahaha from the person telling me to fuck off a minute ago.

    You sure you are fine?

Mate you’ll be banned (again) shortly. I’m not the one who has a problem.

Catch you on your next incarnation.

Eh you're posting on a public forum you daft bastard 😂

That’s not what I meant. You were inferring a meaning from a reply which had nothing to do with you or what you were asking. Are you hard of understanding?

Why do you need to be a football manager to question Clarke? It's a difference of opinion which everyone is entitled to but you seem to be taking things quite personally on here

I wasn’t replying to you Chripper.

You're no coming across very well with these posts, your paranoia is FAF

Mate you’ve just proven you’re Chripper. Nobody else would say this. You’ll be banned in a day or two.

Ooooooft why so serious big man? Maybe you should just stop posting for now until you calm down

    😂😂😂

I’m perfectly calm and I’m not that big.

Maybe you should just fuck off?

If he really is Chripper, his spelling and grammar has come on leaps and bounds, I don't think it's him.  Also, the guy does make a lot of sense at times too, that was definitely not in Chrippers locker!

Chripper’s spelling and grammar were very good and he made a lot of good points. Are you mixing him up with someone else?

You better be careful or people will suspect you of being him as well.

No body is saying sack him.
Nobody is too concerned about friendly results.

I think the concern is that he did not use them correctly

Cant see what he was doing playing the same old faces in the same positions. What could he possibly learn.

Nobody on here is saying he needs sacked (as far as I have seen) but I have seen people say it elsewhere and have heard it with my own ears at Hampden.

Unless anyone on here is a football manager I’m not sure we can convict Clarke of not using the games properly.

You’d need to ask the man himself what he was looking out for in these games.

Honestly no idea who this fella is, well before my time on here clearly!

He was an annoying bastard that got right on everyone’s tits. Much like yourself.

    Must be just a coincidence.

    Yes my son, you called?

I actually didn’t think you were Chripper but you’ve obviously been disguising yourself and now I do.

How have you been old chap?

He has made mistakes in competetive games also (like every other manager in the world), the previous euro's, Ukraine, etc. It's not just based on the friendly matches.

Those particular games I wasn't too fussed about as he was in the process of building the team still and figuring things out.

He's built the team well over the last nations league/Euro QF campaign but there is still some question marks over some decisions IMO, like not blooding in certain players and continually sticking with the same 11, playing without wingers or having any in the squad etc. Doesn't mean I want him sacked or anything though.

Yeah but this thread seems to have been resurrected because of the last 2 games.

The players and formation used by Clarke on Tuesday should have been more than enough to beat NI but we lost and ultimately it doesn’t matter.

If Clarke had been desperate to get a result against the Netherlands he wouldn’t have made the changes he did in that game.

Some people (I’m not suggesting you are one of them) seem to think that we need to win friendlies at all costs and if we don’t we are in some sort of crisis.

Clarke has made and will make more mistakes. If he was a perfect manager (there’s no such thing) he would likely be managing Real Madrid or Bayern Munich and not Scotland but the fact is he has got us to the euros without even needing the playoffs and we are in League A of the Nations League. Anyone who would want him sacked now because of some poor friendly results would need their head examined.

The Finland game's a weird one, it's hard to imagine any of the players busting a gut and risking injury ahead of, what could be, their only chance of playing at a major tournament 🤔

We had to play someone but aye tournament warm up games are always a bit flat.

I’m just glad we are not warming up another team to go to a tournament which has pretty much been the case for the last 26 years.

Fair points but Steve Clarke has made some errors IMO when picking the team that have already been spoken about in this thread but of course not everyone will agree

I’d rather he made mistakes in meaningless (result wise anyway) friendlies than qualifiers and Nations League games where he has done exceptionally well overall.

Clarke will ultimately be judged on his qualifying record and what we actually do at tournaments when we get there and not on bounce games against Netherlands and NI. He didn’t exactly cover himself in glory at the last tournament but he has a chance to put that right in June.

As long as he learned something in the last couple of games then those games should have some sort of benefit ahead of the Euros. If we beat Gibraltar (surely) and Finland (or at least put in a good performance) we can forget all about the March friendlies and go to Germany with the confidence we should have after our qualifying campaign.
