The is just corruption, pure and simple.

"Senior Labour figures have told BBC Newsnight that the commons speaker Sir Lyndsay Hoyle was left in no doubt that Labour was prepared to see him fall as speaker after the general election unless he called its Gaza amendment.

Newsnight has been told that it was made clear that Hoyle would need Labour votes to be re-elected after the general election and this might not be forthcoming.

That would effectively mean he would lose the speakership."

Daft bugger may have cut short his career even further...

Sure he had Glen Campbell's The Wichita Lineman as well or some part of his show at least.

Used to end his show with that.

Sad news, yes the days of the posse on Radio 1 were annoying, but latterly he pretty much perfected the afternoon show format. Listened to it a lot during the Covid lockdown months.

I dont think the prices are that bad , everything has gone up in price massively and there is not much you can get for £30-£35 quid these days . A bag of Bombay Mix has gone up fookin 45% .

Certainly compared to what we're paying for some Euros tickets it's a bargain. Everything is relative I guess...

For what its worth, I think the prices are poor considering its for 2 friendlies and 3 glorified friendlies.

For balance, I think the prices seem worse due to most recent campaigns being well prices.

Sadly i don't think we will see a full stadium for many, if any of these games.

Agreed. Not really bothered about the friendlies, especially at 30 quid. Will probably end up going to the Finland game to cheer the lads off to Germany though.

Also with Portugal at home being during the October week I'll likely be away with the family. So really not much incentive for me to get the 5 match ticket.

It was the same last year. That one was £25/£30 a ticket depending on the stand and the package was £125/£150.

So the price has went up £25 per package but it's 2 friendlies this year compared to 1 last year.

Plus the friendly was v England. Can't see there being a huge turnout for Northern Ireland.

Croatia is October school holidays here you absolute dancer!

We won't get away tickets I doubt but tempted to go in the home end although probably need to double check they're not absolutely fucking mental before committing!

Edit: They're fucking mental - will watch by the pool!

It's cause they don't actually believe in anything or have an over-arching vision. They just want to "win" and then do hundreds of simulations on voting outcomes against different policies. You then have them flopping about all over the place.

A souless political machine ran by focus groups and strategists.

It's become like American politics where you couldn't slide a fag paper between the main players, and the winner is decided by a tiny minority of floating voters.

I'm sorry he's had this news but has Cancer ever been taboo??

A while back it was, this guy gets a lot of credit for changing the mindset...

"In 1962 he had presented a documentary on the links between heavy tobacco smoking and lung cancer. Dimbleby decided to admit he was ill with cancer, which, at the time, was a taboo disease to mention. It was helpful in building public consciousness of the disease and investing more resources in finding a cure. The Richard Dimbleby Cancer Fund was founded in his memory."
