Bit of a strange Easter. Ended up baking hot cross buns on Sunday rather than Friday. I'm a traditionalist and would normally only eat them that day but the kids only came up yesterday so they ended up as brunch today (buns that is, not children).

You must love it that they're in the shops almost all year round now.

Had to check again who Gauld plays for ( Vancouver  Whitecaps ) as he does seem to be the forgotten man

Would not be surprised if Gauld plays at the next World Cup...for Canada.

Johnny Russell is still doing well with Kansas, probably getting a bit long in the tooth for a recall though.

Obviously Berti failed but he was the last manager before Clarke to take us anywhere near qualification.

McLeish got us within a game of qualifying too.

Lol Billy Dodds and Gordon durie. That just illustrates my point about how poor our striking options were.

Aye Doddsy wouldn't have been that much of an upgrade on who went to France, but he did end up being a decent option for us

One I forgot to mention was Don Hutchinson, within a few months he was our main man up front, if only Brown had taken a punt on him earlier 🫤

We were a good team but still very much short of quality attacking players and very limited in other areas as well. Going to a world cup with Donnelly, booth, Jackson and Gallacher(only decent striker)as your strikers is brutal.

    Gordon Durie was there too.

Should have taken McCoist for one last hurrah, Craig Brown later admitted so himself. Billy Dodds may have made a difference but I think he wasn't considered due to his sister's tragic death.

We really missed Gary McAllister who had dragged us to the finals with some great performances.

Yeah it was a draw so apologies, forgot to add that in but seemed to remember at the time that we were disappointed not to get a win

    No worries.

Can't wait to see this thread after we get knocked out the Euros 🫣
