  1. I love Lyndon Dykes. He has a great attitude and clearly loves playing for Scotland.

Also, every time he gets a barrage of criticism, he seems to respond by going on a good run of goalscoring.

    G'Day mates.

The central defensive areas we have a lot of options there just now in the form of Hendry, McKenna, Cooper, Souttar, Porteous, Hanley and King. I'd like to see us have more options up front than we have.

And let's not forget Hyam and McIntyre.

Dom Hyam was unreal again for Blackburn, no idea how he has not been called up.

If Jack Hendry doesn't recover from his present injury, you might see Hyam playing against Turkey.

Hyam was definitely watched by SFA scouts whilst at Coventry last season (so was Rose) so they do know about him.

Matt Phillips scored for West Brom yesterday; only his fourth goal since the start of last season. I imagine he's no longer in serious consideration anyway, but could be an option if he gets some form going.

We won't be seeing Phillips again.

If we are hit with a number of injuries and suspensions it will be (younger) players like Alan Campbell, Scott Wright, Barrie McKay or Alan Forrest that Clarke will turn too in that position.

One goal in a friendly match aside, Phillips was poor when he played for Scotland.

Devine is eligible still aswell. McKinnon,  Weston and others out on loan are also eligible.

Bar McAussland and Fraser the Rangers team is fairly young and has quite a few 2006s. Outside of Doak it's an older Liverpool side. Stuff like that needs to be taken into consideration.

Tony Weston is English and Ross McAusland is from the six counties. Definitely not Scottish.

Agreed mate, seemed to be in a good place under Shelley Kerr, team seems disjointed, best player is also retired, wonder if she would’ve kept playing if she felt the team had a genuine chance of achieving something.

IIRC correctly, results started going south in the latter part of Kerr's tenure, her players hated her and the SFA considered some of Kerr's personal conduct deeply unprofessional.

08.48 today. BBC Five Live. Presenter very excitedly says we're delighted we're going to speak to the Irish girl who sent them through to their first WC final.

So 'we're delighted that we're speaking to the non Brit who scored the goal that meant a British team couldn't qualify. And that's from the British Broadcasting Corporation!

Substitute England getting knocked out and there would be understandable uproar!

Doesn't bother me. I'm not British.

Watched Forest vs Villa last night. Mckenna had a solid game but McGinn struggled though to be honest the whole Villa midfield looked disjointed. He's trying to fit McGinn, Ramsey, Coutinho & Buendia in the same side when all 4 play their best when playing off of the striker/No 10 role

I'd like to see McGinn move on from Villa but I don't know who'd take him.

Hopefully kick on and claim a starting spot. Probably just got a start tonight due to the injury to Willock.

Willock is now out injured for a few weeks. Dykes now has a great chance to play and score a few.

Didn't know that Jordan Archer was now their back-up goalie.

Chris Martin ; what a useless lump of a player - his dieing swan act at hampden at 2-2 game with england may have been his biggest involvement - not quite as dodgy as mackail-smith though

You forgot his late winner off the bench against Slovenia at Hampden ?

Much worse strikers than him have played for Scotland this century, such as Kevin Kyle and Scott Dobie.

Yup. It was very much scraping the bottom of the barrel. Jamie Smith comes to mind, though I'm sure there are loads of others. He was never more than a bit part player for Celtic but still got 2 Scotland caps while he was there. Interestingly he never got capped again despite a decent career away from Celtic.

Jamie Smith was far, far from the worst player capped by Vogts.

Smith definitely had some talent, his big problem was he was always injured for half of every season. Hence no more caps.

If you want a shite Old Firm player capped under Vogts. Look no further than Maurice Ross. Arguably the epitome of what a terrible Scottish footballer is.

They didn’t fight over Michael Higdon.

At the time he left Motherwell on a free, Rangers were not really financially in the position to sign Higdon though, were they ?

Celtic enquired about Connor Sammon (I think it was in case they couldn't sign someone else) at one point a long time ago. The Old Firm most certainly do look at these kind of players.
