must have been, i must have missed something

Yesterday evening, Thplinth made an absolutely vile and untrue accusation towards aaid.

When thplinth realised he'd gone way too far and posted something that was beyond the pale, he panicked and unconvincingly tried to pass it off as a joke.

The mods then wiped the entire thread and very possibly thplinths account.

If it finally gets rid of the toxic poster that is thplinth, then it's worth it.

Big Ramy got 21 days, and he at least has a sense of humour and a little bit of humility about himself.

thplinth wouldn't know a ball if skelped him in the face, he's always looking to hit the man with personal abuse.

Thplinth was (going back six or seven years ago mind you) once quite an amusing if somewhat eccentric poster.

Then he somehow got brainwashed by that alt-right bullshit and you know what happened after that.

  3. Clarke quoted in the Herald saying that they are seriously considering looking in the USA, Canada and Australia for eligible goalkeepers.

He also dropped a big hint to Robby McCrorie that it's now or never for him to find first team football either at Rangers or elsewhere.

I wasn’t on the terraces in the 70s and 80s, I’ll take you’re word for it but that’s certainly never been my experience, in fact if anything I’d say there was a bit of an anti-Rangers element to the support these days what with the booing of the queen, booing of god save the queen, booing of Ryan Jack.

How is being anti-monarchist somehow anti-Rangers ? Were you upset when Mrs Windsor died ? Is the monarchy important to you ? It certainly isn't to many posters on this forum.

Ryan Jack got booed by some teenagers at a friendly played at Pittodrie a few years ago. That was wrong but I doubt Jack lost any sleep over it. It also has not happened since. Maybe it's time for you to get over it?

So the SFA have spoken, and claim Jota was offside, despite the picture clearly showing him onside. Just like the hearts handball, the Bernabai penalty, and the Giak karate kick. Celtic should be awarded a Knighthood for having to play against 11 footballers, Blind ref, and 2 dodgy linesman. Oh aye, and Stevie Wonder on the VAR telly. Ange really is a legend having to put up with this corruption week after week, not to mention Steve Clarke moaning that Celti  won't release players for a meaningless friendly in Turkey. All part of supporting the greatest club in Scottish football history.... Some things will never change....

This is like dialogue from a Samuel Beckett play 🤣

Not sure if it's been mentioned on here but Fraser Hornby has an assist and three goals in his last three games in Belgium, Two of the goals were against Club Bruges.

A lot of people had high hopes for him and at not much over 22 there might be hope for him yet.

As for Brown he has barely started half of a pretty poor Stoke teams games this season, his inclusion is a mystery.

If he can start scoring regularly then by all means Hornby should be considered.

That's not entirely fair considering how Brown was out injured for several weeks.

Not trying to be funny but can anybody give me a reason why Jacob Brown is in the squad. Just looked at his stats for this season. 15 games, 2 goals and no assists. Is there something about him i am missing. Quite happy to be put right on him if anybody can put a good arguement forward for him being included.

Can play on the wing and has a bit of pace.

Also, for all we know, Clarke may have approach McBurnie and the latter said "no".

I'm happy that Ramsay is deservedly in there.

Cooper has been playing so he should be called up.

Possibly he has now decided to retire from international football ?

Why are the Celtic players exempt from this match?

Because the SFA are stupid, weak, cowardly bastards.

  9. I'd go with

Gordon (sub for Kelly at H/T)

    Ramsay

    Hendry

    McKenna

Robertson (sub for Tierney at H/T)

    Ferguson

    McTominay

    Armstrong

    McGinn

    Christie

    Adams

I'm concerned about Patterson. Looks like he's been rushed back too soon after injury by an under pressure manager and is not fully fit or playing well.

Strange squad. Ramsay is there but why not more youngsters. How is Ryan Jack in there also.

I thought Jack was supposed to be injured ?

At least Ramsay is there, that is something.

I would rather have had Dominic Hyam in over Grant Hanley and Alan Campbell in over Kenny McLean. Hanley and McLean two players whom I think we should move on from.

Has Liam Cooper retired or is he injured again ?

    Expect three or four withdrawals.

I think it is really noticeable how the traditional left of centre parties have changed. Tulsi Gabbard explains this in her Leaving the Democrats video. The Democrats used to be anti-war and now they are stacked with neocon warmongers slavering for it and with Russia this time. You see the same in the UK. Where are the antiwar voices now versus the left wing of old. Salmond used to be a rare thorn in Tony Blair's side during his Iraq war lies and we saw what they did to him...

And what is also noticeable (especially on here) is this slavish allegiance with the current crop of Sturgeon SNP and the US democrats.

Prior to 2014 I dont ever recall thinking the SNP support was inclined (or particularly interested in) one way or the other (republican v democrat v whatever in the US). But this current lot act and talk almost as if they are all one party with the US democrats.

So you should definitely watch the Tulsi Gabbard video on why she left. There are lot of parallels with Strugeon led SNP (IMHO.

Woke war mongers. Not the combination you would really expect from the left of old.

What Republican policies do you support ?

  12. I seem to recall reading that during the mid-nineties Fergus McCann once refused to release Celtic players for international duty but at Craig Brown's insistence the SFA threatened to get UEFA (or FIFA) involved and McCann had to back down.

Postecoglu says no Celtic players will be in the Scotland squad for the turkey match so that rules out Taylor, Ralston & Forrest

Not happy with that at all. The SFA should have stood their ground, the rules were in their favour.

Now that we are minus a few players, if I were Clarke, I'd tell Gemmill that Anderson, Conway, Doig and Ramsay are going with the senior squad to play Turkey. He won't do that of course but I'd love it if he did.

sounds a bit of debate over DS - that he created the legend himself in his book in the 70s  ; his brother and more importantly Paddy Mayne were more deserving of credit , and Sterlings perfomance during early raids were not comparable - this was only from a history podcast about a book on this subject - unless the author was making it all up ?

ive only seen the preview of the show - first thing that put me off , was the boy band haircuts and designer sunglasses - any photos ive seen of LRDG etc , all fully bearded and sunglasses usually sealed at side (sandstorms ?)

Ben McIntyre, who was the author of the book upon which the series is based, was the first historian to actually be allowed to see the SAS own WW2 records that had locked up for decades and is also a well respected authority on the espionage and special forces of WW2. I would be inclined to accept what he has to say.

The accompanying BBC documentary series also showed a lot of film and photographs of the original SAS from when they did their training before their first mission. All looked very neat and tidy and clean shaven.
