She has already said it will be a framework and there won't be dates which is totally sensible because if you are being driven by the data dates are meaningless.

I agree the dates need to be flexible and adapted to the changing situation.

However people also need a bit of hope. Something to look forward to. They can't just keep saying restrictions are continuing for the next 3 weeks. People will just give up.

A flexible framework with indicative dates is sensible imo. It doesn't have to be as explicit as the UK government has laid out but key stages and dates such as "the end of May" or whatever should be given.

You. There's been an entire day of respectful posting and grown up discussion. You've just jumped in and started dragging the thread down.

Why dont you try and post on a proper thread for instance. Instead of continuing to ruin this Celtic thread. Its childish..

Discussions evolve. Other things get discussed. It's what happens when grown ups talk.

Perhaps you'd have more luck in getting the thread back on topic if YOU discussed celtic, rather than just whinging that others aren't. Say something that people want to engage with and the discussions will move back to your team.

He gets far too hard a time from folk in my opinion. The only player who plays off the cuff and is a genuine entertainer. Certainly a lot better to watch that most players that are churned out these days.
    I like him.

Agree totally. Love watching him play. It's become fashionable to slag him off when the reality is in regards to cheating, he does little different from the majority of other players.

Not at all Parklife.  I am hoping one day I will though.  He seems to have a presence about him though.  I listened to an interview on radio with Gordon Strachan.  He said that Fergie as soon as he walked in to the dressing room it was just his presence that mattered.  He said the only other person in his life that made him feel like that was when he took his wife to a Queen concert.  When Freddie Mercury came out he mastered the audience.  I am not saying that Gerrard is like that just now but he does hold a presence imo.  Just like Klopp and Mourinho.  I don't think Lennon has that.  I think McIness could have but has lost the fans.

You're entitled to your opinion. it's not one I share at all but it'd be boring if we all thought the same thing

If Aberdeen could do that then there is no reason that they cant compete.  For some blind reason I still think McIness could do it if he had the right men at the back of him.  There must be some coaches out there who could help him.  I am friendly now with the first team coach at St Johnstone as I coach his laddie (up until lockdown).  But he is still learning as well but he will go on to great things because he listens and learns.  And St Johnstone will benefit from his experience as a player.

McInnes doesn't think he needs to listen to anyone. That's clear. If he did, we'd not have suffered a turgid style of play for 3 years now.

I can't see any way back for him tbh. Only his fat contract and the cost of paying him off is keeping him in a job.

Rangers have been a bit less formidable recently, you could look at it as them taking their foot off the gas slightly, or wonder if Celtic had managed to put any sort of pressure on them could they have collapsed like previous seasons?

I have to reluctantly admit Gerrard is doing a great job, and you can see genuine progress, but I’d like to have seen if they would have coped if Celtic had managed to close the gap.

He's doing a great job now, I agree. He done a great job in Europe last season too. Without that European run last season, he may not even have seen this season though. The performances of his side in domestic cups has been pretty pathetic though.

I'm sure he and his backroom team have learned a lot from whatever huge failures caused them to collapse last season. That's to their credit. As you say, we'll never know how they'd have coped under serious pressure but I don't think that's something that we can hold against them.

What's your early impressions of how Graham Alexander will do?

I read an article by Gerrard this morning about the first team coach he has at Ibrox and he said it would take himself 20 years to be as good a coach as him.  Mike somebody.  So you are correct.  A young manager with a coach with plenty of experience.  As much as I would hate it I think Steve Clarke has a lot to give at club level.  Aberdeen should push the boat out to get him, as should Celtic.  Scotland could still have him and Strachan as part time.  Might sound daft but outside the box thinking sometimes works.

Yeah. From what I've read Michael Beale and Tom Culshaw play a huge part in Rangers' success. Gerrard very much the public face of a management team.

Knowing when someone is smarter than you and having the humility to know when you should listen to them is something Gerrard is clearly adept at.

And yet he comes across well on TV.  But you guys know as watch them week in week out.  Maybe time for him and Lennon to move to England I suppose.  Who would you want for the Dons job.  I know people on here have slagged Ross County for Hughes.  But I think it is a good signing for them.  He might be a bit of a nutter but he is IMO a motivator.

I think McInnes will struggle to get a job in England at the level he thinks he should. His recent track record is Finishing 4th in Scotland with the 3rd biggest budget and failing to win any trophies. Doubt that will appeal to many clubs. Especially when you add in the "pragmatic" brand of football he chooses to play.

I'm not sure who I'd like. A young coach with an experienced guy as DoF would be how I think a club should be structured. DoF taking a long term view and ensuring recruitment fits with how we want the team to play and that we're focussing sufficiently on player development.
A tactically astute coach improving players and managing the side.

At the risk of being hounded as usual Ramy.  Lennon hasn't lost Celtic 10.  Rangers (eventually) will have won it on merit.  They have hardly lost  a goal nor a game this season.  I know you are looking for someone to blame along with the goon brigade.  But the fact is that Rangers have improved 100 fold and have a balance to the side.  That is not Lennon's fault. I agree Celtic need change now but every team goes through that.  You have had a one horse race for too long my friend.  The tide has turned.  Up to the Celtic board to react.

You, just like Ramy, are only looking at one side. Rangers have improved & been very consistent. However celtic have regressed massively. Celtic were on course for 101 points last season, this season theyre on track for 83. A huge drop off.

Rangers are on track for 103 this season. A huge increase but Celtic fans have every right to be frustrated at their own sides steep regression.

  8. Logged on for the first time in a while and see that the exact same bonkers arguments are still ongoing 😂. Although the emoji one does seem to be new. Why does anyone give a toss enough about that to get worked up about it? Messaging mods because people are giving them confused faces... 😂 Great stuff.

Anyway, I'd expect a very comfortable win for Celtic tomorrow. A slow limp to the end of the season is in store for Aberdeen. With 4 of our 10 remaining games vs Celtic and/or Rangers, I can't see us even getting close to catching Hibs. A season in which 2nd was there very much for the taking, we'll likely finish 4th (& possibly 5th).

McInnes hanging on for a payoff of his inflated contract, while claiming he loves the club more than any supporter. He's been an excellent manager for Aberdeen but his stubbornness and god-awful football for most of the past 3 seasons will see his reputation very much tarnished with the Aberdeen fans.

I think generally this season we’ve been better to watch with a back 3 that can actually play that way, but there’s still some really baffling decisions going on. Can’t really judge on this last week with so many players out, but Considine at the right of 3 yesterday was baffling to say the least.

I disagree. This is McInnes' squad. We a had a team full of senior players (perhaps excluding Campbell) that he signed playing on Saturday. He's the one who signed Ojo & main & the rest. Players who're nowhere near good enough.

  10. Great to see a Celtic collapse, given their dominance of our game for the past decade.

I can't see Lennon lasting much further beyond their upcoming humping by Milan on Thursday. However, if he does, they've 3 very winnable home league games and a cup final vs a championship side to build up some momentum.

Rangers will have a dip at some point I'm sure, whether Celtic will be in a position to take advantage of it is another matter.

  11. Have watched that Christie interview about 15 times and it makes me well up every time. Love it.

So incredibly chuffed. For myself, for my mates who I'll (hopefully) get to go to the games with, for every Scotland fan on here who's had years of torture following the team, for all the wee kids who'll get the chance to fall in love with the team seeing us at a major tournament & for the players and staff who've shown ability, determination and bucketloads of courage and thoroughly deserve this.

Im so happy. Roll on June!

  12. What a night. Sounds ridiculous but I'm so proud of every last one of the players. The strength of character to come back from that equaliser, to step up and have the nerve to do it on penalties, was outstanding.

Seeing Ryan Christie care so much was brilliant. He cares as much as every one of us who've invested so much emotion in following our country.

    Fantastic.

You think it is coincidence that 99.9% on here have Jack in their starting line up and he doesn't?  Everyone else on here will pick players at the top of their game and not by their own personal grievances.  But anyway, I hope he scores the winning goal.  That would send him over the top 😀

Stuart Armstrong playing shit is he, aye? Very few including him. Clearly everyone is bitter. Jack is a good player, given McGregor's average form, it'd be a toss up between him and jack for that spot if I was picking. I'd rather trust someone I think is a superior player than go with a poorer one in better form.

    Is that okay?

Just for reference though, Ryan Jack is an utter prick, just like you. Id even accept you scoring the winner tonight though.

Now piss off and stop referencing me in every 3rd post, you utter creep.

  14. I'd go with

                              Marshall

        McTominay- Gallagher - McKenna

    O'Donnell                          Robertson

               McGregor - McGinn

                          Armstrong

                    Dykes - Christie

I think he'll shoehorn in Tierney at left CB though (to calamitous effect).

    It's called banter Parkie.

No, it's not. If you click to link to follow to where I pulled that post from, you'll find that you posted about 5 times in a row. All along the same lines. They're not "banter", they're gloating and smarmy & condescending.

They're also along the same lines as 90% of the posts you make. You're incapable of having "banter" with others (except Ramy who is along the same lines as you).

Anyway, I've answered why I've no interest in chatting football with you. I'm out now.
