I was looking at our history of hopeful minutes.

1978: After Archie Gemmill's goal the impossible looked possible. For 3 minutes... Then Johnny Rep scored.

1982: Having for once won our opening game, for 15 minutes we led Brazil....

1996: For 15 or 16 minutes, we were in a position where we could have gone through....

    That's plenty...

  2. Nervous, excited & on edge emotionally already and it's only 8am.

Never been to see us at a major tournament, was only 11 at France '98, but today's the day.

We've a team we can believe in to go and get the win we need today. Let's hope we perform and get the little pieces of fortune we may need.

    COME ON SCOTLAND!!

  3. Scotland 2-1 Czech Republic

    England 2-0 Scotland

    Scotland 1-1 Croatia

Really can't see us being even close to getting a result at Wembley, unfortunately.

Two tight games at Hampden that we're capable of winning. If we can get 4 points, we should be through. If we can turn it in to 6 points, we should even get 2nd spot.

With things changing and getting better what are the chances of the amount of fans at the games increasing? They have had concerts in Liverpool and now the brits and the snooker world final all with a full house and no masks. If the SFA push to get more tickets and sell them to members surely that is more money for the bigwigs at UEFA.

Small correction but the fans at the snooker had to wear masks, I thought? They certainly were all doing so when I was watching.

...The No Beer at Hampden where every other venue will be selling beer.. ( okay maybe plastic beaker of £7 Budwieser..But nice to be given option.

I don't think that's accurate. Beer is normally banned from general sale at UEFA games, I thought? None of the venues for euro 2016 were able to sell alcohol within the ground.

I know a few TA guys who queeried their points total and the points were increased

There was an error in counting the total for last campaign.

Those that bought a package for all 5 games were only given 1 point, for 1 purchase, instead of 1 point per game.ie 5 points.

A few in our group, including my son were in this position.

I told a few others and they checked and their points were corrected.

Doesn't help you in your ticket quest I know, however at least you know why you dropped down a wee bit.

Yup. This was the case with me also.

I made absolutely no comment on the efficacy of the vaccine. I was simply pointing out that they had gone back into lockdown so the vaccine isn't the be all and end all that many here seem to think it is

The vaccine they've used is less effective than our ones and is still working effectively.

The article you posted failed entirely to tell the full story. It was scaremongering.

This type of story should be all over the mainstream media in this country but there is zero mention of it. It's maddening

Especially if they contextualise it and show that the vaccine (less effective one than the ones we're using) is still working effectively there.

Then we can all fully understand rather than just posting links when we know very little about what's being reported.

Here was me believing you dealt in only cold hard facts.

No. I question the veracity of things. Like any thinking person should do. Hence why I asked "how do you know this?" about several things, after you claimed them as facts.

You seem like a nice laid back fellow

Everything I post on this thread and this forum is true.

The 3 matches at Hampden “sold out” the UEFA allocation the the first time. Non paid for tickets were released for all 3 matches and games 1 and 3 then “sold out” for the second time.

I'm totally laid back. You're claiming to "know" things that no one else knows and contradict other known things.

How do you "know" 27,000 were sold?

How do you "know" the matches sold out?

That is incorrect. I had numerous friends who applied for all 3 bands of pricing and were left empty handed.

I applied and got none. Same with 2 pals. We all bought tickets during the resale.

You speak in factual terms, without actually having a clue.

I can think of two possible reasons why it seems to be this way (even if you don't agree it should be seen this way).

One is that if things are ticking along, then a newcomer comes along and shakes things up, and then everything goes pear shaped, then the newcomer is likely to get most of the blame, even if the incumbent was underperforming all along.

Another is to do with judging against objectives. If there is only one indy party, and their objective is simply to stand up for Scotland and represent the independence cause in parliament, then however many votes or seats they get, they can be seen as fulfilling that objective. If another party comes along whose main purpose is to boost the number of pro-indy MSPs on the list, but in fact its participation redistributes the pro-indy votes in a way that results in a loss of pro-indy MSPs, then it can be seen to have failed its objectives - and also harmed the overall cause for everyone else.

The real reason for Iain saying what he said imo is that he thinks the snp are entitled to pro-Indy voters votes.

It's a common attitude within the SNP to blame others for the SNP not getting the votes they require, rather than looking inwardly at why it's happened.

Not sure where to give my 2nd vote. The Tory leaflet I got through the door claims that in Central Scotland last time the Tories only got the last list seat from the Greens by 1800 votes, so I'm leaning Green at this point.
