Not one pundit on Sky or Radio Scotland thought it was a foul and Morellos goal should have stood.  Can't see the Rangers fans complaining to SFA, their local MP or everyone that will listen to the eternal victims.  Dignity in defeat is something the victims canny do.  It's always somebody else's fault.  Celtic deserved to win as created more chances.

It was a foul, ya dafty. 😄

@duncan IIyou are due a bit of good fortune. As Slasher says, better to be lucky than good. Loads of people work their butt off and still struggle, others are in the right place at the right time. Life is not an even playing field.

    👍

My wife's a teacher so she's loaded! We'll be ok. Also ever hopeful my 8-year-old will become a well-paid gaming genius and keep me in my old age. 😄

Sorry to hear that m8 but you’re definitely not alone on that score. Plenty of women in particular could tell you a similar story, years out of the workplace to raise a family, years working part time just to pay child care and no extra money for a pension.

I’ve the union man at Ravenscraig to thank for mine. As soon as I turned 18 he stuck a form in front of me and said ‘here, get that fuckin signed, you’ll thank me later!’ How right he was. I nearly cancelled it a couple of times when I saw how much it was costing but thank fuck i didn’t.

Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good! 👍

Yeah, that was good advice you got. 👍

Ach, I'm not bitter. I made my bed. And I'm not gonna be on the streets. As you say, others will be in a similar position or worse off.

    It's a good thread / read Ramy

Probably the most I've posted in years.......

It is a good thread, but making me feel awful about some of my early career decisions. I'm 50 now and genuinely don't see how I'll be able to retire before 67 or whatever. Those (the majority here?) talking about retiring in 50s, it blows my mind. I've had good professional level posts since graduating late 20s but not made great pension provision. I had a council pension, for example, but in order to consolidate at one point, I moved it to an inferior product. I then worked for myself a wee while and had no provision. Latterly, due to ill health, I've moved to a home-based, poorly paid job. I pay into a pension but I think my combined private pensions over the years will be minuscule, therefore will be working till state pension age. And then pick up that pittance.

Enjoy your respective retirements, folks, but think of us mere mortals.

Don’t disagree with you at all mate, but that wasn’t the point I was making.

I was addressing the suggestion that young people were likely to the culprits rather than older people, when in reality young people are generally speaking considerably more “educated” on these matters than folk over 50.

Yeah, wasn't having a go. Just my thoughts. I'm 50 exactly. Always thought I was pretty enlightened but feeling more alienated by all things youth culture.

In actually fact, in our current society, I'd say it's far more likely that teenagers/young people are the ones that actually do "know better" and 50somethings more likely to be the ones singing songs like this.

We can be too precious. Kane is an illiterate boor, who is also a blatant cheat and diver. A horrific role model as an England captain and representative of the declining standards of modern youth and, therefore, ripe for getting ridiculed at any opportunity. I don't personally sing derogatory songs but there's worse things to worry about.

That's a bit over the top. My apologies... Sometimes I get overly passionate.. 👀😉🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Geographically dodgy too. Spain are nowhere near his heartland of Denmark and eastern England. 😎

Who should have a vote, a student from overseas studying in Scotland with no intention of remaining or a Scottish student studying overseas who fully intends to return?

Questions over the electorate and who it should contain are often not straightforwards.

It's perhaps not straightforward and the examples you give are cause for discussion. Not saying I have a perfect solution, but in general terms, yeah, I think those not resident in the country not being given a vote is a perfectly logical and fair position to take.

Didnt watch the game due to being at a mates wedding. Seems like mixed messages here.

Did we play well or not?

I certainly would have taken 3 nil before the game.

    Good start to the campaign.

Robertson was excellent going forward. Don't listen to the dafties. Overall we weren't great. Played in spells. Never in trouble, lack of invention at times. Job done.

I get that some folk are in favour of playing guys that are regularly starting for their clubs, but we shouldn't be starting inferior players just because they are a bit fresher.

Tierney is in the same bracket as Robertson, McGinn and Gordon. If fit, they are too talented not to start. I think Gilmour could end up being in that category in the next couple of years.

I think Gilmour already is, as is McGregor. So easily forgotten how assured he looked in big games for us not that long ago. I don't remember us having someone like that. He's fit. Play him.

I think they'd work well as a team.  Kate would be a decent FM but I don't see her as being aggressive enough to stand up to WM; Ash would also make a good FM but clearly she's cut from a different cloth. I think together they would have the right assets to win back voters who might have been scared off by the recent shenanigans.  If Kate wins she should hand over the constitution minister post to Ash; if Ash wins, she could do worse than having Kate back  in the finance position which I think is probably her area of most strength.  Take on WM as a sort of good cop, bad cop pairing.  Cagney and Lacey with a tartan twist.  Would certainly be a lot more interesting than post-2017 Sturgeonism.  And whoever wins needs to bring the whole indy movement up to the right end of the pitch.

    Yeah, this.

They never said it would breach, they said it would push to the limits.

Anyway, although I don't like people just mentioning the Nazis per se this has certainly got the whole of the UK talking.  So I have now come to the conclusion that what Lineker said has and is turned/turning out to be a good thing.  People that probably didn't take much interest in politics know a lot more now especially the tory immigration policy.  Going to get my students to debate it this morning though.  Should be interesting.

You keep making reference to "my students". That is truly horrifying. The dumbing down of society is a real phenomenon. But for someone with your grasp on reality and decency to be in a position to influence young minds is breathtakingly scary.

Nope, he made his choice, he wanted to play for England and wasn't good enough, tough tits, you made your choice. The dark blue jersey is not a jersey of convenience.

    Usually yellow, although sometimes pink.

Still can't see the language used was similar to Nazi Germany. The language I have seen used was against the gangmasters and illegal immigrants entering the UK on boats.  So what was the language used that wants to be the same as Nazi Germany?  Please enlighten me and put me to bed.

I genuinely think, unless you're permanently on the wind up, that you are the thickest cunt ever to feature on the TAMB. No offence. But seriously, the thickest cunt.

I’ve decided that I’m certainly not voting for Ash Regan because she’s an absolute maniac.

On the other two I’m still not sure.  I will probably have to hold my nose.

Not having a go, but that's nonsense, isn't it? 😁 Whenever you post about any of the candidates it's to rubbish something Regan has said or ridicule Forbes. Always. There's nothing particularly wrong with voting for Humza, but please just be open about it. Own your decisions, as the young people say.

I dont think plastic paddy is a racist term. Are the irish a race? Infact are the scottish a race?

Also what is it with the spelling police around here. I have been pulled up in the past for it, usually when certain members dont like the point i am making and they will try and take a cheap snipe at spelling or punctuation instead making a valid counter point.

Most ppl in here usually make all kinds of spelling and grammatical mistakes.

If you care massively about these minor details then a football message board probably isnt the best place for you.

Why? I can care about more than one thing at a time. I felt it worthwhile to ridicule a racist both for being a racist and for being a thick cunt. In fact, it could be argued the two are related. All in all, a valuable contribution. So you can fuck off with your culture of inadequacy and celebration of ignorance.
