The sad bit is that she would probably have been saved if she wasnt alone
I think that's true. I'm guessing she suffered quite significantly, thinking she just had a really bad stomach. A lesson to us all (especially men) that sometimes taking the pain isn't the thing to do.

Perforated ulcer was cause of death & not brain tumour
My wife had a perforated ulcer and was a few hours from dying - we took her to hospital and she was on the operating table within a couple of hours. Would have been quite easy for her to slip into unconciousness if nobody had been in the house, the pain was so intense. She'd had it for years but nobody was able to figure out what was wrong until that night. When they opened her up they couldn't believe the state her insides were in.

No-one else had the misfortune of watching this pile of guff yet? ?
Yep, lasted 45 minutes. Wanted to die after 20.

Just watched Lion. Great film, if about a quarter of an hour too long in the middle. Very, very sad, especially at the end. Kind of the antithesis of Slumdog Millionaire.

Totally agree - Amazing Series .....The Concentration Camp episode was powerful
Was disappointed with "Pacific" Tho
Third series coming soon. Was originally called Masters of the Air, now called The Mighty Eighth.
Just watched Patriots' Day. Pretty good couple of hours.

I just got Kodi and not sure why you'd need to subscribe to anything like that. I have access to every movie I want to watch (new ones running around three months behind) and pretty much every sports game in the world streamed live (albeit with varying quality).

Loved it, but was really uncomfortable to watch. Kept me thinking about it for a while after.
Indeed. One or two obvious examples come to mind of it happening, but I bet it's happened dozens of times, and there are women out there today trapped in some way like that.

Saw Room the other day, and thought it was incredible. Outstanding performance from Brie Larson, who's got a well-deserved Oscar nom for it. Thought the kid in it playing her son was fantastic as well. Well worth a watch.
Also saw In The Heart Of The Sea last week. Decent enough, but nothing to write home about really.
Booked to see Creed, The Revenant, Joy, The 5th Wave and Our Brand Is Crisis in the next couple of weeks - the joys of a Cineworld card. Not expecting much from the last two, but nothing else to do in January when money's low!
The Room - watched it on your suggestion and wasn't disappointed. Fantastic film! Cheers.

Together with his auld chums Willie Ross, Archie Manuel, George Willis and Willie Hamilton they subjected Winnie Ewing to a disgraceful three years of intense bullying, threats and harassment between 1967 and 1970. This torment of a lone woman will of course not appear in any of the glowing obituaries that will come out tomorrow.
Don't know the full story, but I did hear that it was horrendous and one of them even once spat on her.
To be fair, a couple of Labour MPs did their best to protect her. Can't remember their names, but one just died recently.

Loving Kodi, opening up a whole new world of movies to me.
This year alone I've seen:
Sully - decent, nothing fantastic
Captain Fantastic - loved this
Nice Guys - turned it off, awful
Deepwater Horizon - you get what you expect, watchable
The Girl on the Train - meh
Magnificent 7 - watchable, nothing fantastic (but the last two films have Haley Bennett in them, and that alone makes them worth watching!)
But one great source I've found is to Google Sports Movies, or Football/Basketball/Baseball Movies. Loads of great sports films made every year that never get much of a mention here because they're very American. For example:
Gridiron Gang
The Blind Side
Invincible
We Are Marshall

Ok. the wee bugger!

My son has a theory. A group will apparently come into the story soon, called The Whisperers - people who walk amongst the dead covered in blood.
He thinks this might be the link to Fear the Walking Dead, with Nick (who is forever covering himself in blood) forming The Whisperers.

If you decline first time round you don't get offered again.
Pretty sure you can be. There was some older actor (name escapes me) who's now turned it down three or four times
Anyway, well done to Phil Scraton.

Aye. Met him once. Really decent chap- knows his football.
Saw him break the Guinness record, on Pointless, for knowing most world capitals in a minute. he did it twice as he missed the first time. It was very, very impressive. think he is very funny, with a nice manner about him.

It what the pink shoes may be made from...
Yeah, we actually had that already. we thought it was for the chairs. we sat on 98 for half an hour and then figured out that The dog biscuits one hadn't gone in. Without help and the Web I don't think many coukd finish that.

You'll kick yourself with the guinea pigs. don't think guinea pigs. just the shoes to go!
Actually might have the shoes, we thought the answer to them related to the chairs. so don't know what we're missing.

Neither it is!

Got 95, but there are more than four possibles - pink shoes, liberty doll, clock, cushion, Xmas jumper and medal. the Christmas wreath is nonsense, as us the broken cup.

89, or some really difficult ones, but struggling now

Imagine the uproar on here if it had been a Tory or labour minister
I don't think anyone would have a go at any politician (unless they had a political axe to grind) for driving without insurance.
I've insured two cars every year for 25 years, until last year I forgot to do one. Got caught - 6 points and £300 fine. I thought it was excessive (I've seen people get £100 more for careless driving) but I was in the wrong and paid it without (much) complaint. The policewoman who charged me said she hated doing it because she was aware that the vast majority of people who drive without insurance have simply forgotten to pay.

Didn't see a mentiojn of Leon Russell who died about a month ago. Hugely influential, but not particularly well known.

Never heard of these figures before, which is strange given that when you compare 2000-2006 with 2009-2015, the former is infinitely worse for reading and maths. But then, the media didn't have an agenda before 2007 ...
