Mhairi Black 'neck and neck'!

Edinburgh North and Leith one of the 22 seats. Apparently SNP winning.
BBC reporting the SNP looking most confident in East Renfrewshire.

My niece asked Farron about disingenuous information on indyref and Brexit (I missed that). She had her hand up for 10 minutes during Nicola and was conveniently ignored.

2 NI voices first (anti SNP obv.) then the next 2/ comments were coincidently siting right beside them in the middle of the audience.
Now the BEEB must know that we know its a setup but couldn't care, why should they ? What can you do? Nicola knows it as well but for a reason (that I must say escapes me) is keeping it straight - long, long game?
I think I only heard one Scottish voice when Nicola was on, and that was the young lassie who was the only overly supportive person.

Absolute stitch up by the BBC again on the leaders debate
30 minutes with Nicola
20 minutes about Independence
Yep. Beyond belief. She handled it well. But it was an audience full of absolute raving Yoons, armed with the usual nonsense. And the Welsh wummin. What was that all about?

Del Amitri have probably my favourite B-side of all time - Whiskey Remorse.
And Tom Petty's Stories We Could Tell is incredible.

Pretty funny if you know Midlothian politics

Ah, OK. I was thinking that you must have a very good throwing arm.
I was only about 17 at the time, so it's quite possible my right arm was strong enough to thrown a coin the full length of the pitch. ;-)

The link below appears to show the Tories latest thing, complaining to authority about the big, bad SNP.
Unfortunately for them we have:
1. Footage of them verbally abusing female activists at a rape clause demo
2. Imagery of them invading the space of activists
3. Photos of them inside the SNP gazebo
4. Police evidence of one Tory taking pictures of an activist's son, denying it to the activist and finally deleting them when cqlled upon to do so by the police
We need to watch how we step in the next month.
Oh, and it's a crock. Didn't happen.

Were the England fans not in the Rangers end?
I was at the one where Steve Bull and Gascoigne played and they beat us 2-0. They were defibitely in the Celtic end, near the South Stand.

Talking about old Scotland v England games at Hampden - any auld yin's like me also go to the games in 1987 & 1989, pretty feckin wild (particularly the '89 game) by far the worst crowd trouble i have witnessed. (just about every pub in Victoria Road & some in Shawlands where attacked) mental !!
Prior to the 1987 game England didn't bring many fans north of the border at all IIRC ?
I remember walking up past where Asda is, towards the police station, and seeing hundreds of bottles being thrown back and forth. It was like a scene from 300.
And I clearly remember Scotland fans in the Celtic End throwing coins into the England end, and the policeman next to me, just a young guy, smirking to himself.

Tories are clearly feeling empowered by shouty Ruth. Lots of abuse being aimed at SNP folk today. Just about to head to the polling station for a couple of hours - give me just one Tory mouthing off, just one!

I had her as a tutor, and really liked her. But she's gone off the scale mental, as have her band of sycophants. One was suggesting that Surgeon's miscarriage (I wasn't aware she had one) and Michelle Thompson's rape were also made up. All sense of decency has gone out the window with these people, but the media still refuse to challenge these nutters.

Agree re Felicity Jones.
I also give you Zoey Duetch, the next big star!

They could have halved this series and nothing would have been lost. Very, very disappointed. But tbf, I was expecting to be last night, as I didn't think they could fit an incredible fight into one hour.
Apparently the whole of the next series will be the 'war' with Negan.

Anyone seeing any former SNP councillors, turned down at selection, standing as independents? Two in Midlothian.

Wasn't aware one of my friends actually played with Berry in 1980. Here's the story.

There's a great story about Springsteen playing as his back up band in the early '70s which I mention in my book. In turn this article cites me: https://unionavenue706.wordpress.com/2013/10/17/let-it-rock-the-music-of-chuck-berry-and-bruce-springsteen/amp/

I'm sure most won't have heard of Greg Trooper but if you're a fan of Springsteen, Steve Earle et al you won't be disappointed. I first heard of him in the 1980s when Earle covered Little Sister, Trooper's song about child abuse.
Trooper died a couple of months ago. He was only 61. Despite having been aware of him for 30 years I hadn't heard a great deal of his stuff - loving Amsterdam, They Call Me Hank, Mary of the Scots in Queens, but lots of other great stuff.

Fair point lol. But give Permanent Record a watch.

Hudson in "Aliens" not to mention Severen in "Near Dark" and Hank in "A Simple Plan" werent wooden
Sure, see my point above. Perhaps Paxton tried to do the wooden thing in his blockbusters, but I always felt he was acting like a kid in the playground pretending to be a soldier.

Watched Passengers last night. Thought it was pretty good.
-
Brilliant as Chet in Weird Science! Most wooden actor ever, but very watchable.

Went to see Lion the other night. Cracking film ??
Wee bit grit in my eye at the end though ?
Not sure how anyone can get through that film without finding a bit of grit in their eye.
Right now I'm creasing myself at Florence Foster Jenkins. A bit odd, and won't be to everyone's but Meryl Streep is utterly hilarious.
Last night I watched the Legend of Barney Thomson. Weird. But Emma Thomson was great.

Amid the gloom, here's a nice election day story.
My friend lives in East Lothian, and her daughter, a Scottish Muslim, is studying at St Andrews. For some reason she hadn't applied for a postal, so on the day of the election she traveled back to St Andrews (think that's three trains/buses - Tranent to Edinburgh, Edinburgh to Cupar, and Cupar to St Andrews) just to vote. Voted and came right back home.
St Andrews MP? Stephen Gethins!
