I'm still waiting to hear what the plan is once the SNP take a hammering at the general election

Everyone hoping that a phoenix rises from the flames might be very disappointed

For a start there will need to be another leadership election if Humza resigns and the Sturgeon loyalists will not be happy about that meaning more civil war

Next you have what's left of the membership are those that actually voted Humza as leader who will be voting on the next leader

Then you have the SNP Holyrood mafia - they will be untouched by a General Election wipeout - and virtually all of them supported Humza

Shona Robison, Karen Adam, Christina McKelvie, Shirley Ann Somerville etc etc

    Forbes might not win again

Then you have the 20-30 MPs that are booted out at the GE - they become mainly non entities

The plan is, stop being absolute idiots in government,, the snp could have went into hiding for 5 years and still won the holyrood elections. Once this election hammering happens, you will see all these msp’s doing all they can to save their jobs and that means voting in the most competent politicians the snp have

Yeah but the argument isn't polling numbers. The argument is getting a referendum with regards to circumstances. Indepenence support has been pretty much static with the+-3% error for ages. There is no avenue for a second referendum regardless who is in charge.

It's politically expedient for people who aren't in power to pretend there is to try and get into power.

Let’s be honest, a referendum is off the table for this parliament and the next, we are looking at the earliest 8years time in MHO. The vehicle for Independence has been taken over by a bunch of lunatics, we will need time to mend this then go from there

It's various councillors asking for a vote I think. As stated the membership will decide.

We just need Kate Forbes in as FM now so the fantasy counterfactual crowd will see very little change in circumstances.

I can place a bet of any amount that polling and performance of the SNP will go up if KF  becomes leader of the SNP

Wings has seemingly been on the ball right from the start

£600,000 was raised by the SNP through campaign funding and was supposed to be ringfenced for an Independence campaign

It was obviously spent on other things and when the SNP were asked where it was, Murrell and others have "cooked the books" to pretend it was still there.

How that translates into a two year investigation and the Procurator Fiscal taking someone to court for it i have no idea

Could there be more to it?

I see Mairi McAllan has glammed herself up and went with blonde highlights

She must be the Sturgeon camp's next choice v Forbes

Yes that’s the three, Forbes, McAllen and Flynn,, I had high hopes for macallan however she has been sidetracked by the the sturgo/green brigade

but would I be right in saying she will be going on maternity leave shortly? Hope so

Like mostly everyone I'm fed up saying Humza is a liability and needs to go

However it's got to the state of a cringe every week

The SNP will be lucky to win one seat at the GE if they go into it with him at the helm

He must sit in front of his phone thinking - what can i tweet in order to lose some more SNP voters

I think some on here think I am being dramatic with my projection of a wipe out at the GE,, I am not and want what’s best for the party and independence, that would be KF I am certain of that, I think the snp will do well to get 10 seat as it stands

I have a lot of time for GMK.

FFS. That sounds like something you would criticise Aaid for saying in desperate support of the SNP. A co-ordinated event by someone who is actually trying to round up all the greetin weans, and Alba dont have the time. And they say the SNP arent working together.

I have absolutely no time whatsoever for Tasmina. Never have. The only thing Tasmina is interested in promoting is Tasmina. No idea why AS rates her.

Alba at the moment are an irrelevance, the have no influence in nothing really, that’s why they need to focus on small steps, the Indy vehicle is away to be obliterated, I have no doubt they have a plan

Via the process of not going after I universally unpopular policies, ie!! GRR, HMPA’s, bottle return scheme, hate crime, log burner bans, oil and gas stance, minimum alcohol pricing, higher taxes,, it boggles my brain as to why an “nationalist party” goes after policies like those.. it’s like, what police’s can I go after to put folk aff independence

Oh and forgot about the stitch up of their best politician and best FM we aver had

Still 2 years away for Scottish elections? Not to be negative but it seems things are taking a turn for the worse globally in general. Be interesting to see the landscape in 2 years.

There is a massive opportunity for the snp in two years time, all they need to do is listen to me 🤣 sack humza after the GE replace him with Forbes and regain the centre ground..

Except all these questionable policies haven't put people off independence, have they? At least not according to the polls.

I ask again, exactly how does the SNP force Westminster to concede to indyref2?

But they have put them off the SNP, the vehicle for independence,, regarding getting WM to give a referendum, there could be various ways to do this, I don’t know why the government haven’t used the claim of right even if it’s just for a sound bite as not sure how legally binding it would be,, the current SNP are so timid when they tip toe around the subject. The SNP need to have the general public on board with their government before pushing for a referendum and they definitely don’t have that,, it’s a blessing WM haven’t “granted” one

    Via what process exactly?

Do you think the Tories, when faced with the referendum demand from the Scottish parliament, would have said 'Hmm, the SNP are running a competent non-divisive government, lets give them indyref2'? 😁

As it doesn't fit into the current negativer on this thread I thought I would mention the latest poll that places independence on 44% ahead on no on 42%.

And that’s the extremely worrying part, we haven’t a party that is able to mobilise them yes voters,, I have said it time and again that all the Snp had to do post 2014 was run a sound, competent, non divisive government and we would gain independence,, they have done the complete opposite
