Election now. We demand a people’s vote.
Yeh that’s all scotland needs, starmer with an overall majority, all the North Sea closed down within a decade, 👍

Is there a possibility that swinney is away to throw sturgeon and her cronies under the bus? There’s something more to this than meets the eye,, I trust Forbes and the lad who was going to run, I am guessing is old gaurd with traditional SNP values so swinney has obviously gave an indication that the snp will be heading in a different direction
-
I am even willing to give this a chance, I will vote snp next election if I see a change of direction under swinney

Despite this week being a car crash I am actually quite positive.
We have come out other side in better shape.- The toxic and unpopular green coalition is ended
- Swiney in charge until next election. Swiney is dull but arguably better than Yousaf? Labour going to win back what ever happens.
- Kate Forbes keeping powder dry for 2026 at Holyrood. SNP could / should still be largest party at Holyrood.
While I wanted Forbes as leader it is not a terrible state of affairs. As mentioned above John Swiney likely the patsy who is going to take flak for the Sturgeon saga and a couple of dodgy elections to come.
Forbes is only 35 and her day will come sooner rather than later now.
To an extent I agree with that, I just see it being pre-planned, swinney standing down after the GE, then Flynn swanning up

All depends what post he offers her
I doubt she will accept anything less than Finance Secretary and Deputy FM
From my understanding he offered her any position she wanted

Everything associated with sturgeon needs locked away for good,, there is a clear path back to the centre ground for the SNP,, it needs to be taken
-
Disappointed to say the least, I trust her judgement however swinney is not going to come out unscathed from the sturgeon saga

Confirmed by Forbes's "people", seemingly.
I wonder if HJ has potentially offered her her old job back as a sweetener for not standing. 🤔
Forbes with do what she thinks right, “sweetners” won’t come into it

Anyone that says Forbes will be too divisive needs to be asked about the massive membership drop of the last 2-3 years
I firmly believe we get most of those who left the party back with a Forbes win
-
A bit disgusted at the attacks on Forbes, she is a nice genuine, honest person with beliefs,, if she is not the new snp leader, independence if finished, there will be defections however we need clear of that folk

Stephen Flynn, Mhairi Black or Kate Forbes.
The three outstanding candidates.
I'd back anyone who would deliver independence.
Black? Come on,, aye she has goon one liners,, Flynn I am now very sceptical of as him and swinney are in it together
-
I can’t emphasise how important is that the snp choose KF,, the fact the sturgeonites will put swinney in for two years until Flynn comes back from WM tells its own story,,
Humza went off script and payed the price

If Swinney or Robertson get it the SNP can switch the lights off
I actually believe the MP’s apart from cherry, blackford and a few other are totally oblivious to what sturgeon and her cronies have been up too,, get all those close to sturgeon on the furthest back, back benches

Especially when they have previously managed the club and been ineffective at best.
Another leadership contest. At least by retaining my membership I can have another say but if no one is nominated that I feel is competent for the job I wont bother voting. Picking the best of a bad bunch is pointless plus I am not encouraging a party that just makes the same mistakes again.
Has anyone got confirmation of Alba’s demands yet? It would be good to know if they were taking the piss or the high heid yins will just never entertain AS.
From what I can gather, there was no demands
-
Swinney is up to his neck in the salmond scandal, keep clear of him

It's going to be John Swinney.
The sturgeonites are petrified that KF gets in, John swinney and Andy’s Robertson are up to their eye balls in the salmond saga
-
Well those who voted humza in were warned, now hopefully they see the bin fire sturgeon has left, humza seems a ok lad just hadn’t it in him, never had or will.
best case scenario, KF elected, have a WM election first then onto a holyrodd election. Snp remain biggest party but will be a minority.
worst case, holyrood election called imminently

Did you see the terms? Alba - a party with microscopic share of the Scottish electorate was asking SNP to stand down their candidates in seats Alba were contesting. Why would you even bother? It is signing away seats that the SNP fought long and hard to win over the years so that an Alba candidate can stand in their place and win inconsequential amount of votes? Why?
Was that actually true though? I read it wasn’t

True, Humza may also go on to win the Conference.
Going by by-elections, he’s not Won a game all season, got a few thumping as well

An extremely strange position we are now in, the greens now saying they would vote against humza, and alba saying they will in with the snp. I happen everyone remembers this, alba have a purpose and that is to help gain independence, the greens have used the climate and independence to further their creepy ideology

...and Neil Gray....it would be like a Mickey Mouse version of the John Swinney era.
Haha I was thinking along the same lines only couldn’t put it any better than that

Possibly so.
I also remember a couple of months ago she tweeted something about having to call an ambulance for her daughter, so maybe the wee soul has a problem and she wants to devote more time to her. Hopefully her daughter is okay though, and if she isn't standing it's for a nicer reason.
I think I would too 😟 I didn't think they'd be able to find someone with less charisma than Anas Sarwar but they might have! 😂
🤣
It would be a shame with Kate as I truely believe she is the one to steady the ship,, I would rather watch paint dry than listen to gray 🙈

I think the Greens will vote against Humza but maybe not against the Scottish Government, if that vote was to happen? They can be quite clever about this if they want to.
Or, do Humza, Salmond and Regan already have a secret wee pact sorted out? At least Scottish politics is a wee bit interesting for a few days again.
I think there’s something to that, I think the next few days may well show who the nationalist are within the snp and who are careerists

The most exciting day in Scottish politics in ages and the board fecking crashes 😂
Humza rumoured to be on the verge of quitting with Neil Gray taking over.
Haud me back. 😕
I would rather stick with humza 🤣
