  1. TBH I have been expecting this for years...... Chelsea don't have a great record in recent years of bringing youth players through, so I never expected him to make it there...... and any time I have seen him play for the U19's and U21's, he was clearly not a team player (though the Skill was there..... granted shown in very brief glimpses, or at club level)..... my thoughts where confirmed when he started holding the SFA to ransom that he should be moved from the U18's to the U21's.

You were the guy who said a couple of years ago that Chelsea fans* were clamouring for Feruz to get a game for the first team.

He won't be the first player who had potential to fail to fulfill that due to having a shocking attitude.

Thing is, you just don't see him being the sort of player when he is cut by Chelsea to take it as spur to drop down, work hard and prove everybody wrong.

    *guys from Malaysia on Twitter.

  2. Is it true to say that rangers may have been another Clyde etc if not embracing the religious agenda back in the day ; as queens park etc were bigger / similar size club and support

    Third Lanark too maybe ?

That theory - which is certainly an interesting one - is more about what would have happened had Queens Park turned professional and not stayed amateur and that they and not Rangers would become the Scottish establishment club.

That would have been at the turn of the 20th century and the religious aspects didn't come to the fore for another 20 years or so.

  3. Vogts took the pish out of it for me with Devlin, Stockdale, Quashie and Dobie. Tommy Miller was another one he got to declare for Scotland but he never got capped. Vogts even asked Alan Thompson if he had a Scottish granny, seriously !

Devlin doesn't fall into that category. 100% Scottish ancestry and never wanted to play for anyone else.

  4. Sorry that is tosh. And in any case it is just not 45 minutes we are talking about here (and what a 45 minutes against the world champions). He has been a regular in the Scotland side in recent times when we have improved immeasurably and our results have improved so evidently he hasn't let us down either. Also just remember this forray to Bolton will be his first spell outside the EPL where, until now, his career has been in the EPL with Aston Villa and Palace.

Apart from previous loan spells at Leeds, Derby and Blackpool.

Still I'm sure that Neil Lennon will be able to get the best out of him unlike Alex McLeish, Paul Lambert, Nigel Clough, Simon Grayson, Ian Holloway, Tony Pulis and Colin .

The best thing that Shaun Maloney does for Scotland is keep Barry Bannan out of the team.
