Will be interesting to see how Karamoko Dembele gets on tonight against premier league opposition.
Has done well at league 1 but this is the level he’ll want to be playing at.

McTominay should have scored in the dying seconds for Man.Utd
Gilt edged IMO & I think he knew that !!
Played well when he came on though.
But that was a huge chance…

We are 16-1 to win at home tonight but were 9-1 in a close defeat away from home in September.
Do the bookies actually believe that the players don’t care about this game?
-
McBurnie sent off for two yellows. Apparently both elbows that could have seen red card…
Had a good chance to prove himself against a team of a similar standard too
-
Not saying that McBurnie deserves to be in the squad at the moment but he was pretty unlucky to not score in his early Scotland caps. From memory he has hit the bar/post twice with headers and had a 20 yarder off the bar.
Lots of early subs off (most of the time because he was shite) and late subs on hasn’t helped his goals/game ratio either.
Wouldn’t rule him out but he’s got a lot of improvements to make at club level first.

Kyle Joseph got a goal and assist for Blackpool today. Dembele won a pen (scored by Rhodes) and assisted Joseph.
Joseph looked like a promising as an under 21 a couple of seasons ago. Has scored 19 goals in League 1...seems pretty good for a 22 year old. Would obviously need to step up a couple of levels to get a look in at senior level though.

Mad that Haaland and Sorloth are both out and they’ve still got a first choice La Liga striker to choose from.
A Norway/Scotland combined squad would probably win the Euro’s 😂
-
Worth noting that Livramento is in the England under 21 squad and was name checked by Southgate for doing well this week.
Staying with their under 21s for the time being and then re-assessing in a year or so, when he’s not eligible, probably makes sense to him.
-
Lawrence pulled out of the squad and wingers Fotheringham and Denholm called up to replace him.
No Dembele still…

Christie just signs a new long term contract, then tonight he creates the most chances in the Newcastle game 👍
Played as a central midfielder too. Think he’s played this deeper role a bit more for them this season.

Mebude is a continuity selection, as per my post. If Dembele had been available throughout the last few years he would potentially have been given the same benefit - players who turn up every time get picked. It’s exactly the same with Clarke.
The rest play in different positions.
I stand by my post, who do you drop from the squad for Dembele? I don’t think there is anyone.
Probably Lawrence (apparently a right winger too) because he’d start for the under 19s but sit on the bench for the under 21s. He also hasn’t proven himself at Dembele’s level. And probably Mebude because he can’t be match fit.

Is it? Which of the forward players in the squad would he replace? He's had what, 300 minutes in League 1 (the English one, he got almost zero time in the French one). He's predominantly a right winger - he's up against Doak (not sure that needs further comment) and Mebude for the right wing slot. Mebude is well integrated into the squad and potentially has a higher ceiling so I wouldn't be keen on that swap.
I expect he hasn't been selected because he isn't good enough to make the squad. Had he been continually involved over the years perhaps he would have, but he chose not to be so isn't.
Mebude hasn’t played since august, has been injured and had only started in one 45min half for his club who I assume are similar quality to Aberdeen, Hibs, Hearts. So I was surprised to see him.
Not sure where Emilio Lawrence plays but he’s only 18, still eligible for the under 19s, hasn’t played any senior football or for our under 21s. Not sure why he’s involved unless very good. I’m guessing he’s a central striker.
Bowie hasn’t scored in the same league as Dembele. Not saying he should be dropped but shows the level we’re picking from.
Dembele’s 3 goals and assist for Blackpool does seem like he would have got a call up if he hadn’t changed allegiance 4 years ago.

Yes he was injured. Got subbed at half-time the other day with a twisted ankle. Still a fair chance City will ask he is not selected.
Both him and Odegaard were named in the Norway squad today
-
No Dembele in the under 21 squad. His form is good enough to be called up so potentially isn’t available to be selected.
-
Livramento is quality and will likely get England or Portugal caps.
If he chooses us at this stage it would be a big coup. And would obviously show he has full commitment to us.
But looks like he’ll be heavily involved in England under 21s, could win a trophy followed by an England squad place when Walker and Trippier retire.

Watched the game, Clark was shite
Might mean Gordon comes straight back in. Won’t be ready for Scotland games though.

Some goal from Karamoko Dembele live on bbc2.

Not a bad interview, I wonder how long he will stay as a coach? He did mention that he wants to go back over there.
It would be nice to know who the players are from the MLS with a Scottish connection. Does anyone know who he was talking about
Jack Elliot is the one that’s been spoken about a bit before.
Cameron Harper maybe? He’d be absolutely miles away from our squad though.
-
2nd goal of the season for Karamoko Dembele at Blackpool tonight.
Not 21 until February so probably should be in our under 21s if he’s up for it.

Our only chance of winning the group is for something outrageous to happen like Spain getting 2 men sent off early against Georgia or Cyprus. Or for us to beat Georgia and Norway 8-0 or something. 😂
4 points might be enough for pot 2 but I think 2 wins would guarantee it and that’s what we should be aiming for.
6 points and we’re definitely pot 2.
4 points and we’re pot 2 unless Austria win both their remaining games.
Although there doesn’t seem to be much difference in quality between these pots.

I think he is fit but he made a big error against Burnley few weeks ago and hasnt played since.
Hmm, Cooper hasn’t really been playing for Leeds either.
Makes losing Tierney a little worse considering they’re our only left sided centre backs.

Caroline Weir now needing ACL surgery too 🙁
Gutted about this. She is clearly one of the best woman players in the world and we as a nation (and the rest of the world) haven’t appreciated this.
Hopefully she gets back to her best.

The commentary is so biased. Even when giving credit to our strikeforce they add both were born in England. FFS.
Yeah this was bizarre.

Some slightly controversial ones your missing (but no more than some of the ones on your list).
Siriki Dembele at Birmingham
Karamoko Dembele at Brest
Livramento at Newcastle
Scottish players in action 21/22

His run for his missed chance was very good. Just didn't look confident one-on-one.
Definitely far more hope than Feruz. He has senior goals and assists in League 1.
Has a really nice touch and an eye for a pass. Does seem a bit moany on the pitch which isn't usually the best trait.
