  1. As someone who suffers with severe anxiety and depression I can understand Carlises pain but I don't get the drinking to combat the pain. I know many people who suffer similar issues as he and I do and none of them use drink as there release, most who drink to escape the pain have underling alcohol problems. Ffs alcohol is a depressant and people with mental health issues should avoid consuming it in vast quantities.

What Clarke did in December shouldn't be thought of as normalizing mental health issues, if anything it will bring more stigma to us.

Neil Lennon lives his life everyday with depression and has a high pressure job; this should be thought of as normalizing mental health issues.

All that being said I hope Clark Carlise gets the help he needs and gets some treatment.

  2. tell me why he could not get a game for rangers again?

Because mccoist is an utter phud who wouldn't know his erse fae his elbow.

In league 1, the league was over with God knows how many games left and Telfer got 1 substitute appearance. Either telfer has gone up many levels in ability in a short period of time or Mccoist is a phud. The fact the Rangers higher arachy, mccoist and the coaching staff didn't know his contract was expiring; kind of suggests the latter

  3. Positives:

Robertson's goal was a lovely piece of play.

Russell came on and was very impressive; his link up play with Robertson was impressive and they seem to have a better understanding than Robertson and Anya.

    Some decent passages of play.

    Negatives:

Robertson's lack of awareness at both goals (he's only 20 so, I don't want to be too harsh).

Overall despite some decent passages of play; we where quite poor. England set up in a way that made it hard for us to stick to our natural game and deserved their win.

C.Martin, the difference with him upfront in comparrison to Fletcher is redicoulous, anyone who slates Fletcher and wants someone else up top, either doesn't know anything about football or has an agenda. Our best passages of play in recent game have come when he is up top. He may not be a predator in the box but his link play, vision and close control are far superior to anyone else we have up top.

Marshall and Gordon's kicking abilites. Marshall's kicking ability seem to go backwards every game we play; quite a few wayward kick from Gordon also.

All in all England deserved their win and tbh I said to my dad before the game this is a friendly to us, whereas for England it will be more like a competitiive match. The game meant more to England and you could see it in their performances.

Out of all our players I'd give pass marks to Robertson, Mulgrew, Russell and D.Fletcher

  4. The drop in quality when Fletcher went off and Martin came on was huge.

Fletcher's hold up and link up play is first class. He allows our attacking players to get up the pitch and threaten the opposition. He's our best striker by an absolute fecking mile. I don't give a feck if he's not scoring, as it's his play that's giving others chances to do so.

I rarely agree with anything you post, but this is spot on. If it wasn't for his link play and vision we wouldn't have equalised in Germany and in Poland.

Anyone wanting naismith upfront alone, should re-watch the last 5 matches and watch how much better we are when naismith is in behind Fletcher and not up front himself.

  5. Ha ha ha ah Lichtie you really haven't a clue do you?

Even the staunchest knuckle dragging loyalist doesn't consider N.I. a nation. If anything they would consider Great Britain as their nation given their allegiences.

Just to educate you a wee bit. Wales and Scotland are nations and so is Ireland. N.I. the UK and the Republic are only jurisdictions.

Well the 2011 census doesn't quite agree with you as the percentage of people who consider themselves northern Irish is around the same as those who consider themselves Irish

    http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_Northern_Ireland#Religion

  6. Flora - in the North maybe. The Republic remained neutral in WWII.

While the Irish were neutral during WWII, they were assiting the allied forces by the end and as said by others many Irish moved over to fight against the Nazi's

  7. For me the combined Ireland/Scotland team is

    Marshall

    Coleman M.Wilson O'Shea Robertson

    Brown McCarthy

    Snoddgrass S.Long McGeady

    S.Fletcher

I went for Fletcher over Keane for one reason his hold up and link play, Keane will score more but S.Fletcher with those 3 behind him would create a lot of space for them by dragging defenders out of position, then holding up the ball for those 3 to exploit the space.

I went for Long over Naismith as I feel he offers the same movement and work rate but is a better finisher.

  8. How many people in his past have said he should stay another year and get first team football? It happened at queens and Dundee United, everytime this lad has moved up a level he has taken it by storm and why should this time be any different, rather than playing it safe, we should have a little faith in Andy Robertson.

If this chance comes along he should take it, he has proven time and time again he is more than cabable of stepping up to a new level.

When you factor in that Monreal isn't the best and that Gibbs is as injury prone as Diaby, I wouldn't suprise me if he ended up first choice by the end of the season

  9. Technique and passing wise McCarthy is a far superior player to Brown, but in terms of mental awareness and the job he does I would consider Brown a more effective player in the position he plays for us (Not a better player).

In all honesty while they are both defensive mids they don't play the same role. Brown is a ball winning mid and Mccarthy is more of a deep playmaker (who'll get forward).

We both have good and average players.

We have better keepers and a better left back, you guys have a better rb and central defence.

I think we are very compareable Midfield and strikers wise and in those areas we are very similar in quality. Obviously Keane isn't the player he was but he is still a massive goal threat.

All in all we are pretty evenly matched

  10. ..................... Marshall .........................

    .. Hutton .. Martin .. Hanley .. Robertson ..

    ................ Brown .. D.Fletcher .................

    ....... Naismtih .. Morrison .. Anya ............

    ...................... S.Fletcher ......................

I can see Bannan starting on the left with Naismith up top and S.Fletcher on the bench

  11. Hopefully.

Gordon, Hutton, Kennedy, Brown, Fletcher and McFadden should all have been close to 100 caps by the end of their careers.

Gary Naysmith from the previous era, I thought he'd end up close to the record caps number but alas injury after injury after injury stopped his progress and he finished at just under 50 caps

  12. Gordon - when fully fit is the best all round keeper of the 3.

McGregor - The best shot stop stopper of the 3 but is more prone to mistakes. His save for Rangers against Werder Bremen is for me, one of the greatest saves of all time

Marshall - Has really improved his all round game and has proven himself to be a top keeper.

For me it's Marshall, he's been outstanding since getting the Jersey and I see no reason to disturb the back line by changing keepers in a competitive game. Against England I would give Gordon the first 45 and if he's back fit McGregor the second half.

  13. Martin played for another country up to under 19 level.

He jumped ship cos he's too pish to get a game for that country now.

Guys like him bring us down.

Cameron Burgess played for us up until under 19 level but has now switched Australia...

Nationality is a very fluid thing and people from mixed origins can often identify themselves with one or both nations... My mate born here from Indian origins, loves both counties and identifies himself as both and said if he ever played football he wouldn't be sure which on to choose.

Point is you have no idea how he feels or how anyone feels about nationality. Many players switch between nations at youth level

  14. To the guy that said whats changed,we are now the only constituent part of the uk that has ever voted to be a member.

Someone should probably tell that to Northern Ireland, who held a referendum on remaining part of the UK or becoming part of a United Ireland in 1973
