šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£šŸ¤£ really, I canā€™t blame you for thinking that given how ludicrous the party has become but sadly that has more to do with the greens than the British state!

Rainbow Greens petitioning their leaders to end Bute House agreement. The fact that they want to do this on the basis of pausing puberty blockers rather than on the abandonment of some key net zero targets (which you'd think was a priority for environmentalists) says a lot about the priorities of some in the Green party.

Seems like the lad has benefitted from his time at Northampton and should be ready to move up a level next season. A season or 2 in the championship then move up to the epl if he's good enough should be his next move.Ā

Bowie's always looked useful every time I've seen him play for the u21s. I'm sure they'll be clubs that are interested in himĀ

Wings has seemingly been on the ball right from the start

Ā£600,000 was raised by the SNP through campaign funding and was supposed to be ringfenced for an Independence campaign

It was obviously spent on other things and when the SNP were asked where it was, Murrell and others have "cooked the books" to pretend it was still there.

How that translates into a two year investigation and the Procurator Fiscal taking someone to court for it i have no idea

He's obviously innocent til proven guilty but with such a long running investigation you'd think that it doesn't look good for him. After that the question becomes, as it would with any organisation, who else knew?

The other thing that puzzles me as a party member is if they were short of funds, why didn't they simply ask their members to donate a bit more. It seems so unnecessary.

Are the forensic tents outside his house yet?Ā

And William Wragg still hasn't resigned and all the Unionist papers seem to have totally forgotten about the guy who gave out his work colleagues contact details without their consent to a stranger, an action that would have probably have got him dismissed in any other job.

For me it says a lot about the fragmentation in the independence supporting parties. The people of Scotland should all be up for such events - park egos and self agendas ands show a united front for Scottish independence. Why the disagreements amongst people supposedly pulling in the same direction? We already are up against it with lack of national media support and in denial Westminster without in-fighting.

Absolutely. The daft thing is that these rallies are often attended by members of all these parties who do actually realise the need to work together but their leaders can't get their act together.

I think you might have missed the point of this legislation. The main idea is to try to reduce the number of young people taking up smoking in the first place. How many folk are going to think about taking up smoking when they reach 44?Ā

The human race is a bit crazy. We have know for at least half a century that smoking kills people, and it's probably going to be another half century before we decide to ban it. All to put huge amounts of money into the pockets of already very wealthy corporations.Ā

I do get it, I'm just not entirely sure how it will work in practice. I think it's a good idea but am surprised that the Tories have brought it in, not only because smoking rates have declined massively but being concerned for the health of the general public -its not what they're known for!

The same way you check if someone is 17 or 18, I guess. It does seem absurd asking people people who are in their mid-forties for ID though šŸ˜„

That's what I don't get. I'm surprised the Tories have passed it, back in the day they got loads of money from the tobacco companies. It certainly goes against the libertarian wing of the party, no surprise that Johnson and Truss were against it. I used to teach a lot of health education at school so part of me is quite pleased, both of my in-laws died of smoking related diseases but genuinely I'm just really shocked that the Tories are doing something that doesn't actually seem to give them votes and increase their chances of hoovering up some more votes.

Absolutely. There was a point (at least in my mind) when we had Hickey, Patterson and Ramsay all playing (relatively) often and well plus Johnstone breaking through and the prospect of Gray and/or Livramento possibly playing for us too. It seemed an embarrassment of riches, and now we are scraping the barrel.Ā

Also the lad Ashby who went to Newcastle from West Ham. I don't know whether he's injured but I don't think he's featured much for Swansea on loan.

Pity Archie gray doesnā€™t fancy a near guaranteed start.Ā

Shame. He's been playing right back and midfield, both positions where we picked up injuries yesterday.

Don't know much about Taylor but ex St Mirren & Scotland under 21 midfielder Ethan Erhahon has had a great season for Lincoln apparently . Still only 22 & a natural holding midfielder.Ā

Lincoln have had a good season but probably won't creep into the play-offs.

Max Johnston is a "used" sub most weeks, so he's definitely getting more game time than Ralston and Paterson.

I get that he's uncapped at senior level, but to say you have no idea why he should be near the squad is a bit daft, when right back is a significant problem area for us at the moment.Ā

I know it can be a big leap up from u21 level but he's always done well for them, though may be better going forward than defensively.

When everyone's fit Clarke has tended to pick about eight midfielders in his squads. Five starters:McGinn, Gilmore, McTominay, Christie, McGregor. Then the subs: McLean, Armstrong and Ferguson.Ā

So the question is who would he call up to replace Ferguson, Connor Barron? Any other ideas?

LewisEDI must have posted just before me, so Cairney and Gauld might be possibilities, anyone else?

    Yes agree.

Confirmed as long term knee injury, what a shame for the guy.

Terrible bad luck for him and for us. We don't need to have too many injuries in midfield to suddenly look very shortĀ

pretty dangerous situation just now. Ā It would be bad news if we end up with an all out war of Israel v Iran.

I do wonder whether that was Hamas plan from the start. They must have known how Israel was going to react to the horrific events back in October. End game: get all their mates to pile in (possibly Iran egging them in from the start), wipe Israel of the map, job done.Ā

Via the process of not going after I universally unpopular policies, ie!! GRR, HMPAā€™s, bottle return scheme, hate crime, log burner bans, oil and gas stance, minimum alcohol pricing, higher taxes,, it boggles my brain as to why an ā€œnationalist partyā€ goes after policies like those.. itā€™s like, what policeā€™s can I go after to put folk aff independenceĀ

Sounds like the criticisms that Alba would make of the SNP. My frustration is that Alba have had a couple of opportunities to put their popularity to the test but have not done so.

It should also be remembered that several of those policies were not just SNP/Green but we're also supported by Labour, the Lib Dems and even some Tories. Cole-Hamiltin and Sarwar always avoid scrutiny, yet have a go at the SNP for policies that they've supported. As far as the DRS is concerned the UK Government has just kicked that (I recycled) can even further down the road, though they've been promising it for years!

I would agree that SNP/Greens have been very poor in communicating and/or implementing many of the policies you mention but several of them, in terms of their aims, are right e.g MUP, DRS, Hate Crime, progressive taxation etc.

    Hickey wonā€™t be in Germany.

Patterson has no chance really of playing at Everton this season unless they have a catastrophic injury crisis in that part of the defence. Coupled with a pretty disastrous game against NI he shouldnt start in Euroā€™s. But he will, as thereā€™s nothing else. He just has to step up. Easy to say as itā€™s his confidence that is shot, and the booā€™s make it worse.

Having watched NI back, as well as the calamitous stuff, I think he still has it and can be a class above other options, but needs the confidence. Has to be 90mins and good performances in both of the friendlies.

I hope so. Ralston is not as good as Patterson or Hickey but I don't think he's ever really let us down has he?. I also remember an unfancied Stephen O'Donnell having Jack Grealish in his pocket at the Euros a little while back so not quite time to despair.
