Enjoying watching Ripley at the moment and the guy playing the lead role is very unlikeable so it probably excellent acting.

Gonna give Ripley a try next 👍

Just finished Ripley and enjoyed it. Thought parts in a couple of episodes dragged a bit (the cleaning of the stairs for example) but good overall.

Think I've still only seen one other person mention Slow Horses. That's well worth a watch, decent soundtrack too.

Watched Deadloch on Prime after being recommended . Its a bizarre comedy whodunnit set in a fictional town in Tasmania. I found it funny , it wont be everyones cup of tea though and there is a lot of swearing but I found it funny rather than offensive. I wasn’t sure at first but glad I kept going with it.

Deadloch is bonkers 😂 Yet I watched it all and (think) I enjoyed it! It’s one of those that you’ll either hate or sort of enjoy.

Just finished Baby Reindeer and enjoyed that. Based on a true story of a comedian that ends up being stalked by someone he was kind to. Written by and main character acted by the guy who was the victim. Worth a watch.

It’s a clip taken from a film - Shadow On The Earth. Pretty sure the full film is on YouTube.

Set in a working class community in Scotland at the end of the 1950s it is a beautiful examination of idiotic adult divisions, social, religious, political and sexual, as seen through the eyes of Billy, an incredulous but obviously intelligent small boy. Billy and his somewhat less sensitive chums seem to pick up the multi-faceted bigotry, anger and paranoia of the surrounding grown-ups and distill this cocktail into their fear of a local shy and light-averse albino man, who they gradually convince themselves, is an alien from outer space.

    Calm down Taylor96

Ah yes, Taylor. I remember him. Think he morphed into Whelky. Both not as bright as Chripper and appeared a lot younger by their use of shortened words like lol, cba, cam, cb and so on but they were similar to him with their arrogant posting style.

The SPFL are opening an investigation into Dundees 3rd postponement of the season.

It's the right thing for them to do but I doubt they'd be doing it if the game wasn't going to be on Sky. It does make our game look amateur and won't help any future tv negotiations with them.

Maybe Dundee have done the Scottish game some good after all!

I believe it’s just the old firm for now

Rangers with their party songs along with  Celtics pyros and rushing turnstiles causing overcrowding of people in the stand who don’t actually have valid tickets

I guess it's something (a start) but I think it needed to be a 100% ban if it's those two clubs for those reasons. A partial ban will only (possibly) stop one of the three you've mentioned. Even if the ban was for a season to start with, then a 50% allocation trial then back to normal if it was effective. The downside to this is it punishes the true supporters of the clubs but maybe they need to get involved in preventing it?

The statement doesn’t name any actual club. The response from Rangers fans on social media tells you everything though

The derby will be cut soon though. Anne Budge has already spoken about cutting back Hibs in future if the fans can’t behave. No chance of the wee arse holes taking heed of the warning and Hearts will cut Hibs and Bibs will reciprocate

I was in no way sticking up for Rangers btw, good to see a club making a stand but the statement just wasn't clear. Are they cutting Rangers allocation by 50%? Aberdeen by 20%? Killie10%? Hearts 0%? Or all the same except Hearts? Certain songs, objects being thrown at players and officials etc, clubs need punishing but how long have we been saying this?

  8. Is it just Rangers allowance that's being cut or all away teams except Hearts?

The Leith club, who stress that the reduced allocation does not include games with derby rivals Heart of Midlothian, stated: "Whether that be through the use of pyrotechnics, sectarianism, objects being thrown on to the field of play, or through other actions, this is simply not good enough.

"Understanding that the behaviour of certain sections of Hibernian FC's own support has not been good enough at times this season, the club has been taking the strongest possible action against those who behave in an unacceptable manner, working with Police Scotland and colleagues at other clubs.

"Hibernian FC now implores other clubs to act in a similar fashion and the governing bodies to take serious consideration into the issues to ensure Scottish football is safe and welcoming for all."

Hibs say they have now taken the step to reduce the away allocation at their stadium "following fan behaviour and chanting from opposing teams this season".

Watched the first series of The Traitors ( uk version) over the last week or so as I never saw it when it was originally released.
Not sure whether to watch the current series. With this type of programme sometimes its better to stop than risk it becoming repetitive and familiar .

Not sure what you decided but I'm watching the second series and enjoying it more than the first. Couple of little twists that have kept it interesting. Agree that it will probably fall away if there's a third or fourth series. I'm sure it's not everybody's cup of tea but if you enjoyed the first one I'd recommend watching the second one too.

Watched a few things during and after Christmas. The best by far was Slow Horses which I thought was excellent, Gary Oldman is superb in it. Don't think I've seen it mentioned on here but it's definitely worth watching.

For long I have thought the "Keep right on to the end of the road" chorus to make a great Scotland chant. It starts off low in the register, but gradually moves up the scale, rising to a crescendo with "Where all you love that you're deaming of". And then the last line has a great rhythm "Will be there" pause "at the end" pause "of the road". It is easy to sing, and very dramatic. Plus an iconic Scottish song, so we do not have to borrow from another culture. Plus the words are a great metaphor for having a fighting spirit in the face of adversity.

Also, like another earlier poster, I would like to hear a return of "Get In Tae Them".

Birmingham City fans agree with you.

Between you and Bobster with yer doom mongering  spoilers it’s hardly surprising I spend my entire life anticipating disappointment .

Oy! I guess you’re talking about Ray Donovan? Don’t know how far you got with that but I think it was series 5 or 6 that I didn’t enjoy but overall I liked it.

Orraloon made a couple of really good recommendations in Fisk and Bump. Not sure I’d rate them in the same order as him. I think I’d go Colin from Accounts, Fisk then Bump but all funny.

I’m the same as Fairbairn and came on looking for a light hearted suggestion after also watching a few dark, depressing series. Will probably stay clear of Tulsa King though 🙂
