I'll sum up the Old Firm.
In the last few years they had the chance to sign:-
John McGinn
Lewis Ferguson
Kevin Nisbet
Lawrence Shankland
Scott McKenna
Ryan Fraser
And made no move to sign them. Why? They prefer horse shit bargain basement foreign tripe.
Front two of Shankland and Nisbet would win the champions league?
How many SPFL players have the Of signed since Fraser left, I am assuming you don't mean the recent availability

A tad ironic given your username.
Lol, got a higher in gaelic too they just can't find any football pundits who speak the language.

Yep in Sunderland. Live on STV (although it's ITV so expect insufferable commentary).
Not on bbc Alba? Even more insufferable commentary

Far greater likelihood of a recall for Jacob Brown I reckon.
Or Oliver McBurnie. Who is the best player in the world ever according to the Sheffield United fans who see him week in week out.

I'll have my say about Lindsay again even though it's mainly from reading fans opinions, I've seen him live but only thru beer tinted glasses from the PNE away end .
Overall he seems to be a strong defender but seriously limited with the ball so reckon the only way Clarke would chance him would be in the centre of a 3. He is only 27 so you never know he could perhaps long term replace Hanley but as we all know we have a few established alternatives for that central role so unless there's a injury crises I just don't see a window for Lindsay to get in.
I guess also Hyam was in the last squad right? I expect due to being more technically solid he will stay in or around the squad for a year or 2 & hopefully over that time some younger better quality options will emerge to replace the older/veterans like Hanley, Cooper & Hyam.
21 hours ago, theabsentee said:I'm not knocking him, I believe he was even good enough to make the SPL team of the season a few years ago. I'm just saying from reading about him on the Barnsley & Stoke forums there was too many fans say consistently how poor his distribution was .
Well who scored agree with you both there, his pass success rate for a central defender is shocking.

I guess you mean a number of Preston fans?
Preston are top of the league and who scored have him as their best player, he's also in their team of the season for the championship so far

Liam Lindsay being called as the best defender so far this season in the championship by a number of fans.
He's about 28 and a couple of our squad players are the wrong side of thirty. We don't really have much depth in central defence. Couple of injuries and he won't be far of a call up.

Bet he want the only one. Just looking at how they lined up. Doesn’t look like it suited him at him at all
Thats the feeling in the Man united board.
Might check ot the first manager to be sacked odds.

Wish McTomminay got the fk out of Man Utd. Basket case of a club, arguably the worst run club in the league. Won’t be long till there’s another new manager in there
He really was awful today, 22 touches for a midfield player in nearly 90 minutes is really something.

I wondered how long it would be before someone said this.
I can't be bothered checking, but has it honestly taken this long.

Specifically on the Betting aspect of it. I checked Paddy Power an their odds are 1/12 for Scotland to finish in the Top 2 in the Group. So, if they finished 3rd and qualified via the play-off, you'd still lose. Which is quite interesting.
But, for qualification purposes, you are bang on the money! And to be honest, I don't really Gamble so that's 100% the important bit!
I just went through oddschecker.com to see the best price and it just said qualify.
Guess England never need play offs.

Norway would have to win all three games and Scotland would have to lose against Spain and not beat Georgia. Odds on that is 0.88%. So we have at least 99.12% chance of qualifying. Grab that 12/1 on offer at Skybet!
And even if all that happens we've got a play off to fall back on.

Doak, Barnes and Fraser in the next squad excites me.
Need to be a very big squad.

It really is.
Any gambler from outside of Scotland would happily put a decent amount on Spain getting a minimum of 4 points from their 2 games in October. If they do that then we are on our way.
If the price was right😏

What age are you ffs? Sexist old man.
I suspect most of the pissheads that used to take 6 cans and a half bottle of Whyte and McKay to games were no more knowledgable than the pissheads that go to the games today and plenty of people who do go today, including women, are very knowledgable about the game.
Read the post properly and you will see that I said I was told by an old man a few years back who remembered the hampden roar..i also said no disrespect as it was not my view.
Ii also said that my daughter knew more about football than I did.
So my comments were far from sexist.
My grandfather on the other hand was a totally different generation........

I assume it must have been the wives of all those knowledgeable male supporters that had the brains to read the ticket schedule to get them in…..
OK, I asked for that.
My wife has no interest, but my daughters will look after me from now on👌.
Both regulars at the games and my 25 year old knows more about the game than I do and the 15 year old makes more noise.
Time to retire I think.

Exactly that, and it has been the case for a number of years now. Its up to the fan to keep a track on the sales schedule.
We're going to have months now of complaints over ticket allocations and how people are hard done by.
At one point, pre Slovenia 2017, I was on full points but took a break as we'd had children and priorities over that meant it wasn't feasible. I'd missed one game since 2007
I missed out on Euro 2020/1, but I took it on the chin as there were more members who'd attended more and were rightly rewarded for their loyalty.
As it stands, I think I'm back on 15 points, I was in Cyprus (I planned ahead and booked early) and hope to be in France too - I can't make Seville due to it not being the school Holidays.
I'm hoping that'll be enough to get me to at least 1 game in Germany, and if it is, then great. If not, I'll still be in Germany and hope to get lucky.
For the SFA to change the rules now would be a kick in the teeth to those most loyal. I appreciate finances coming in to play, but people sacrifice a lot too. I've friends who don't have 'Summer Holidays', and their time away is solely for Scotland games.
Thank you.

And thank you.
I'm assuming neither of you think I'm stupid or on the wind up!

The Hampden roar is present when the moment dictates. Noise during anthems was as loud as you are likely to hear. Many top pros have said that a bouncing Hampden isone of the loudest stadiums they have played in. Im sure Gary Neville recently said that he has never been in a stadium that shock like Hampden was during the 2-2 game.
Wasnt about in the 60s etc when there was 100k but id be surprised if there was 90mins of constant noise back then.
Like most things in modern day society. The minute something gets a name and the name becomes useable / sellable / marketable then it losses something. I find it cringey when the announcer asks to hear the Hampden roar, in the same way I hate when people talk about the "tartan army".
No disrespect to current supporters but the 100k crowds were male and knowledgeable about the game, there was constant noise as people tried to talk over other fans with massive surges when something was happening. Or so I was told by a grumpy, sinical old man a few years back. As for the tartan army always thought that should have stayed as it was at first and just apply to supporters abroad.

Just have to wait and see what flag Sky Sports put after his name this weekend.

I think you’re missing the fact that there’s a full sales schedule.
For example, the statement might be that you need 18 tickets to guarantee a ticket in the first sales phase, but it then cascades down a point at a time into other sales windows - all subject to demand obviously. For a friendly like Austria, you might have needed say 16 points to be guaranteed a ticket, but demand was so little that it cascaded down to being available to 0 points. You’re not going to get notifications from the SSC other than them outlaying the full sales schedule at the beginning. That tells you everything you need to know.
So somewere at the begining, there is a schedule that gives dates for when lower points members can get tickets , ie 12 point members can apply on the 14th of Sept , 11 pts on the 16th, 10pts on the 18th etc etc.?

The 63.5% odds are specifically to come 1st in the group. WGF are usually pretty good at this stuff, but I reckon they have a typo in their spreadsheet somewhere
11/4 with our friends at SkyBet to win the group.
Still get 1/12 on us qualifying which is a bit of a worry.
Scottish players in action 21/22
