Just got a whole lot worse. McBurnie apparently out until the end of the season.

I wonder if changing the wording from support Palestine to ban Israel has anything to do with the flood of names?
Much more acceptable.
-
Looks like my definition of support is different to everyone else’s.

Well that's just nonsense.
Plenty examples of sport being used in a positive way in politics. During apartheid etc.
Good point.

I don't get the negative response to this. Either sign the petition if you agree or don't sign it if you don't, or generally abstain from thinking about it if you like.
As the original poster mentions, international sport by design includes political implications for the organizers especially, even given the general cliché that sport is free from politics associations do speak up on issues when it suits.
You think everyone should encourage Scottish sport to support terrorism. The fact that Israel’s response has now reached a point that can’t be condoned does not make the initial Palestinian action acceptable.

Sport should have nothing to do with politics.

Christie supposedly, yet again, playing well in the deeper role (even with Bournemouth losing)....
I’m a bit annoyed that Clarke didn’t look at him in that position over the recent friendlies.
Wont learn anything against Gibraltar and next to nothing against Finland even if he does play him deeper there.

The same could be said about Che Adams who only committed himself to play for us once we qualified for Euro 2020. Plus he rejected call ups from us previously under McLeish and in Clarke’s early tenure.
Patterson is definitely out. He’s done his hamstring which is going to require surgery. I like Livramento as a player but he’s said on numerous occasions that he wants to represent England at senior level at some point in his career. So that’s out the window. Looking at the options unless Hickey can make a miraculous return in time (praying that he does🙏🏽🤲🏽), I think it’s probably going to be two players selected out of Ralston/Johnston/McCrorie. Ralston hardly gets a game at Celtic and I was surprised why he didn’t push for a move in January even if it was just on loan to a club that he can get himself regular game time. Johnstone doesn’t get much game time himself and only makes the odd sub appearance for Sturm Graz. McCrorie is the only one that has been playing regularly but I don’t know how he’s been doing at Bristol City.
According to a certain stats site he is pish.
Ralston on the other hand is an above average SPFL player and is kept out of the Celtic team by a very good player.

Depends what you mean by criticism. Only reason I'd criticise someone is a lack of effort.
I’d criticise the manager for much less. In fact you could blame him for any player lacking in effort.

Pity Archie gray doesn’t fancy a near guaranteed start.

Doesn’t look as bad as he did for us.

If Patterson doesn’t start another game this season then he won’t be match fit either. I’d rather Hickey than Patterson if I’m choosing between two players who’ve barely kicked a ball this year.
Hickey is a no brairner Patterson has been pathetic that’s were the problem lies.

I trust Clarke to make the right calls and manage this pipeline of young talent in the right way, until any meaningful issues arise in that respect.
I’m not sure how much faith I have in a manager who totally wasted the recent friendliesv and has gone seven games without a win and let in a bucket load of goals

Handful of decent performances?
I think I remember 1 game where he played ok. The rest he was absolutely honking. Couldn't control or pass a ball.
There's a reason Clarke doesn't pick our only epl scoring striker. Normally we are crying out for epl strikers but mcburnie doesn't get picked. There's a reason for that.
Clark’s a muppet?

His passing is miles better than Dykes over the last few seasons according to the stats. Adam’s is better still and both of them have been playing in the EPL were I guess it is harder to complete passes.

I think having three goalkeepers is a rule.
Before you get corrected, three reserve keepers make four.

If McBurnie had a chance, he would have been called up for the friendlies unless he was injured like Ryan Fraser. I think he was fit, though.
I don't want to take Dykes because of credit in the bank. I want to take our best players and I'm sure Dykes understands how it works. For whatever reason, he's been poor for a while and he's only there by default in my opinion.
Hardly played in January February and march due to injury’s or being rushed back too soon so there was no way Clarke was going to pick him.
Only me and The Saint would have called him up. -

I agree. Any manager (not just Steve Clarke) would need to be immensely brave to make such a decision and it would be a huge leap in faith for a player who has just not done the business for us in the past.
If he ccntinues to perform and stay fit Clarke will pick him.
Am I the only one who has noticed that we are seven games without a win.
Out of curiosity when does not doing the business in the past equate to not doing the business in the present.

3 Scots starting in the Glasgow derby today: Taylor, Wright and Souttar. There is a pretty good chance none of them will make the final Euros squad.
I almost created a new topic about this. I really can't see why the SFA would not think a homegrown player rule would be a good idea. If the 2 richest teams in Scotland had an incentive to spend their money on Scots, then a lot of the money they generate would stay in Scotland, rather than going to other countries.
Imagine a rule existed right now. Celtic and Rangers would end up in a bidding war for Lennon Miller at the end of the season. Rangers might have made more of an effort to sign Shankland in January. Both Hearts and Motherwell would benefit financially. They would then reinvest in developing more Scots to replace the ones they lost.
More likely go for Barry bannan and calum Paterson.

Tickets were changing hands for £1000 for the Brazil match in 1998. Stupid to pay that or stupid not to sell?

Christie immense for Bournemouth again. If you were to believe stats sites he is one of the best players in his position in the EPL.
