  1. Away and bile your heid.

If it was you or me who did this I'd be saying the same thing.

He's stated he did everything else bar the ticket as he tried to harvest.

He's had way more important things on his mind than Scotland tickets, rest assured.

And that's to be respected by all on here, whether you agree with the decisions he took or not.

As for the SSC representative, that person needs a crash course in empathy and humility.

  2. Sorry but you had time to organise the sale of flights, hotels and tickets but not to reply to the SSC which would take a matter of minutes.

You're moaning because you got caught.

I empathise with your personal circumstances, but the SSC have to keep it fair.

Bugger off back to the 'The Rangers' threads please.

Which, as you know, are all about when 'Rangers' (RIP) got caught.

Double standards as always from the defenders of the indefensible.

  3. He's due it anyway for THAT goal.

Always sorry to hear of a player having to pack it due to injury, however in this case (hip injury) it sounds as though his basic mobility could be under threat in later years.

    Sincerely hope not.

  4. I'll tell yous this, you don't have to put up with this kind of shit from Ticketmaster when you buy and sell tickets for a David Guetta concert.

Fair point - you can put it on eBay etc and make a legal killing, despite the so-called T&Cs on the back of the ticket.

  5. Although it was a different scenario, I too have had a less-than-friendly call from the SSC in the past about something I posted on here. They do monitor the TAMB, something which doesn't quite sit right with me. It has certainly made me more reluctant to post my opinion on here.

Forgive me, but how did they manage to identify you?

  6. Just to be clear AR, I assume your emphasis is on the "ball playing" there rather than the "young" i.e. you're not suggesting Rhodes isn't young?

I have no real issues with the squad WGS has selected, mainly due to the fact that we have a fair bit of choice, but I'm not buying this "doesn't fit into the system" nonsense. To me there has to be at least a little bit more to this than meets the eye. I don't care what anyone says, there is no way that a player of Rhodes goal scoring credentials can be ignored due simply to his "style" of play. Systems need to be changed when things aren't going well and I can think of precious few players I'd rather chuck on with 20 minutes to go when we badly need a goal.

I fully accept that he's probably not a first choice striking option, but definitely warrants a place in the squad.

I'm with you - after all Kris Boyd was named in a squad this time last year when he was on form.

As an aside, I don't buy this 'when we are 2 or 3 goals up' assumption.

Have a look at our last two results against Georgia folks, and get real.

  7. While I sympathise with your situation, you broke club rules by selling on the tickets. You should have returned them to the SSC for them to be passed on to another member. At the end of the day, you have only been given a warning, and I dont think you will be doing it again, so nothing lost, apart from the money.

Nonsense. There's a time and a place for being inflexible and this wasn't it.

Scott had way more important things to deal with than abiding by SFA's 'rules' as is clear from his post.

I know from direct experience of a similar situation in 2007 that was wonderfully handled by Alison Jack.

The SFA under Regan just do not do sensible.

  8. David Clarkson.

    On his debut:

"He came on as a substitute in the match, and scored Scotland's only goal in the 85th minute when he" "skilfully gathered in a cross, turned beautifully inside the box and drilled the ball home" "past Czech keeper Petr Čech".

Not bad, for a total of less than an hour on the pitch for full team.

    Excellent goal it was too.

Shame it got lost in a poor result.

  9. Some don't remember or wants to acknowledge some of the fine displays he had for Scotland due to other issues, prime candidate for this thread.

The miss against Belgium, injury call offs and v's signs are always brought up, no-one mentions his work rate in the France victories, getting us out a hole in the Faroes or the Italy 2007 game when he outshone Pirlo.

I'm not championing him as a Scotland hero, just vastly underrated what he gave to us on the park.

Now, quite a lot of that I can accept. But underrated, no way.

A twat for the v-signs when Captain of our country, injury call-offs, and his deliberate booking v Moldova to get him out of the trip v Slovenia? Damn right he is.

Funnily enough, the beneficiary of his selfishness v Moldova was one Paul Hartley.

Barry Ferguson has no place being mentioned in a thread championing the virtues of lesser recognised guys like Graham Alexander, Paul Hartley and Gary Naysmith.

    Press release: Livingston v Rangers

Having spoken with our programme editor today and, before having the opportunity to discuss fully his comments made in the match programme of 4th October, he informed me that he wished to tender his resignation from the position with immediate effect and this was accepted.

The club do feel that the editor has used the medium of the Official Match Programme to express his own personal views.

Once again, I can assure all fans that there is absolutely no bigotry or sectarian issue or intention at Livingston Football Club and I can only offer my sincere apologies to the club and any fans who have been offended by what was written as there was no intention to offend anyone.

As far as Livingston FC are concerned, we consider the matter to be closed and will make no further comment.

    Gordon McDougall

    Chairman

    Livingston FC

Shouldn't have been necessary to make that statement.

The Rangers' inability to accept the reality of what happened two years ago is utterly shameful.

  11. Quite simple really...

Which Scotland players from the past perhaps never quite got the credit they deserved ?

I'd nominate Graham Alexander, Paul Hartley and Gary Naysmith from recent years.

Three good no-nonsense players who never failed to give their all in a Scotland jersey. I'd be interested to know how many assists Naysmith got for Scotland, pretty sure he set up a few goals for us.

    Any other suggestions ?

Wonder if we can put together a decent starting XI of underrated Scotland players.

You've nailed three of mine from this century.

Don Hutchison should have been recognised long before he ever was.

Because I'm an old git, I'll add Jimmy Johnstone. 23 caps was an awful return for one of the best players Scotland has ever produced (normally seen by me running rings round whoever was unfortunate enough to be playing left-back for Thistle in the late 60s and early 70s).
