  1. WTF are you on about? I contributed to this thread with a comment on the subject of the thread.

On the Charlie Mulgrew thread, you said feck all about Mulgrew and instead had an unprovoked dig at me.

The two are in no way comparable

Parkie - on the other thread, I agreed with runningtings assessment of Mulgrew with Brown by using the word 'This'. I mentioned your name because of your well known dislike of Charlie Mulgrew as a player, presumably based on his stint at Aberdeen. It was intended to be humorous and nothing more. So a false accusation on your part there mate. You give it out, you gotta take it too.

Let's not get personal about it.

On this thread, you answered a question that was not directed at you, and in doing so (to me) you appeared to apply a different logic.

    Anyway don't get stressed - nobody's dead.

I'll happily buy you a beer whenever we coincide - you sound like a guy that fancies a decent debate.

    :ok:

  2. His statement on 19th September:

"I welcome the decision of the Scottish people to maintain the unity of the United Kingdom. This outcome is good for the united, open and stronger Europe that the European Commission stands for.

The European Commission welcomes the fact that during the debate over the past years, the Scottish Government and the Scottish people have repeatedly reaffirmed their European commitment.

The European Commission will continue to engage in a constructive dialogue with the Scottish Government, in areas under its responsibility, that are important to Scotland's future, including jobs and growth, energy, climate change and the environment, and smarter regulation."

    Eurospeak for

'Thank the gracious Lord Scotland didn't do the right thing and vote for independence, because the EU would have had to make policy up on the hoof to accommodate the will of the Scottish people.

We are so thankful for a no vote.'

  3. Dare I also suggest that Mr Charlie Adam may be ideal for this fixture? Brown, Adam and Mulgrew should be good enough for a physical battle, eh?

You are entitled to suggest it, of course you are.

But unless there is a mass flu epidemic, I would not expect Charlie Adam to be anywhere near a Scotland squad anytime soon.

  4. I caught the counter staff taking a photo of my visa card and also leaning over the counter to look at my pin number.

He even forgot my order he was that much in a fluster.

Well dodgy and texted home to get card cancelled straigt away.

    Apart from that great trip.

    In GORD we trust

This may seem like a daft question, but why were you using your card at the stadium?

That question asked, I saw a few odd things that went on in official places (currency exchanges) which suggested to me that regulation and enforcement in Poland isn't all it could be.

  5. I do wonder though if there is not more to this absence? I mean for all we know maybe he has called time on his international career? I say that because you'd expect perhaps a reaction in the press from him for not being selected but there has not been a dicky bird from him in months. I find that a little odd.

Maybe keeping quiet because he fancies a call up and doesn't want to alienate WGS?

  6. Back on topic - as runningtings alludes to, Mulgrew and Brown together in central midfield complement each other to good effect.

Mulgrew has improved tremendously as a player since he was moved from left back - he's developed another dimension to his game which has been spotted by WGS and from which the national team has benefitted tremendously.

  7. So in a thread about Charlie Mulgrew, to which i have had no contribution, you post about me?

What a bizarre thing to do.

Anyway, i'm away to have a pop at you in the misheard song lyrics thread.

    Toodle-pip

    Aw diddums.

  8. Wow. You logged on to a thread just to have a pop at me.

Not at all mate - look at the title of the thread - it's called 'Charlie Mulgrew'.

And then look at your numerous past contributions on this board about Charlie Mulgrew. They are self-explanatory.

Your inflated view of yourself is getting ahead of you once again, Parkie.

  9. Only saw brief highlights of yere games against the welsh mate

Not gonna make a prediction on either of the ireland/scotland games - just know that these will be fiercely contested tight games by 2 good teams and 2 sets of fans who want it passionately

Just on this "Irelands last minute goals" thing.......off the top of my head Ireland have only scored last minute goals just 3 times in the last 7 or 8 years .....albeit 2 of those times have been in difficult away fixtures in this group.

Think our "last minute goals thing" might be slightly blown out of proportion tbh Jeck mate

Hi Green Tide Rising - any chance you could get rid of attaching 'the greatest commercial ever' to all of your posts?

The first one was fine and acceptable..........................

  10. What about this:

3 points from the next game

    and then

3 points from the next game

    and then

3 points from the next game.

We ARE good enough, and we have to believe we are.

Remember all those people (many on here) who felt 4 points from the opening 2 games were acceptable in the last campaign?

This time WGS has transformed the team and the way they approach the games.

I walked out of both Dortmund and Warsaw thinking that we could have got more out of both games with a little more belief in ourselves - because we are good enough. Warsaw in particular, we merited taking the lead and promptly went 'Eeehhh............what do we do now we are in the lead??'.

Well, here's a thought - how about carry on doing what you had been doing brilliantly for the first 57 minutes!!!

We can - it's about us, and not anyone else.

WGS has done an excellent job with the same core squad that the previous incumbent subdued with his negative attitude. He's instilled a mentality in these guys that is wonderful to see. They believe they can win every time they take the field - let's have the same confidence as supporters of the team.

  11. UEFA have made a rod for their own back with this one - these two should have been kept well apart in the draw due to the tensions over the Kosovo issue, not to mention Serbia's previous in Genoa 2010.

Now UEFA have to decide firstly, do they replay Tuesday's fixture and if so, where and under what restrictions, and secondly, how do they guarantee safety at the return game in Elbasan next spring.

Both sides (of politicians) are complicit in Tuesday night's events, before, during and after the game. The rhetoric from them since then pretty much assures that these two fixtures cannot take place peacefully. In which case, why bother playing them at all.

And as for Michel Platini's comments today about the drone could have potentially carried a bomb - he wants to keep his mouth shut until he's researched what he's talking about. Talk about lighting the blue touchpaper.

  12. now that's a stadium even the toilets were like a night clubs cant wait for the polish to arrive at hampden thanks SFA for charging me a fortune to sit in an embarrassing shitehole

Got to say the toilets in G10 were pretty smelly - reminded me of Firhill on an average Saturday.
