There was a period about 15 years ago where the Jags never seemed to stay in a division for more than a season going up and down between SPL and Div 2. Not sure how many players would have stayed through all the promotions and relegations.
Kenny Arthur was with Thistle throughout that period (97-07).

I'd give Berti credit for giving quite a few young players a game. He still made some daft decisions.
Neither were great players but Dougie Freedman and Robbie Winters (when he was playing in Norway for Brann) should really have been given a few of chances under Vogts to show what they could do. Both were at least small improvements on Crawford, Thompson and Kyle anyway.
Always thought Barry Nicholson would have been a decent option for us in midfield rather than some of the dross Vogts picked for us in that area.
Just my personal opinion but I always thought Paul Gallacher was a marginally better keeper than Rab Douglas. Obviously though, the Glasgow press would have went ballistic if he'd picked a Dundee Utd player instead of any Old Firm player.
Anyway, those days are past now. And let's hope that in the past they bloody well remain !!
I recall Freedman playing in Paris and he was way out of his depth.
Mind you so was everybody that night, except Paul Lambert.

This one's never been officially released, but it's a belter nonetheless.

Yep i received a text too. Just as well you can't reply to it.
When signing up, did we give them the right to spam us with marketing e-malls?
My recollection - and I admit I could be wrong - was that it was only for registration purposes.
-
Anyone else get a text today from the SSC screaming LIMITED AVAILABILITY for Scotland v England?
-
Celtic appear to have a problem putting games to bed, that was 2 points lost and now celtic have to win against salzburg , if salzburg win at Parkhead then that would really feck things up as i cannot see celtic getting a result in kiev.
Agree with you on that.
Especially as Kiev aren't in the group.

Poor fishing m8.
But you still nibbled the bait!

It was probably written by the Marketing Department and approved by Darryl Broadfoot for publication.
The dismissive approach to their customer base clearly knows no depths.

Guess they've got to justify charging you £70 a month in some way or another...................
-
No. Whittaker and Robertson for me.
Whittaker just does not inspire confidence - second goal in Warsaw stemmed from him fluffing a clearance.
Which was a shame as he otherwise had his best game for Scotland that night otherwise.

That's the point though mate, I'm not actually judging it one way or they other. Please don't think for one second I'm condoning this sort of thing or trying to defend it. I can remember reading an article a month or so ago saying the case was probably going to be dropped due to lack off evidence to support any claims.
Totally take your point regarding Logan, but McIness and Aberdeen FC? They are surely just backing their player in the same way Celtic are no? Unless McIness did actually hear it as well given how close it was the the touchline. Guy at my work again has just said it was apparently clear as day to Tonev's connotations although again what was actually said remains a mystery.
The thing that I find strange is that if the evidence was so overwhelmingly conclusive as to warrant a 7 match ban, why are Celtic appealling? One theory (again coming from the same Celtic fan) is that Logan has apparently changed his statement since making the initial complaint.
A question for all on this thread. What do we make of the punishment? Should it be more? Should he be sacked?
If there is conclusive proof he should be sacked and that's a given.
If the proof is not conclusive though, he should not be given 7 games or even any games, that's for sure. Irrespective of the team he plays for, you cannot hang a guy on the basis of presumption or supposition.

From Hand of God to Hand of Fud.

the 0-0 away was a decent backs to the wall performance i recall - weir outstanding in defence
the 0-1 at home was a killer blow -WS seemed to have no Plan B up his sleeve - Kenny allowed to chase lost causes himself up front in a game we had to win to stay in contention - i think the same day norway won 3-2 away in slovenia , so effectively game over
Minsk was Weir's first appearance as a turncoat IIRC.

Well, there were 3 people in Cream....
Got it now........apologies for being so slow.

Some bassist. Didn't realise he was I'll till I got in touch with his PR in March to arrange a photo pass for a solo date and they replied to say it was cancelled due to ill health.
Didn't realise how serious till now, never thought of it.
RIP jack, it's a shame you never outlasted the mental case and the racist.
Wow - care to divulge more about the last sentence?

Sadly at 71.
Smashing musician, who was openly a Rangers fan.
Hope The Rangers manage to arrange an appropriate tribute at their next home game.
Here's one of his best.

0-1
Cooking up nicely now - even if it was that fud Pepe.

Ah well, let's stoop to a new low for Labour. Just when one thinks they can't get any worse, they somehow do.
Without wanting to come over all UKIP, may I suggest someone fluent in English.

About as well as every other one I make.
Fortunately I backed under 2.5 goals at 6/4 about 15 minutes in to the game.
Notice you are not mentioning the staked amount, Parkie.
Did that cover your original bet?
No wavies needed.

Shite game. Dons played pish and still dominated for all 93 minutes.
Motherwell are really bad. Can see them going down.
Sorry to bring this up - but how did your bet go?
-
eh no. Italy were always going to win the group and i wouldn't fancy our chances in a play off against another 2nd placed team from one of the other groups.
I accept that it's about opinions - my view is that we were a better team than we had been the previous tournament where we had reached the play-offs.
We messed it up at the beginning for sure, but we still had realistic chances of a play-off spot when WS came in up until we codded the Belarus game.
No idea anymore who was in the play-offs, and that's speculation anyway. The important thing is to be there, and we weren't.

As it says on the Herald web-site.

What a horrible game of football that was.
Referee bottled giving Lasley a red, probably because his yellow was so farcically undeserved (I cannot believe I just wrote that).
-
it sounds great to be there but for the pubchair fan it was awful to watch. Wouldn't have minded a dire or dyer game if we has sneaked a win somehow. The 2 games before this one were our downfall. (0-0 slovenia and 0-1 Norway)
As were 0-0 in Minsk (not a bad trip at all!) and 0-1 at home (Hleb after 5 minutes and thereafter..............no reaction). WS could and should have got more from us in both of those games.
That was a section we should have qualified from, no contest.
Dons V Celtic
