Lol your going back to the war. I was more talking about last 30/40 years. Yes theres been some good ones like Leighton and goram but we haven't countless great keepers in the last 30 years. I also wasn't talking about respected, tried and tested keepers. I was talking about genuine top class keepers who could play at a big European club.
Since the 80s:
Leighton (Aberdeen, Man Utd)
Goram (Rangers, Man Utd)
Douglas (Celtic)
Gordon (Hearts, Sunderland)
McGregor (Rangers, Hull)
Marshall (Celtic, Hull, Derby)
I'd say we've done very well for keepers over the years. Plenty big clubs in amongst that lot and other than the Rab Douglas era there hasn't been a time when keeper has been a worry for us.

Tiger takes a 10 on the par 3 12th 🙈
And then birdied five of the last six. Incredible.

Rather not put yourself in the position to find out. Waste of energy - concentrate on your own game.
Anyway, hopefully he (and the others in the team) will learn.
We looked a lot better after the break. Not sure what that means if we win the next match, but no reason why they can’t do it.
edit - looks like we’re out. Red card one of the things that cost us.
I'm not sure why you think we're out? Top of the group by virtue of a better head to head against the Czechs, so beat Greece next week and we win the group.

I'd go:
Marshall
McTominay Gallagher McKenna
Tierney Robertson
Jack
McGinn McGregor
Armstrong
Dykes
But I think we'll line up with Tierney playing LCH, O'Donnell RWB and Christie off Dykes.

Started the West Wing but not sure about it. The first 3 episodes havent grabbed me, does it get better ? Dont know if I can tolerate that Mandy character for even 1 series , never mind 20 years of the show.
@slasherjust remembered you were considering This Is Us, did you watch it and if so did you enjoy it ? I loved it, having withdrawal symptoms waiting for the next episodes.
It does continue in a similar vein to the first few episodes, although once you get to know the characters it's much more absorbing.
SPOILER: Don't worry about 20 years of Mandy...

I've now got my handicap index from the Scottish Golf website. It is exactly the same as my old handicap, to the decimal point. Once I apply the slope rating and the handicap allowance of 95% I'll be playing off exactly the same as I was before. What a lot of fuss about nothing.
However, one of my pals has gone up by 5 shots so instead of giving him 7 shots, I'll now have to give him 12. I might need to contact the handicap secretary about him.
That’s a pretty good example of the system working, assuming the majority if not all of your scores were recorded at your home course?

5.2 to 3.8, course handicap of 4.

They’re doing the usual routine of leaking the plan to gauge public opinion before actually committing to a plan. Cowards.

Looks like Killie could be in hot water:

Details are scant but hard to tell at this stage what they've done that would mean they had to forfeit points when no-one else has yet.
Also why do St Mirren players/staff keep getting it?

Former Aberdeen manager Ebbe Skovdahl has died at 75.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54586993
He was some man and it's fair to say that despite pretty "mixed" fortunes (bottom of the league and both cup finals in the same season), he was almost universally liked by Dons fans.
RIP Ebbe.
EDIT: Didn't realise this was mentioned in another thread but I'll leave it up as it's maybe worth a topic of its own as there are plenty stories to tell about the man.

Asking who fans would replace their current manager with is a silly question. Its not the job of fans to dp this. Just becausr we cant come up with suggestions yo replace a manager we feel isnt up to the job, does not mean we should be happy with who we have.
Mcinnes has been at aberdeen for 6/7 years, hes hardly in the bracket of not sticking by him. Most dons fans will be happy with him but standards have to be raised soon.
If it isn't a fan's job to replace a manager, what qualifies a fan to decide the manager should be replaced?
Given the general irrelevance of the supporters' opinions, it's not unreasonable to ask "who do you think would do a better job" when someone's called for a manager's head, imo.

Do you know when ? It was a brilliant series.
I'm just at the end of season 4 of the West Wing: on my third time around. Could almost literally watch it all day, although seasons 1-3 are streets ahead of the others, even though Sorkin was also in charge of season 4.

Two points, which I can't be bothered going back and finding the posts they relate to:
1. Isn't Gallagher right footed? Could he be right centre back if/when we need McTominay in midfield?
2. Andy Considine isn't Aberdeen captain, Joe Lewis is.

The rankings must be due an update this week. Beating two teams currently ranked above us will surely see us jump a few places.

What has he done in a Scotland jersey to deserve to be called a liability?
So he can’t be an accident waiting to happen because the accident hasn’t happened yet? He was by far the shakiest of the centre backs who played this week, and given two who would probably play ahead of him were missing then I thankfully don’t fancy his chances of featuring much in future.

I think our first choice back 3 will become....mctominay. Cooper. Tierney
Cooper’s a liability. McKenna in for him.
-
The difference Ryan Fraser makes to the team is stark. His pace and running in the channels gives the team an out ball that it just doesn’t have without him. For that reason, he should be playing every single game for as long as he shows the commitment that he has this week.
-
Cooper’s mince and the further from the squad he remains the better 👍🏻

Surely at some point. He was very young first time around but must be close to hitting the "right" age about now? Came across as a great guy.

I see the phrase "buy time" repeatedly quoted in relation to this circuit breaker stuff. If severe restrictions are re-imposed then the Scottish government sure as hell better have some highly visible and effective progress on how they plan to contain this to show at the end of it or they might as well forget any kind of public support for future measures. Otherwise this is just a panicked "fuck, we've lost control of it again and don't know what to do".
Be interesting to see what they say about schools given that plenty council areas are due to have the kids back in what would be the second week of this "lockdown" too.

Aye i posted it earlier. It's really informative though , gives great context to the situation 👍
Oops, sorry! It's worrying that there isn't some kind of consensus on how to handle this, surely WHO or a similar organisation should or could be collecting all data and leading discussions rather than every government going at it on their own.

Apologies if this has already been posted. It's a long read but potentially explains why Asian countries appear to have been better at controlling COVID outbreaks than the west:

It's probably just general frustration but I'm getting sick of blanket approaches to this. When you look at where all the new cases are, 3/4s of them are in the central belt yet we're all subject to the same restrictions. Would imposing travel bans with differing restrictions per area be so bad?
This rumoured fire break is nonsense and is a sign that neither Sturgeon or Johnson have any control of the situation whatsoever.
