Griffiths goalscoring record at celtic is impressive. Its like a goal every 138 mins according to transfer market. If he was French or another nationality he would be appreciated alot more by Celtic fans and some epl team would of offered big money for him imo.
I think the problem with Griffiths is he is far from the model professional. I like him a lot but there is always something with him, and that is why he's not been able to secure a big money move.

Sutton thinks he can't play 60 minutes never mind 90.
I normally like Sutton but he was pathetic last night as he did everything he could to blame anyone but his mate Lennon for the recent pathetic displays we've had.

I kind of see the guy as a long awaited new and improved version of Darren Jackson.
Darren Jackson is footballer that has come closest to punching me. Probably deserved tbh.

I agree but I feel he offers a creative spark we don't really have without Fraser. Even if it's from the bench.
I've been really disappointed with Middleton's lack of progression (still time) and so I hope Johnston can step up soon.
I guess this goes back to the Gauld discussion. Christie, McGregor, Forrest, Armstrong and McGinn are all great but Fraser is the one who can spark.
I agree about Middleton. I thought he'd be doing a lot better than he is now.
I personally think getting the best out of Fraser is the absolute key to us being able to kick on. He creates chances, he can score goals and he wins a lot of free-kicks all over the pitch. Great player that should be playing for a team that plays in Europe every season.

Tonight is a match Celtic really should be winning if they have any ambition to get into the knock-out stages.
Tough match for rangers but Benfica got hammered at the weekend, and rangers seem to do well against teams from Portugal.

Bump.
Bumping this up as Steve Clark said in his interview that he was hoping to get into pot 2 for the next W/C Qualifiers, a long shot , it'll be difficult he says but the chance is there,
We need to win obvs before any options come into play...
But good to see that we are looking at these methods seriously .
It would take 3 wins and a bunch of results to go our way.
We aren't going to win 3 away matches in a row.

Tom McIntyre started for table topping Reading and they lost 3-0 at home to an average Preston team(they do have a good manager though)
Preston have the best away record in that league...and the worst home record. They are a very strange team this season.
McIntyre did give away the penalty which opened the scoring. I think he's getting blamed for the second too in what was a really poor match for him.

Daily Record reporting that Mikey Johnston is back in training. Really hope he develops as he could be a good alternative to Fraser.
Johnston isn't anywhere near the same level as Fraser. He could still be a good option but I find him frustrating but accept he is still young.

Andy Robertson would be East Fife's best player
John McGinn would be Falkirk's best player
Scott McTominay would be Arbroath's best player
Were exactly does such a pointless primary school discussion get us ?
How many East Fife, Falkirk and Arbroath players are in the squad? 🤣
The point is, Hanley is a better centre-back than some of the others in the squad. He has more experience at a higher level (both English Premier League and International) than all our other recognised centre-backs.
He probably won't play against Serbia, but he is a much better player than he is credited for by many Scotland fans. He is comfortably a bottom half EPL / top half Championship player.

The painters and decorators have visited the forum yet again I see.
Not a fan of Hanley but if he gets on the park and plays well then I promise I'll be the first to hold my hands up.
Griffiths is back ! Can he and Lyndon Dykes or Oli McBurnie form a good partnership ?
I don't get the stick Hanley gets. Hanley walks into the Aberdeen and Motherwell teams. I'm not sure all our other centre-backs walk into the Norwich team.
Also worth noting that Robertson is the only outfield player in the squad with more caps than Hanley.

I'm very happy with the squad, Leigh back, more defenders that even though McTominay was ok in the last games I would prefer him in midfield and glad to see Armstrong there.
Only James Forrest missing so far from what would be our strongest squad available. Maybe Gilmour too.

Gilmour has now been added to the squad. Great news for the player and team.
-
We will qualify if we beat Croatia and Greece beat Czech Rep (they play the day after we play Croatia).
I think two draws would be enough too.

Good to see Hickey and Kennedy called up.

How's Welsh doing?
Tough going for him but must be a nightmare playing next to Duffy.

Wonder what his level is. Like Aitchison a decent championship club possibly.
He badly needs to play first team football but expect he could have a god career in the championship and with a bit of luck, lower end of the EPL. However, he could also end up dropping right down the leagues.
-
Charlie Gilmour has left Norwich. He needs to get the right move this time.

Graham Alexander for me. Seemed at first to be one of Berti's scattergun call ups, but turned out to be a reliable fixture in the side for quite a few years.
This is who I was thinking of. Living in Preston I knew all about him and did not think he'd make the step up.
In the current squad, Liam Cooper is the one that I'm changing my mind on the most. Big season for him but if he keeps his place in a good Leeds team, I might be eating some humble pie.

Just Stephen Welsh and Callum McGregor starting in the Glasgow derby today.
Bain, Taylor, Ralston, Turnbull, Henderson and Griffiths all on the Celtic bench. Christie and Forrest not available.
McLaughlin and Jack on the rangers bench.

Can understand the sentiment but O'Donnell is a glaring weak link in that side and had a few jittery moments in the last three games. Same rationale to considine, did well but I'd feel more comfortable with Tierneys pace to tuck round and if our other centre halves are out position.
Would be amazed if Tierney played right wing back
Agree about O'Donnell. He did well for the two goals this week but we can't wait until players give us a reason to drop them before doing so. You need to go with your strongest available XI. Clarke has some big decisions to make and I bet he is fucking delighted with it!!

The team I would start with V Serbia:-
------------------Marshall------------------
----Gallagher---McTominay--Cooper-------
Tierney--------------------------Robertson
-----------Jack----------Mcgregor---------
-----------------McGinn-------------------
------------Dykes----------Fraser----------
It's hard to argue against that team. A big decision will need to be made on Tierney. Too good to leave out but the defenders that have played have been good.
That team with options like Armstrong, Christie, Forrest, Burke, McBurnie and Griffiths on the bench has a chance against Serbia. The wait now is to see who is actually available next month. A big factor could be about which squad avoid covid the best!

There is no way Kolarov, Milenkovic and Milinkovic-Savic won't be available for Serbia.
