That's what us canadians call it..

A franchise is a business whereby the owner licenses its operations—along with its products, branding, and knowledge—in exchange for a franchise fee. The franchisor is the business that grants licenses to franchisees.

(Was speaking off the top of my head.)

Scotland v Canada at the WC later in the year would make life interesting for you 2 back in 🇨🇦

Travelled to support Scotland at Mexico 86.

It was Canada's first and only World Cup.

I never went to any of their games.

Went to a Canada/Scotland friendly in Toronto in May 1992.

Wore my kilt and supported Scotland.

I cheer for Canada on the TV and would be proud as punch if they qualified for Qatar.

    1. No idea whether they sing the songs, I've never been to a Rangers game with any of them.

Just thinking that if I were talking to match-attending fans of the Rangers, knowing that they were RC, my first question would be how they felt about being in a support that was openly directing hate towards RCs.

    2. No idea if they're practicing Catholics either, but given current church attendance figures I'd doubt it.

Of course, I'd doubt they have any affinity with Roman Catholicism (so saying that they are RCs supporting the Rangers is misleading).

Show me a photo of RC priests wearing Rangers 1872 scarfs wrecking Manchester and I'll buy into what you're trying to say.

It would be like having a photo of a person claiming to be vegetarian eating a Big Mac. The question of just how vegetarian they are would naturally come into play.

I've known a few Catholic Rangers fans over the years, albeit a small set and I've been around a while.

    1. How does that conversation come up? (And do they sing the songs?)

    2. Daily/weekly practicing Catholics, or "I was told my family has a RC background, so if I get married or my child gets 'baptized', then I'll do it in a RC church"?

I honesty dont mean this as a ctiticism but do you see that you have picked up bigoted language (whether you meant to or not) and continue to use it. I assume you and your mates didnt invent the use of the term diet hun and as you say you have seen it used elsewhere.

I hope you can see from my explanation about the context of the use of the word that its not used to describe Rangers but linked to people who are protestant or in favour of the union. Id never criticise somebody unless they know better. You now know better I hope.

The away support of Rangers 1872 were described as 'marauding huns' by a journalist any moons ago.

It stuck, and since the same set of 'fans' who supported the dead club now support Sevco, they too, are 'huns'.

ALL SEVCONIANS ARE PROTESTANT UNIONISTS, BUT NOT ALL PROTESTANT UNIONISTS ARE HUNS.
