  1. My tuppence worth is that the SNP know that the next couple of elections are going to be painful, there is ongoing police investigations and that Swinney is there as a patsy to see that through. He could end up in court giving evidence right enough.

More i think of it, probably wise of Forbes to steer clear until this self inflicted shit show is over.

  2. Bang on the money.

"Not only are Forbes’s Christian views on pre-marital sex, abortion, and marriage perfectly mainstream, she has also repeatedly said that while she must follow her conscience, she defends the rights of others to do the same. This is more than can be said for the zealots of the secular religion of social progressivism. Forbes’s critics wrongly assume that, given the opportunity, she would be as intolerant as they are."

The "injury crisis" has been slightly exaggerated.

The only players who are confirmed absentees are: Brown, Patterson, Ferguson and probably Jack*.

    None are first picks.

Gilmour is back, as is Hanley. McTominay will be back soon.

*Hopefully Stuart Armstrong gets added to the list. Apart from his ability to assist Harry Kane, and his constant dropping his head and dribbled the ball out of play, he offers nothing.

Apart from a quiff and a law degree.

None first picks but if Hickey doesn't make it (and its a big IF for him to make it) then Patterson is right back. Without either of them we are in the shit.

Ferguson wouldn't have started but he'd likely have featured and if we have another injury to a central midfielder we are suddenly short. Long way before the Euros but having 3 guaranteed players from a 23 man squad guaranteed to be out and a few other starters being doubts, then it's a tricky position to be in.

Tbf everyone’s idea of an equal society is different. I imagine there are issues that every one of us would draw a line at or regard as a step too far , either due to their beliefs or , in respect of practical financial help, the cost of  creating an equal balance. We all have a different interpretation of what an equal society actually is.

I have never heard her say anything that would give me a concern  , and I have no religion and pretty much dont believe in it at all. I also have a gay sister who voted for Kate Forbes last time so she is not offending everyone who may be affected by gay marriage. I think most level headed people realise she is one person in an entire government and her influence is restricted.

Canny believe I am agreeing with Malcolm 🤦‍♀️

There's also literally gay people in the SNP who are endorsing Forbes.

well, no, of course he wasn’t.  Depends on whether you think the use of the term “poof” as a slur is not homophobic unless directed at someone who is actually gay.  I would say it probably was.

It defo is homophobic, thankfully in the past.

Just need to get rid of songs about Harry Kane being disabled now though whilst theirs fans with the same disability in the same stadium.

As I said on the other thread, it's not so much that she's Christian; the objection some people have is that she apparently said she would not have voted for gay marriage, therefore is seen as not supporting a fair society for all, so is at best divisive, at worst homophobic.

Would Humza? He had a habit of avoiding votes that were conflicted with Islam.

We dont need a winger who clearly has lost at least a yard of pace and who can only play 20 mins a game as our special weapon.

We need somebody who knows how to score when given chances we created against the likes of Holland though and a winger with well over 100 career goals and still scoring now isn't something we have in abundance. He's scored some huge goals for Celtic. He's a decent sub when chasing a game IMO.

I dont think Doak has earned a call up and wouldnt be near the squad if it was 23 or if we didnt have some injuries but he will be a big player going forward and the experience will do him good. Its unlikely any of the 24 to 26 players will get much if any gametime.

Absolutely agree, especially in a 26 man squad.

People really need to give it a rest with Gauld and Morgan though.  The MLS is not a great league, it's well marketed and is a retirement home for 35+ year old superstars, so people who've never watched a game are tricked into thinking it's a good level.  How many players have come to Scotland from an MLS team in the last few years that have either went back or disappeared off to a lower level?

Morgan and Gauld aren't good enough for the level of international football Scotland want to compete at but are above the average level required for the MLS which is why they're flourishing over there.

Well said, they are getting better and better in folks minds with every passing squad.

Morgan couldn't cut it at Celtic where Forrest has won has won more trophies than just about anyone in their history and Gauld is 28 and never had a sniff of a cap under numerous managers.

I said it in another post, but we really do get the country we deserve.

In any normal country, after a near-disastrous head of government was preparing to leave office, there would be a clamour to install the best person for the job. However, some of Scotland's prominent churnalists - Farquharson, Hassan, Hutcheon - have declared Forbes unsuitable to be FM for no other reason than her religious faith. I'd really hoped we'd moved past that, but, of course, for most of our press it isn't in the interests of those paying their wages for Scotland to have an effective government, especially one led by the SNP.

As previously said, you'd never have jews, muslims or hindu's spoken about like that (rightly so) but if somebody is Christian all of a sudden their faith is an issue to govern?

I'm not religious in the slightest BTW.

A quick scroll through social media it looks as though Kate won’t get the gig because of her Christian beliefs as some look likely to rebel while others have threatened to leave the party if she becomes FM. Many of whom endorsed useless

Maybe they should ask Humzas mates down at the mosque what they think about those same religious reasons that are being used to beat Kate Forbes potential campaign with

What a horrible backward country we live in. Bigotry and prejudice is still alive and kicking

    It's mental.

He scored 8 in 38 games as an 18 year old in Scotland. He scored 12 last season and 8 the season before so your mortgage wouldn’t be very safe.

Regardless, he’s an attacking midfielder who shouldn’t be judged by the number of goals that he scores.

Ok then, he wouldn't have the number of assists over here that he gets in America.

He's 29 this year. No Scotland manager has ever capped him. It's not solely Steve Clarke that hasn't called him up . He might get in the squad now due to injuries/bigger squad but i'd rather go with Forrest personally as he's got experience at this level, both for club and country and is hitting form. Gauld has neither experience at ether club or country at this level.

Good luck to him if he gets called up, as with any player.

IF we are going to take a punt on a completely leftfield player, i'd rather take a chance on a younger player like Connor Barron. Doak wouldn't have been nailed on in a 26 man squad.

For me, the Germany and Switzerland matches show where you click on the stadium map.

Cologne identifies my block in green, but I don't have a green block for Munich......... ?!?!

You just need to search for the dot. Took me a while!!

Why is that bit so important to you? I can't get my head around why such a minor issue has gained so much importance.

I'm not sure it's minor issue, the fact that we have somehow managed to get a coalition that were intent on giving puberty blockers out like sweets was a major issue for many ( i know it was for me). As per, they've since had to backtrack. Through in legislation with severe lack of any meaningful research so they can be "progressive".

No surprise that the highest % of kids transitioning or wanting to transition were from deprived areas. These kids up until recently had access to puberty blockers

How the Scottish government managed to get so entrenched in this with the Greens wagging their tail is scary and tells me the SG were more intent on being in power back then than running an effective government.

If a man decides he wants to be a woman then he can batter in but the SG's obsession with children being allowed to make that decision so early in their lives was inexcusable.
