  1. if they can't control the away crowd then they should cut the numbers of away fans attending to a figure that they can control.

The fact that the celtic fans can commit crimes in the stand and get away with it because the police are scared to deal with it is shocking.

I think now that there has been some action taken by Hearts against their own fans should go some way to stamping this out in the home end especially as we are on our way to being fan run i think there will be more people prepared to self police or tell tales

If the police feel they can't control the number of away fans in that section of the ground then the allocation should have been cut before now, going on the reports from the last few games at Tynecastle.

Not that I am an expert on policing of football matches but I thought police did an assessment of games and had to give their agreement for games to actually go ahead? If so then they have obviously not done their job correctly in estimating the amount of officers required to control the away end at these games.

I am not trying to shift any blame here. There can be no justification for smashing up seats, toilets, graffiti etc and if anyone is doing so they need dealt with, through the courts. If the police feel they can't actually catch the people doing this with their current resources, they need to put more officers in there. Everyone knew Hearts Celtic would be a dodgy game based on previous games, apart from, it seems, the police.

Celtic are in a difficult position. They should be condemning the bad behaviour. But they are pretty much powerless to act on it en masse and the only people they can act on in this instance are the 5 who have been arrested. They could refuse tickets for the next game at Tynecastle, but that punishes all fans, not just the nuggets.

If the police had greater numbers in, allowing them to control the Roseburn properly, arrested all those that they saw breaking the law, gave Celtic the details to allow them to start banning them from Parkhead and hopefully they ended up with banning orders from all grounds then the next time Celtic are there the nuggets wouldn't be as quick to act up if they were aware that 50/60/70 people received banning orders for being @rseholes the last time.

The longer they are allowed to get away with this with no real risk of punishment, the worse it will get.

  2. I agree with this. I think a large part of it will be that he feels a sense of duty or responsibility towards the fans and probably the squad. While he might not think he's the best man for the job I think there will be a part of him possibly thinking of who it might be if he does go and the ramifications of that for the club. Better the Devil you know and all that.

I would have also added that he may have felt that he had a responsibility to at least keeping a fans eye on the goings on within Rangers but I think its now obvious that he is powerless to influence any of that. Smith realised that pretty soon and baled rather than stick around and become increasingly fecked off at what was happening. McCoist may be keeping an eye on it but he doesn't have the influence to change any of it.

  3. yeah rangers only had 40% of the stand

    not if its policed properly

I wouldn't hold out much hope for that happening given whats happened in the last few fixtures at Tynecastle. If the police can arrest people smashing up seats or toilets then they are going to struggle to control anything else IMO. I suppose it could cut down on the number of Celtic nuggets attending but no guarantee it would do the same for Hearts.

  4. Hearts v Rangers 17,004 - capacity 17,200

Get the allocation cut, got to look after your own fans and i think if action is not taken Hearts will lose a lot more fans than the ones who currently stay away from old firm games.

The only club who deserves the whole of the Roseburn is Hibs

Did that mean Hearts had some of the Roseburn and so did Rangers?

Surely taking that course of action for a future Hearts v Celtic game would just increase the potential for problems as it would give the chance for both sets of wingnuts to get closer to each other in the stadium?

  5. I'm now going and was planning to park on London Road (east of the ground), is that possible and easy enough?

Friday night we were stuck on London Road from about 10 to 10.45, a very slow crawl back to the motorway turn off. However that was in a bus which didn't leave the Emirates bus park until 10pm. If you are in a car you could probably be away quicker.

  6. Where they have screwed up is by them not giving them bigger allocation in first place... im on 3 points and have pretty much given up hope of ticket for Dublin

They gave them what was the required allocation in the first place. I don't know what the FAI did at that point, if they protested, tried to negotiate for more etc but it wasn't until tickets were already on sale to general public that the FAI did actually came back and asked for more tickets. At that point they couldn't be given an increased allocation as tickets for the section next to their end had already been sold.

The FAI also didn't help by not allocating tickets to Irish fans until a few weeks ago, again after the public sale was already started, meaning Irish fans in doubt would always take the insurance of a home end ticket. And proved to be a correct decision for them giving how I believe the Irish FA actually allocated their tickets.

I can't understand why, at the start of ticket negotiations, when the SFA said "We will give you 5%/3,000 tickets" then the FAI didn't either ask for more or request that a further section be kept for them pending sale of the initial allocation.

It doesn't take a comet landing rocket scientist to figure out that Ireland would always bring more than 3,000 fans to a competitive game in Scotland.

  7. Biggest game in years yet you a " Scotland " fan don't want to go. You are strange.

I'm not going either, and I know of many others.

As a point of principle I decided not to go to any of the home qualifiers. I appreciate it's a futile 'protest' but at present I really grudge giving the SFA a bean.

I will boycott the gibraltar game where I don't think the team will need any support to win. This on the other hand is a massive game where they will need all the support they can get. If you don't buy a ticket an irish fan will, so boycotting this game is pointless as it will sell out anyway. If we have a mass boycott of the Gibraltar game then it may hit home how ridiculous the prices are.

I only relented late on for Georgia because it was a Saturday home game. I am only going to this game because I have friends who are making the journey from Italy to attend, including one who will be going to his first ever Scotland game, so I will be going with them. After that I won't be at any other home games this campaign, competitive or friendly.

  8. Booze ban? It's the most pished I've ever seen the TA. I even had a beer wi the Caribinieri - ban my arse.

Probably the drunkest I've been at a game of football.

Definitely the most pished TA I have ever seen. I think we bought 3 bottles of vodka going thru Stansted for match day in case the ban was enforced.

  9. Correct. We rub our hands when foreign FAs fook up and put unrestricted public sales. And here's the SFA doing the same. Should have left it open to SSC members to buy as many as required. Or to a Scottish address only. They would have all gone to Scotland fans.

    J

    No they wouldn't.

A mate of mine bought 6 extra tickets via SSC season ticket offer. All for Irish friends. With the agreement they will do likewise for us when we go across to Ireland.

  10. Not quite true - Albanians given 970 tickets a month or so ago.

One week later the Serbians say they want the names of recipients of the tickets,

    Albanians said not a chance.

Serbians closed the border as a result.

And the rest as they say................

The Serbs were only willing to allow Albanians in who actually had an Albanian address. The idea was to block the hardliners from Kosovo attending the game. I would say that they were the ones most likely to "kick off" but that's probably only by a very small margin!

  11. Really? First I heard of that. They stopped it when there was 30,000+ members and couldn't offer extra ticket/s to each member anymore. Never seen the problem of doing ballots for second tickets even if a lot would miss out it would ensure all tickets going to home fans.

SSC membership must have dropped significantly if they are now offering two extra tickets per member!

My mate bought an extra 6 tickets last week or week afore using 3 of our crowds SSC memberships. The 3 he used all have season tickets so possibly only open to season ticket holders?

  12. They got an initial allocation of 3,000 tickets but that was subject to change. (the only change being the allocation would be increased)

I'd prefer it if they weren't dotted all over the stadium.

Considering there is a 90 minute wait to login into the SSC website at the moment, I would think they will be more then "dotted" all over the stadium. I don't think that wait is being caused by Scotland fans demand for tickets on the back of a draw in Poland.
