  1. I don't know if there are any chess players on here but sadly Viktor Kortchnoi has died. He was a Soviet defector whose 1978 World Championship match with USSR golden boy Anatoly Karpov were pure Cold War theatre with accusations of spying, bugged chairs giving off brain-interfering waves & parapsychologists with dark glasses being barred from the playing hall. More even than Fischer-Spassky, those two got me into the game. His story & his battles with the Soviet hierarchy both before & after his defection are great reads. http://en.chessbase.com/post/viktor-korchnoi-dies-at-85 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Chess_Championship_1978
