There's a chance we have all got a bit over excited about Patterson.

Very good player going forward. Less so defensively. Good option against lesser teams as his pace and attacking ability can open teams up. Against better opposition we need Hickey all day long.

  2. McBurnie shouldnt be back near the Scotland squad unless he hits a purple patch for his club and earns it.

He had ample opportunities to prove himself for Scotland regardless of the quality of our team or opposition.

His lack of goals for us doesnt concern me greatly. But his attitude, workrate and body language when selected does.

Dykes and Adams have earned their place in the squad.

Shankland is the one with a strong claim for the 3rd spot right now.

Nisbet and Brown still have opportunity to impress. McBurnie should be looking to get ahead of those 2 before Clarke will be considering him.

  3. For me Shankland is an impact player to bring on with 30 minutes to go when you need a goal.

There arent many teams going to the Euros who we would have the luxury of playing 2 up top against so we need players that can lead the line.

Dykes and Adams have both shown they can do that.

Shankland should however 100% be in the squad. He is different to the other 2 and haveing a balance of different types of olayer in our squad is what we need.

That said, I wouldnt be averse to seeing starting tomorrow night to see if he has what it tales to lead the line by himself.

Better to find out now than go into the Euros not knowing. Although we do have the friendlies in March, so could give him the last 30 tomorrow and start him then.

wouldn't be surprised to see a navy / purple / red effort in this style.    Would look smart.    navy tops to the socks, white shorts.

    Could do way worse.

That could end up looking really smart. Dark blue, white stripes and purple trim. As long as they dont try and over complicate the tartan effect by introducing other colours.

  5. I wouldnt be trying out any players in these games until the points are secured when our seeding at the finals depends on it.

We are already without some important players. Look what happened in Lille with a makeshift side.

Get the strongest team on the field and give others minutes if we get the job done.

Clarke has to start in goals as Kellys form has been poor this season and McCrorie hasnt played any football.

After that its the usual suspects....

                            Clark

    Patterson Hendry Porteous Taylor

                   Gilmour  Calmac

        Christie  McGinn McTominay

                            Dykes

Neymar, Mahrez and Mane are all the wrong side of thirty and are all on a downward trajectory. They also have local players playing next to them who, no offence to Saudis intended, aren't exactly top quality. The rest of the players are there for the payday. How important do you think winning the Saudi league is to any of these players, really? There is no history behind the league, the crowds are small and it appears to be just like some other leagues that have come with big promises that haven't been fulfilled.

Hendry looked way off it the last time as did Henderson the last time he played for England.

Not the point I responded to.

You said it was a joke league.

    It isnt.

You may not rate Hendry, and thats fine. I also dont approve of the Saudi League and what they are trying to do.

But he is playing against top quality strikers.

Largely, but not exclusively, players at the end of their careers looking for a pay day. Jack Hendry is also looking for a pay day which I don't blame him for.

I think you need to look again.

Ronaldo and Benzema may be coming to the end of their careers but they were the best in the world.

I dont think you can call Neymar, Mahrez, Malcolm, St Maximam and Mane past it!

The Saudi League may be many things, but its not a joke league and Jack Hendry will be playing against far better forwards there than he was in Belgium.

  8. Big decisions for Steve Clarke with the absence of Tierney.

Not really sure what I would do. Probably slotting McKenna in there causes the least damage.

He hasnt played much but he is young enough and has a bit of height/pace about him.

Alternatively to we go flat 4 and give Spain a different problem to solve from the Hampden game.

4-5-1 with Ferguson the extra man in midfield wouldnt be the craziest decision.

Certainly the flat 4 worked against Ukraine who had our number playing the 3/5 at the back.

That looks pretty favourable from our end with plenty of the sections around our official tickets sold out.

Should be a pretty healthy/noisy away support. If they dont sell out their allocation and with a big running track around the pitch, we should be able to give plenty encouragement to the team.

Also our official tickets are up high, so should have a decent view of the far away goal for a change!

  10. Great second half performance.

    Kirsty Hanson was immense.

This is the best womens team Ive seen.

As usual no tickets left for people on low points , half the big pointers won't even be going but just buying tickets to get the points, absolute garbage run by the sfa as usual.

When is 1st started going away you had to put flight details and accommodation in to prove you was actually going but 30 plus away games I can't get a ticket ,I had to get a home end ticket in Cyprus this is becoming a joke, there will be people with more points than me and have never been to an away game and because Hampden is a shit stadium I won't go but wouldn't buy a ticket for the sake of it and doing someone out of it.

    Rant over

If you dont go to Hampden, your obviously not a Scotland fan and just like a wee away day in the sun with yer pals. Explain to me again why you should get a ticket for Seville instead of me?

Yeah, true. The tickets for their game against Cyprus went on sale about three and a half weeks beforehand, so that would be today or tomorrow. I guess they´ve a lot on their plate with the self imposed mess they're in!

Thanks Judith. You´re probably right though the Spanish sometimes like to be difficult for the sake of it. if I were your daughter, I´d get them in her boyfriend/friend´s name.
