That reminds me of the time I went to a game at Rugby Park in the mid 70s. It was between Kilmarnock and the Scotland U21 team - might actually have been U23s then thinking about it.
It must have been an international break - possibly home Internationals - as I think the Scotland team were training at Seamill. I'm pretty sure they did some sort of training session on the pitch beforehand. I was in the old kids enclosure in front of the main stand and I remember climbing up into the stand to get autographs.
Tommy Burns was playing for the U21/U23 and I ran on the pitch after the game and got his autograph, I remember him being very pleasant.
Always had a lot of time for Tommy Burns one of the genuinely good guys in football.
Was at that game too.
Still have the autographs.

Kilmarnock were in the bottom tier of Scottish football not that ago and were absolutely rank throughout the entire 80's. Or did the bank write off these seasons from the records too in a 'good deal' for KFC historians?
True. But we were only part time.

You lot couldn't even relegate them when you had the chance.

League has always been easier on the eye.Thank fook the rugby league season has started again - great to watch - funny how both games have gone in opposite directions in later years - rugby league in the Eddie Waring days was ball up the jumper and drive in , rugby union had the likes of Campese with his trickery - now its the opposite - rugby union dull as ditchwater -rugby league at superleague level - virtually game exciting and excellent to watch.

The ones they used to put in a velvet w*nk bag?numptys why no dae wit the English fa dae and use numbered balls simple

Spot on. Wooden spoon again. It was pretty awful yesterday.
The same error-ridden, painfully slow guff that we've seen from Scotland in almost every game for the last 15 years.
Why is it that players that are sharp and quick of thought and foot for Glasgow, turn into nervous wee boys when they pull on a Scotland shirt ?
England weren't all that great....I'll be surprised if they win another game other than Italy....yet they were streets ahead of us.
I fear what could happen (again) next week and against Ireland.

His signing policy, the style of play, fitness levels...
He managed the way I would expect if someone got drafted in to take a team for a testimonial. 11 players, including some old pals, 4-4-2, go out and play, see what happens.
Gary Locke in fact. ...

Agree100%The supporters club is a rip off and makes the SFA a fortune.....regardless of their spiel they spout......I re-joined cos I travel most/all away games but I accepted I was being ripped off years ago.....each to their own and if ur not going away probably not worth it....rant over ??

Ha remember it well.Yeah I can mind going to see Big Country & you could hardly get to the dance floor from the stairs.
They did an afternoon and evening Hogmanay gig in 83.Runrig supported them along with a group called Second Thoughts who were two English lads with acoustic guitars.
Needless to say they cut their set short...
That was 3rd time I had seen Big Country thst year. Saw them at Ayr Pavilion and The Locarno on Sauchiehall Street earlier.
Off to see them on Wednesday night in PJMolloys in Dunfermline looking forward to it☺

Good on you Sir Elton.
Its not just music events though.
The SRU should hang their heads in shame over their collaboration with viagogo.

The only home nation I want to do well is Northern Ireland
I particularly want Wales to get horsed in every match they play.
Agree 100 % ?

Madden, Finnie, Collum, Beaton and McClean are some of the most incompetent referees I have ever seen and I have been watching football for over 40 years now.
That Madden decision last night is absolutely appalling.
Finnie was atrocious at Rugby Park on Tuesday night.
As for Beaton. Killie v Motherwell last October Killie commit 6 fouls have 4 players booked.
Motherwell commit 18 and have 2 booked.
