  1. Think the problem with Gilmour when he starts is that he doesn’t offer much going forwards he isn’t quick, nor offer enough defensively .

So you are kind of stuck after that , he will offer a sideways pass but that isn’t enough at this level .

I do feel his size prevents him doing him doing more of the above , therefore he would be best suited to a slow paced league like Serie A .

  2. I would still fear tierney rarely playing could become a problem for us.

Whilst he was okay tonight you can see that some of the play didn’t move as quickly normal with him it was slightly slower , not sure if was lack of game time tonight .

Pace moving a bit faster as arsenal bring on their bigger guns

I thought some of it was because of Martinelli. He's been a key player for Arsenal and I think Arteta thinks Zinchenko complements him a bit better on their left.

I think that’s fair zinchenko does compliment him well , not so sure what that leaves tierney going forwards .

the euro qualifiers are creeping closer and it’s becoming a bigger concern how many of our players are not in favour at club level or in very poor form (Robertson and McGinn)

Also the goalkeeper situation where we are looking at an English championship reserve is of huge concern

Noticed McBurnie got 10 minutes at the end of of the Sheffield United game on Friday. Only touched the ball 9 times, got a yellow card but still the United faithful managed to create a two page topic praising him.

I reckon if he's fit there is a pretty good chance he will be called up in March.

He is having a decent season for Sheffield United who look like they will be promoted again.

But we have seen many times he is just not an international footballer

  5. Still think we are stuck between a rock and a hard place , so many of our regular starters don’t get much club football action or not really in clubs long term plans .

The good thing for Doak is that Liverpool are very much having a transitional season, maybe he will get more action than i expect

  6. We do this all the time , yes the lad looks promising . but running on for 10 minutes in a cup tie every few weeks , does not make you ready for competitive international football.

Not a great deal to talk about from the games today apart from Doak still getting game time for Liverpool from the bench that is great to see.

Gimour needs another move as he is again stuck in a team he can't get in the team. Some great players in front of him, but when you are 3 nil up you would think it would be an ideal time to rest your superstar players and give Gilmour a chance. I would like him to go abroad and try and get more games rather than another move in the epl or spl.

If you could the championship as abroad that’s as far as his next move takes him

He really needs to GTF out of there.  Second disastrous season in a row.

He does but in his mind he thinks he is going to be going to a Spanish team , reality is that it will be the championship as that is his level.

Multiple team managers now don’t fancy him is no coincidence

I agree. 2nd half he was tremendous (Gilmour and Mitomo the best players on the park for me in the 2nd half). What I found interesting is that he wasn't doing anything particularly different to what he did during his 'failure' season with Norwich. The difference being that when he calls for the ball, whether or not he's covered by 2 opponents or not, his Brighton team mates give him it. And invariably he does something good with the ball when he gets it.

It's unfortunate that he plays the same position as Moises Caicedo (who returns from suspension next game). But Gilmour couldn't have done much more I think to impress De Zerbi. (Fingers crossed the manager likes what he saw and starts Billy Gilmour next game).

I know as Scotland fans we work with a very low bar .

i appreciate that he hasn’t played much , but looks a country mile short of the standard required at this level.

although it was not the easiest game to try and make an impression

Nobody interested in Coronavirus since October

That is going to change really soon with what is happening in China

There is no chance after 3 years of there ever been any lockdowns again, the mess this country is in, individually and collectively , it would bankrupt the UK.

We are paying the price almost three years later , brexit and Ukraine are factors as well of course .

Hooked after 62mins in the diddy cup yet hes considered too good too come back up to scotland and play for a team who reached the europa league final.

He would be happy to move to europe in January apparently , think a trip back to the championship is more realistic

Gilmour starting in efl cup tonight. Should get a mini run of games while mac allister has a rest after the World Cup. Will need to play well or hope somebody buys their other midfielders in the transfer window!

Or hope someone offers him a move somwhere , anywhere in January where he may get some games .

  13. I think we have better players as whole , but they have more belief in themselves than us.

It has generally carried them further than it should have , than us in the last 6 years or so.

Still would not be over confident in us beating them as our record against them is pretty dreadful .
