  1. I presume we would have to have a pre application process for away tickets for either Wales or Austria, if we qualify.

    This must be due soon. Have we heard any rumours about allocations or sales timetables?

    As far as I know, the SFA have not said anything officially.

  2. This the guidance on the Faroe Islands website

    "...It is recommended that travellers to the Faroe Islands test two days prior to departure to the Faroe Islands and two days after arrival to the Faroe Islands. PCR-tests are preferred if possible. Testing in the Faroe Islands is free of charge at the hospital test centre. People are strongly encouraged to be extra careful until the result from their second day test is available...."

    As a PCR test is not required to enter Denmark, and they are only using the word 'recommended' , I figure we will not need one beforehand.

    I have booked the free PCR test for Day 2 in Torshavn.

    We would not have been sold tickets by the Faroes FA, if we needed a worthy purpose to visit...

  3. Moldova looks easier to get into than most countries...

    The Ministry of Health has established a new set of rules for entering Moldova. The red and green list of countries is no longer applicable.

    On entering Moldova, all arrivals must complete an epidemiological form that declares information about your state of health (relevant to the COVID pandemic) and confirm that you will self-isolate for 14 days unless you are exempt.

    You will be exempt from self-isolation if you present one of the following documents:

    • proof that you have received both doses of an approved vaccination. The second dose must have been administered at least 14 days before your date of arrival. Current rules do not specify whether electronic documents are acceptable as proof, but you are recommended to present your vaccination certificate in paper form
    • negative result of a PCR test taken no more than 72 hours before your date of arrival;
    • negative result of a rapid antigen test taken no more than 48 hours before your date of arrival;
    • a confirmation of the presence of COVID-19 antibodies (serological test) that is valid for a period of 90 days from the date of the test
  4. I would be happy with most of the teams selected so far, not really many weak links in the squad.

    However, formation wise, I hope he goes with two 6's and a 10.

    The formation of one 6 and two 8's either side like McTominay and McGinn either side of McGregor didn't work

    McTom and McGinn were in unnatural positions, and it also seem to stifle Tierney bombing forward, as he had a midfielder in his space. This could also limit Hendry driving forward rom RCB as well....

    McTom and Gilmour as two holding creative midfielders, McGinn ahead of them in the 10 position and Dykes and Adams up front, would be my preferred formation. However, Christie, Armstrong and Fraser could also fit into the various positions....

    This would allow the Wing Backs and outside Centre Backs to attack when required as well

  5. There was a Leeds v Tottenham game in the early 1970's, when all 5 captains of the UK international teams played, before captaining their countries the following midweek - great trivia question.

    Scotland              Bremner

    England               Mullery

    Wales                   England (Mike)

    N Ireland             Jennings

    Eire                       Giles

  6. Would Nathan Patterson be an option at RCB?

    Tierney looks great at LCB and can overlap and drive forward, but I do not see an option for that at RCB. Hendry, Gallagher and Hanley do not look comfortable bringing the ball out that far, and makes us slightly lopsided.

    Obviously McTominay was originally in Clarke's mind for this role, but has had to move into CM.

    I've not seen enough of Patterson, but could this be a solution?

  7. McBurnie's problem is that he plays for two teams that don't have wide players. Both play a version of 3-5-2

    He needs crosses into the box that he can attack. He is not suited to intricate build up play through the midfield

    Even when Scotland have played with two wide players - e.g. Cyprus away - they both cut back inside onto their stronger foot.

  8. According to a guy I know who deals with UEFA, it definitely won't be Russia. Their WC deal was with FIFA and UEFA don't have strong links with Russia.

    If it has to be one country, Germany would be favourite. England would not host it all without fans, as would be too expensive.
