He has totally lost the dressing room.

If he had any “dignity” he’d have walked.

If he survives this week I’m done. The chances of two wins are as remote as my winning The Open.

There’s no way he’d get binned even if we lose both games.

He’ll get the chance to make an arse of the qualifiers as well then get binned when it’s beyond repair.

    Our new number 9

I think he’ll start with Fletcher on Saturday, all going well result wise Patterson will come on for last 15/20 with a view to starting against Israel.

Patterson then starts against Israel, tucks a couple of goals and goes onto score 31 goals for his country as a centre forward.

    Am I getting carried away?

He's been one of the biggest let downs in the recent history of the national team.

Thirty one caps and nine goals does look respectable. Yet six of them were against Gibraltar and another one was against a poor Iceland team.

"watched by Real Madrid" my arse.

We'd be better off with Callum Paterson up front alongside Johnny Russell than Steven Fletcher.

His goal scoring record was poor but I got really annoyed with his lack of physical presence, for a big lad he was far too easily outmuscled. I’d go with Rhodes for the next 2 games.

  4. I think he was the only player in the squad for the Czech/Denmark friendlies a few years back who didn’t get a run which was odd, then I saw him play a few times and realised why.

From what I’ve seen he’s average at best but has nowhere near the composure required for international football and would be behind Hanley, Lindsay and Murray Wallace in the pecking order.

Add that to rumours that he’s not interested in playing for us and it’s unlikely he’ll ever be selected.

In all honesty it's not that far fetched. Tierney isn't playing to the same levels he was two years ago and certainly isn't playing to his highest level on the left of a back 3.

There are a few players who would be better in that position than Tierney but Liam Cooper isn’t one of them.

Terrible news, he was starting to look very good. I think Hanley will be back (he was injured for the last round of matches). Norwich think very highly of him and to be fair he’s now reaching a good age for a centre half.

We could actually do worse than bring Hanley back. He’s a better player than Liam Cooper.

These are not produced by Umbro, so unless they pay a fee to put their logo on it, they can only produce the shirt without the kit makers logo.

hopefully some tracksuit tops follow soon (only one I would like from the 90’s was the blue and white hooped one from Italia 90) and fingers crossed for the Italia 90 away kit to make an appearance soon.

I’ve seen the 90 trackie top a few times on eBay recently. I’d love the silver 86 one.

I thought he was our worst midfielder in the last set of games.

I thought he broke up play well and played the simple pass but lacks the mobility and dynamism of our other younger midfielders. It’s a role Ryan Jack could also fill but he seems to like an injury a bit too much.

Given that he's now been dropped by Fulham, I'd question if be is good enough for the EPL.

Regardless of this, he has not been good enough in his Scotland appearances so far. His movement of the ball is too slow which takes away from our style based on quick transitions from defence to attack. He hasn't been effective defensively at tracking central midfield runners.

I'm not against a sitting midfielder. In the current system it could be highly effective. However McDonald doesn't look capable of playing the high intensity style of play that we've looked to play since the start of Gordon Strachan's time in charge.

I think McDonald has looked ok in his last couple of games for us but he’s not a long term answer. McTominay would be the obvious option in his place but he needs games at club level.

Any idea when?  I'm tempted by the Argentina 78 top from Toffs but might hold off if Score Draw are doing a new range!

Don’t know mate, I messaged Score Draw to ask when and they replied very soon.

What the fuck is all this? He’s never even mentioned England.

I didn’t claim he had, I simply stated there was panic over McTominay and it worked out fine as he was only ever going to choose us.

By the same token if Hornby is committed to us there’s no need to rush him into a competitive cap to claim him while he’s clearly not ready.

He either wants to play for Scotland or he doesn’t.

We shouldn’t need to resort to giving him an unearned cap to trap him in case he turns out to be very good.

Exactly, look at McTominay, for all the concern about his allegiance he only ever wanted to play for us. I’d rather have someone who was committed.
