The only one seems to be Steven Presssley. I've been saying that for the last few weeks. You never see Strachan at games, you always see shots of Southgate, Martin O'Neill and Coleman sitting in the crowd.

After Slovakia, it was David Pleat who said the same thing about Strachan. He never see's him at games, he's always on the telly.

Clearly one of the many issued there.

Funnily enough Souness was knocked back for the job last time round as he wasn't willing to move back to Scotland.

If turning round our fortunes wasn't a full time job before it most certainly is now.

Although McAllister is a technically astute footballer and former top player for us, I would worry he would be cut from the same cloth as Strachan and a little out of touch.

Probably rather see a younger coach who would be more likely to try new players, systems and want to play as many matches as possible/be involved as much in a full time role would be much better for Scotland I feel.

There's always that risk I guess, he's someone I've always had respect for.

I'd love to see Cathro involved to some degree, comes across very well any time I've heard him interviewed and is very highly respected as a coach. The kind of guy who'd want to rejig the whole setup if given the opportunity.

Depends if we still have Regan in place though as something tells me he'll favour an easy option.

Get Ian Cathro and Gary McAllister in pronto and lay foundations for years to come

Funnily enough that's the two names I've been thinking about since Friday night.

  4. Since Friday night I, like most if not all of us have been thinking about potential replacements for Strachan should he walk/be sacked.

Which led me to think part of the reason for his failure could be down to his lack of a settled backroom staff.

On taking the job he brought in McGhee and McCall who if I recall correctly were both out of work so at the time I was ok with that.

However, McGhee got the Well job and would he really be totally focussed after that in his responsibilities with us?

The less said about the involvement of Andy Watson the better, Pressley also had some involvement but in my opinion the lack of a settled backroom staff did us no favours.

It suggests to me that it's an aspect that Strachan didn't take seriously and devalues the whole setup a bit.

I know there are managers out there that class an international job as a part time gig but surely due to the mess we find ourselves in it demands more than that?

Charlie fair gets lashd in aboot Strachan and his bizarre selection policies, based on favourites and general fecking fruitloopiness.

Adam should get fit, get a move to someone that'll play him every week in the January window and I've no doubt he'll get back in our squad.

In the meantime he's just getting boring now and looks like someone who's winding his career down to become the next Michael Stewart style pundit.

  6. I thought he was starting to really struggle last campaign, had we a decent replacement for him he'd have been binned a few years back.

Probably played for more for Scotland than Villa over the last few years.?

  7. I'd make a case for Dorrans being in the squad on current form, playing well and has tucked a couple of goals.

Adam did look decent tonight but would need a run of games to get a sniff, which to be fair as much as it doesn't suit the current agenda against Strachan, he has picked Adam on the rare occasion he's been a regular for Stoke.

Sorry I dont have games off the top of my head but he has been a great player for us in my opinion and was outstanding at Utd at his best

Still has a lot to offer, he's still playing well at a good level.

until we strart training our youngsters to be ball playersrather than cloggers

encouraging our clubs to actually play players from their own country

realising you have to be properly fit to play sport, like Andy Murray fit

and sadly learn to I've, ask for yellow cards, hold at corners and all the other cheating the rest of the world take for granted

    nothing will change

and I see no appetite to change any of it

Aye the fitness thing is the one for me, just because of the beer/fags/kebab stereotype of our nation, doesn't mean it's ok for our footballers to follow suit.

  10. I'm swithering with this one, I wasn't gutted when he retired as I like most others though he was past it.

I'd certainly start him on current form, probably alongside Fletcher as we've definitely missed some dig in midfield.

If as reported by Rodgers however, it's only for one game he can GTF.

  11. Just been speaking to a couple of guys at Oslo airport who missed out on buses etc.

The organiser(I think we all know who)had allegedly been on the sauce since 8am and made no effort to help out, jumped on his bus and left.

Really is beyond a joke, folk missed the game because of him and many are out of pocket.

You can see the team lines etc. here http://www.seagulls.co.uk/fixtures-results/under23s/

Last night Harper was an unused sub, in the previous game he got brought on for the last 15 minutes with the team 7-0 up in the cup. In the game last week against West Ham he got brought on in the 91st minute.

It looks like either the Brighton U23 manager is totally clueless, or Harper simply isn't good enough for the "Under-23 Premier League Division Two".

btw Brighton U23s have won 1 league game all season.

Doesn't look great for Harper if that's the case.

Might be worth him dropping down a division or 2 on loan to get some games.
