Let’s continue our seven games without a win run.
We might scrape out of the group stage and Clarke will become a national treasure but we could also go another seven games without a win.
Feel sorry for Clarke the way things are looking, but anyone who thinks he played Ferguson and Shankland enough or tried out all his positional options in our last seven games has their head in the sand.

I 100% agree with your comment here.

I thought the issue was very evident when Craig Gordon broke his leg and we had not been giving any of the other's meaningful opportunities, getting Gunn to commit got us out of jail but it highlighted there was a risk with Clarke's MO.  We had friendlies, and other matches where we were comfortable, take the opportunity to give others more game time than the odd 5 minutes here and there.  The recent friendlies were a golden opportunity to try different options in a few 'zero' risk matches.  We all got humbled regardless.

Of all the injuries this is the most important in terms of how the team is set up and who will be in the squad. Others are like for like replacements but KTs role is quite distinctive.

I agree, KT is one my my favorites and makes such a difference. I want to find the actual quote mentioned above

  3. I believe it's unlikely either will get called up but there still is time to have a look.  The MLS season only started in March and our last friendlies would have been great for us to look but not so great for their fitness and pre-season.  I would expect, with our current situation that Clarke is considering them and it's his decision what he does.  Both have a good reputation in the MLS, and though I believe nether really fits our system, I could be wrong however I think they offer something different off the bench. With a 26 man squad and with some gaps I think they deserve to be under consideration.

I imagine all our non-UK based players are watched via tapes rather than in person. Clarke wasn't exactly going over to Italy to watch Ferguson or Saudi Arabia to watch Hendry

Thats a fair comment but both of them are familiar him prior to those moves. Come meet them, develop a relationship. And if schedule permits go watch players like Gazdag fae Hungary.

Not sure flying to the other side of the world to watch two players who haven't been near a squad in years would be a good use of his time.

Two eligible players, in form, when we have gaps appearing because of injuries, with a major tournament this summer... I believe it absolutely is a good use of his time.

I think at this rate its a case of Clarke will have to pick whoever is available and playing at a decent level. Fraser ticks that box easily as does Morgan and gauld.

It's a real bummer losing some of our first picks but I will be excited to see how Morgan or gauld do if they get picked and I have always felt Fraser should be a first team pick anyways although he's fucked himself over the years by not turning up.

Morgan has a record of 25 goals in 53 for red bull, he should be in the squad already.

Just hope Clarke gives him a chance. These injuries are a great chance for Morgan, gauld and Fraser to come in a prove themselves. I even think the injuries could help shankland as we  could be forced to go with 2 up top and I would like to see Adams and shankland form a partnership.

    Morgan's goal yesterday.

Steve Clark should have been there. Morgan and Gauld both starting

When you say the XXXL cheapo doesn’t fit do you mean it’s too big or too small?

That’s always my concern buying stuff online

Too small. About 30% of DH Gate doesnt fit me, when I buy off the rack I buy XXL. If you dont need the biggest like me, order it anyway. I give them to my pal who wears an L and he is fine. Its a bit of a gamble.

  9. I now have an official and unofficially sourced Home jersey.  Here are the side my side comparisons.   My expensive one is XXL....and fits....my XXXL cheap doesn't fit me. That is immediately apparent, as is the shade of yellow on the collar and  the quality of the patch.  Yyou can see a few variations, they appear about the same weight, and the materials feel the same with the exception of the webbed portion at the lower back half because the official one is see through, but to the eye they look the same.  The other thing you will notice is the brightness of the patterned motif - you can see the unofficial one is not as bright, and the shape of the yellow piece under the arm pits is different.  Now I will say if I was wearing my unofficial one, the only thing that would give it away is the patch I firmly believe everything else would go unnoticed .

I still fully expect posts on here calling for Clarke's head for anything from not selecting MLS players Gauld and Morgan or likes of McBurnie and England brigade players. It will happen of that I am sure.

With a potential 26 man squad, and some key players out injured, we all expect the squad full of the best players available. Questions will be asked, and rightfully so when scrutinizing the big decisions. That, for me anyway wouldn't go as far as calling for his sack without thoughtful critique. I do expect Clarke to have a long think about his job post tournament, I hope we do well and its an easy decision to stay and for the majority of fans to want to keep him.

Hi there, by design, world football does! I don't make the rules, just asking that FIFA and the SFA follow them.

Like many things these days, actions were taken in singularity, but the broader implications were not considered. If we make a decision for nation X, we have set a precedent that we must do it for all others.

I'd have had Paterson, Armstrong & Ferguson in my 23 man squad. If all are to miss it i was thinking who'd i replace them with

I looked through soccerway of all scots playing abroad & quick scan of players in the SPL- drop off from our squad to the replacements is quite dramatic

Assuming Livramento, Barnes &Armstrong not interested

I'd have McCrorie, Fraser & Gauld in

Genuinely thinking who else you'd have in the 2 midfield roles and it doesnt look great

There's a thread on thus topic over on the euro24 board

  13. Gauld, Morgan, Turnbull, Doak (if playing) all y'all need to make a statement in the next month with your playing and social media that you can answer your nations call.

Have to admit my excitement for the euros has rapidly decreased in the last few weeks with the recent results and injuries starting to mount. There will be more injuries to come before the seasons out to key players I’d be willing to bet. I really thought Ferguson was going to make a big impact and I genuinely thought this was our moment to get out of the group when we qualified but I’d be surprised if we get anything more than 1 point the way things are which will be another disaster - we cannot afford not to get out of the group stages, I believe we possibly hold a record in that respect. Feels like things are hanging by a thread.

I completely agree. I was saving for a new bigger TV to enjoy with the tournament but since our recent results and now the injuries my optimism has gone right out the window. I dont want to suffer embarrassment and have buyers remorse.

Lets correct that unfortunate typo on BIGGER

  15. If I had to pick my squad today, with injuries/fitness and form as it is ...here is my squad.

    GK - Gunn, Gordon, Clarke

DF - Robbo, Tierney, Porteous, Hickey, McKenna, Henry, Hanley, Doig, McCrorie

MF - Gilmour, McGregor, McTominay, McGinn, Christie, Armstrong, Fraser, McLean

    FWD - Shankland, Adams, Dykes

If I can bring 26 - Gauld, Morgan, Conway

Not going to make it - Ferguson, Paterson I think both miss out.

I won't bring Taylor, who IMO hasn't let us down, but I am investing in Doig for the future.

For my Right backs - I considered Ashby, McCrorie, Ralston and Cadden but I went with form and as I expect to be able to bring 26 I chose McCrorie he has a working relationship with Conway. Ralston isn't getting much game time.

Fraser comes in with experience, hopefully a wiser head and for his form.

Hanley I am brining him, with the expectation his fitness improves in the next two months.

Gauld and Morgan have good form, and I am needing some different options from the beach as I think teams might have figured us out.

I suppose we could play 3-5-2 but it would mean dropping one of Gilmour, McGinn, McGregor and McTominay.

We may go that route if we end up depleted in midfield. IMO we have to field an 11 to the resources available, if we have all our best on the park, we run the danger of tiring. Losing Ferguson is a massive blow as we trust he can do a good job and could even of started a match.  I understand this contradicts being able to field our best 11, but we have to spend our chips to get the best out of the three matches and if a best 11 is all we have and then it's a massive drop off, changing formation allows to rest some players by playing two up front is something worth considering. McGregor hasn't been great this season, and hopefully he can get into his best shape.  I expect Armstrong to be a useful player who gets surprisingly more minutes that we expect this summer.

To add to the good news it looks like Tierney is no longer Real Sociedad’s first choice left back. Didn’t get off the bench at the weekend.

He’s less likely to be overplayed and injured I suppose. But he could do with a couple of starts over the next month.

He'll need to be fit to fill in at right wing back.

  18. I just checked on the score. I saw Paterson on at 45 and off at 90 and thought only two things, neither good..either he was terrible or he got injured. We may be playing Tierney at right back again

  19. Rumours are its a torn ACL for Ferguson. That could be 8 months before he is back playing which would end his 2024 and affect not only his EURO's but any potential summer transfers as well.
