  1. Took a while for the second email to drop for my son. Though they will be sent out in batches over a good few hours, automated.

Whilst technologically it may be better, and I am baffled it has taken this long to get a ticket app on the go etc my biggest issue with it is that it is not ready for production use. All the points are taken from "Test Import" and there are large parts of it that are unstyled, making it look shoddy.

I'm presuming these things will be tidied up in due course, and it was just rushed out the door by Secutix to meet the deadline. I wouldn't necessarily lay the blame at the door of the SFA specifically on that one, we've all been promised the world by 3rd party contractors and then let down when it came to the crunch.

  2. Saw Hungary ticket when I logged in but couldn’t add to basket.

In fairness, there’s no way I would have managed to get another for the wee man and I knew chances were slim today so overall not too disappointed.

In the ballot again so not all hope is lost.

I think il just wait on the ballot me and my son are on 10 points but I’m paying both so 800 is too much for 1 game

I'm the same, I can't justify/afford €800 for two football tickets and everything else involved in going. Will start saving for Euro 2028!

I emailed the SFA and this was there response.

No, the email addresses do not need to match. You can have different email addresses however, it is too late to change the email address that your access code will be sent to.

So, looks all good to have different email addresses for SFA and UEFA.

Excellent, and apologies for the confusion

Typed this out then saw your post... I agree with you re: average price, but issue with Munich is that the average price is still a scandal, so you wouldn't get the buy in from the members with higher points!
    ...

12 pointer here.  Selfishly hoping that the SSC don't use this as a chance to restructure the sale in any way, but I don't think I could complain if they did.  If I was on 20+ points I'd be pissed of if 12 pointers were grabbing cheap tickets at my expense.

The money grab by UEFA is fucking angersome though.  I get that the opening fixture should maybe be more expensive for neutrals and the prawn sandwich brigade, but I think they could have offset the crazy expensive seats by offering more cheap category seats to the two unlucky associations.

It would have been nice if UEFA had allowed the assosciations more control of how the pricing is applied. Maybe then they could have agreed an approach that didn't involve huge massive disparity between the prices different SSC members will pay.

For example (cig packet calculation).  Before we were drawn in the opening fixture, - They could have offered a package to Games 1, 2 and 3 everyone on 12+ points for around 70 euro per match.  UEFA would not have lost a penny and everyone pays a similar (fair?) amount.  Different points thesholds / prices could apply, but you get the gist.  Granted, some people will have a better/worse view of the pitch than others who have paid the same, but it makes the whole process of seating with friends easier (because you lose the "category" from the ticket sale) and prevents unlucky ones from being extorted.

They could still do that for Games 2 and 3.  Have 12pts or more?  70ish euro and you are in.  Simple. No sweating or panicking.

I think the issue here is that UEFA are selling the tickets, and the SSC are the "middle man" to a certain extent. How much control the SSC have over the process is hard to say, but my guess is minimal. UEFA dictate the prices and the terms in which each association can sell those tickets. UEFA are selling the tickets through their site, not the SSC so will be fully managing the process and will want their money direct from fans, not via the SSC collecting it and sending it on. The quicker the cash hits their accounts the better.

There has been a balls up today for sure, but all UEFA will have done is void the access codes that were assigned to the SSC and generate new ones with a valid start date of 12 tomorrow. The SSC essentially have to do what UEFA tell them.

As we are waiting there are 5,070,842,774,902,500,000,000,000  different possible codes using 26 letters and 1-9 so we could try and guess our next three codes before they arrive.

Most of us would probably be able to do so before this shower gets it right.

Sounds like a job for ChatGPT.

So, was it just the case of creating a new uefa account with a different email address, or would I have to contact them as well

I just created a new one, no bother.

Not sure the email addresses have to match now, I may have been mistaken about that one.

Right when I click on the link from the SFA email to access the portal this comes up.

    AUTHENTICATION IN PROGRESS

It looks like the email address for your UEFA.COM account is already in use. You can link your account to the correct ID after login.

By associating your UEFA.COM account with the existing identifier, you will enjoy greater flexibility with your next connections.

when I put in my password it says password is wrong, have reset about 3 times to new password but getting the same everytime, any ideas, cheers

Not to panic you, but I had that the other day and contacted UEFA about it. They told me that "there was something wrong with my account" and told me to create a new one, which I did.

Not sure how that works now with the emails having to match the SSC one though.

  9. Someone at the SFA is clearing their desk as we speak. I'm guessing there was an error in the script used to generate the lists of emails, and they now have to check the lists again. Or they used an old list and generated the emails from that.

  10. I don't think it will be. UEFA will want the cash in from folk who might get to see their team. From their perspective, no point in waiting for a decent chunk of your customers to find reasons not to pay for their tickets.

My gut is they will require payment for ballot tickets before the draw in order to maximise their revenue.

Hopefully these high pointers who intend to only go to 1 game, only apply for 1 rather than all 3, leaving the other games to some of those on 10 points or below

That's what I am banking on!

Long shot I know, but at least I will have tried.

  12. Do we know when the cut-off is likely to be?

I'm guessing after the March games which would bump me to 11 points (assuming we have a home game in March) which might be just under the required number. Circumstances dictate I am unlikely to get an away game in, if there were any, before then.

  13. I'd far rather test the defensive attributes of Cooper, Taylor and Patterson against players who pose a challenge than watch them stroke the ball about the back for 90 minutes against a minnow.

No value in that, can do that in training all day long.

I think Clarke is very good at looking at the big picture and knows there is a process and plan between now and the Euros (and beyond) and is working towards that. Yes he wants to win every game, but knows there are different things to look at that are not 100% result focussed to the detriment of other areas.

Perhaps though I doubt either Zander Clark or Liam Kelly will see any game time. And both of them? Highly unlikely.  I actually think Cooper, McLean (and maybe even Taylor) may not make the Euros squad.

The only two non-first-team players last night whose additon I'd say was beneficial (and I'm not talking about forced changes) were Brown and Souttar. And I admit Brown is only with the benefit of hindsight.

Keepers aren't rotated in the same way as outfield players generally, but would you want someone to make their debut against a top side in a major tournament? Whilst I have doubts over their quality compared to Gunn and Gordon, still useful to play the keepers last night.

We know what Porteous offers, and offering players such as Cooper, Patterson, McLean more time in our system and tactics is only a benefit. They get used to what is being asked of them, where they should be etc and that can only be a benefit when it comes to the future. The more practice they have in the system the easier it is to slot in when asked. The reason Considine was called up a couple of years ago was because he played a back 3 at Aberdeen and was easier to slot in if needed.

It was a weird feeling at the end of that match. I've completely ignored the score because I thought we played really well in really quite an open game. A few years back we'd have camped out in our own half for the 90, but we took it too the French last night, with a second string side. With, at least, our first choice defence, I think it would have been a lot closer. 48% possession and 520 passes to their 580 shows how well we competed. Brown also showed he could be a good option upfront too. I am surprisingly pretty pleased with that performance

I thought they played well, and the most attacking I've seen against a top side for a while. It was good to see how well McTominay and Gilmour were on the ball, especially under pressure. I thought those 2 in the middle of the park were always showing for the ball and offered an out ball throughout the game.

On the ball we weren't afraid to pass it out from the back and play our game which was nice to see, often against the bigger sides we've frozen up a bit and not played our natural game. The biggest issue I had with the England game was that we didn't play our usual game and seemed a bit in awe of the bigger team. That was not an issue last night which was good to see.

I think it was beneficial for Clarke to have an understanding of a system that seemed a better balance of attack and defence than we've seen previously, and slotting in the first choice players offers hope that we can compete against some of the bigger sides.

  16. The tactics from Clarke have been good I think. We all know the personnel are nowhere near a full strength side, but we’ve looked composed on the ball at times and had the right ideas at times. We’ve not just sat everyone behind the ball and have tried to get men forward when we can.

I thought against Croatia and even England at times that the midfield was completely overrun and lacking, with sitting too deep at times. Tonight we’ve pushed up and tried to press and gain the ball back higher up. A bit more bravery at times and we could have created more chances.

This might form a bit of a blueprint of how we setup against bigger teams next year with a better balance between stopping the opposition and trying to get forward to hurt them when we can.
