Playing days are over, only played at Sunday level as I was always out Saturdays.

Coach the loons team now and there’s no way I’m chasing 15 year old kids about a football pitch anymore, too old for that nonsense.

Ours are 2011's and just about to switch to full 11 a side from 9's. I can just about keep up with them but give it another year and the tables will be turned. I take the school team too so I take 3 training sessions and 2 games a week. Absolutely hate the reffing but the boy's clubs get official refs when they move to 11's. I'll need to keep doing the school reffing though 🤦🏻🙄

  2. Played for the Uni then a wee bit amateur in Dundee in my early 30's before my knees said no. Odd 5s through my 40's but I started coaching my wee boy's team just as we came out of lockdown and probably play about an hour and a half a week with the boys at training. Knees holding up but although it was pretty easy to begin with, the boys are getting bigger and better and I turn 56 next week 😂 They're all in boots/shinnies for training and myself and the other coaches are getting cuts and bruises as the boys are clattering us every chance they get 😂 We encourage them to be competitive 👍

  3. Can understand how the ref may have thought the second defender would have got back in time to make a challenge in real time, but slowed down its clear the Celtic player would have had time to get an effort away one on one. Didn't think it was red myself in real time but VAR used correctly to reach the right decision on this one, for me.

Grant Hanley stretchered off today with what is descibed as a non-contact injury. Reports say he was holding his head and writhing in pain. Does not sound good for him.

Hanley out for season with achilles and McLean out with knee ligament damage. From Norwich manager after the match.

  5. As I headed towards retirement age, I was also hacked off with my job. I took the plunge when redundancy was on the table and went back to Uni at 50 to train as a Primary Teacher. Takes 2 years to get fully qualified and I'm currently in my fourth year of teaching as I approach 56 next month. I think the change has worked well for me. Really enjoy it and have no plans, as yet, to stop. I'm also coaching boy's football (and school team) and taking my badges. Can't imagine what I'd do with nothing to do, if that makes any sense 😂 I get 13 weeks holidays a year and work Monday to Friday. Kids are 10 and 12. My Mrs is 5 years younger and runs her own yoga classes, so as long as we're fit and healthy, we're just going to keep going. In 10 years I'll hit state pension age. Might stop full time a few years earlier and do supply teaching. Ultimately, between my previous employment pension, 15 years teacher's pension and state pension, I should be mortgage free and just over 2 grand a month at 65/66. Quite happy with that 👍

  6. Reminds me of a line used by a friend to describe an encounter involving cunnilingus. "Ah wis like a wee dug wi' a burst baw."

Aye, in that big hotel that was the main hotel back then.

When we were there the other year, it was a big empty shell.

Was the wallpaper not sticking to the wall anymore?
