Just on the boat to La Palma from Los Cristianos. Best flight ever from Prestwick, parked right at the terminal, nae queues and u can still get mwi on the plane! 😎

Wait till you have to deal with Border control on return. At midnight last Thursday they were telling elderly Scottish folk they were not allowed into the country if they had not completed their entry form. Completely false statement and terrible attitude towards people in their seventies and eighties who don't know what a phone download is. I blame our Dear Leader for her Spanish divergence.

Some suggestions that quarantine restrictions might be lifted for the Canaries which would be helpful to me at least. Glad to hear that you enjoyed the book m8, cheers 👍

Canaries, Balearics and Costa Blanca all have better figures than Scotland. She doesn't  care as she on a mission to exterminate no matter what.

What is the situation with the forms you have fill in on arrival in Spain is there one you do online or is there a physical one you hand in at say border control  ?

Last week at Alicante airport I had to hand a completed locater form in, this gives your whereabouts in Spain and contact numbers. Ryanair alerted me to this the day before I was due to fly. Best check with airline.

Anyone been around shops today? Are people complying? I've worn a mask from the beginning, but I've been in the minority on every occasion I've been on a bus or in a shop. Just have a feeling there will be an element of deliberate non-compliance.

Masks make sense and it is probably a reaction to us constantly  being told what to do by the Dear Leader. In Spain, although not compulsory to wear in all situations you must always carry a mask. Failure to do so and the fine is 1000 euros.

We fly out on Sunday. The island we are going to has had 7 cases and zero deaths throughout the whole pandemic. If wee Nic wants me to quarantine when I get back fair enough. It'll cost me 9 days annual leave I could do with hanging onto but other than that I'm not arsed. 🙅‍♂️

That's me on the quarantine, flew back  from Alicante. on a flight  which had only forty passengers aboard. Mad NS has left many bewildered in the holiday resorts and is also a cause of merriment from our southern neighbours.

Airport procedures painstaking but worth it in the end so enjoy your break. Read your book in three days and enjoyed.

Where you going m8? Im on holiday for 3 weeks soon and wouldn't mind getting away but Mrs Slasher isn't keen on flying yet.

Me and better half heading to  Villamartin which is 30 miles south of Alicante airport. Love it there as it is virtually all expat pubs selling drink at ridiculous prices. Me and TA pals always go in May to enjoy 4 days of Sun and San Miguel to coincide with Scottish cup final.

Got to say its anarchy in Southside of Glasgow.

    People everywhere.

    Social distancing not being followed.

Loads of youngsters about in groups and drinking outside last night.

    Why?

2 months lockdown worn people out.

Messages from UK & Scot Govt are harder to follow. People will follow strict guidelines but using their own logic? We expect to much from them.

WEATHER! Most important.  What a past 2 months we have had. SUN SUN SUN.

Agree messages are getting more complicated and the 2 week quarantine on return from holiday is ridiculous. Telling thousands of people to be economically inactive for 14 days on top of their time off is just unbelievable. Wonder if NS backs this policy?

It's becoming clear that even people who don't have much time for our FM think she has been statesmanlike in her approach and handling of this crisis. My parents aren't Sturgeon fans by any stretch, but we were talking last night and their estimations of her have gone off the scale. Granted, she hasn't got everything right, but she has never hid and taken on difficult questions. Unlike that tousled haired cunt that masquerades as PM

Sorry to say i'm afraid NS has been well off the pace. Other similar size countries reacted quicker and better whilst she opted to go along  with Boris. Only now is she trying to do what is right for us.

My parents read the Daily Mail (don't ask me why, I can't nderstand it myself), have done for years and both of them voted Yes in 2014 and have voted SNP since before that.

All 3 of their kids vote similarly, although none of us read the DM!

Read it for about 20 years ignoring the political tripe. In my defence I never started work until early afternoon and there was plenty of reading in it to kill time. Still read football online and have a glance at the News, which is amusing.

One of the reasons that NHS Tayside tends to have better numbers for A&E, than other parts of Scotland, is that they have a policy of being quite strict (still not strict enough IMO) at "redirecting" patients who turn up at A&E who shouldn't be there. In order to achieve that, they have had to make a big effort engaging with GPs so that these patients don't get totally ignored. One of the reasons a lot of folk turn up at A&E is because they think that their GP can't or won't help them. A lot of folk won't even consider calling NHS24. IMO GP practices, and how they operate, are a big part of the problem here. GPs could take a much bigger role in solving these problems.

Agree with what you are saying, GPs switch their phones to NHS 24  at 6pm weekdays and all weekend.  There is a massive shortage of out of hours Doctors on call and even with great financial rewards on offer they mostly avoid it. I would change their contracts to at least one night a month on call.

I wonder if this will change peoples attitudes about using A& E  in the future.
Unfortunately there will always be road accidents , and sporting injuries is part and parcel of the game so hard to avoid, but I imagine A&E deal with a lot of avoidable ailments and unnecessary visits.
Folk will probably just go back to normal but it would do no harm for the government to highlight how much the low A&E numbers during this virus  has taken pressure off the NHS,  in the hope it might make people think twice about whether they really need to go  there in future .

Ongoing A&E need to get in the habit of advising folk when it is a NHS24 problem not A&E. Some punters are told to go outside and phone, but not enough. Should be standard practice at triage. It's in the wording ACCIDENT and EMERGENCY.

He added that 20 to 30-year-olds represented a fifth of the economy and said such moves could allow the limited reopening of bars and restaurants — but only if those people were in the right age category.

Will be hard to action this, if you live with your parents your not going out but your pals are. I cannot see too many 20 somethings sitting at home with Mummy and Daddy. Can see a rush on fake ID cards for 30 somethings whilst us older drinkers remain grounded.

Yes I’ve used that at times. Online, I mainly play through Playchess.com as when I’m weary of getting hammered there’s usually a grandmaster or two knocking around to watch.

Having said that, I prefer over the board. I play district league & occasional regional league games. At least you know whoever you are playing isn’t using a computer to pick out tricky moves.

    Do you play much yourself?

Logged as over 18 days total hours on lichee. My failing is playing too quick and if opponent is too slow I lose concentration.

Well I’ve (apparently) got a minimum of 3 months of this. Luckily I have my beer supply sorted although I’m banned from takeaways. My main positivity targets are:

I play chess a fair bit & have bought a training book so that I’m actually going to try & practice for the first time ever.

Ive been learning Spanish for about 10 years. I’m averaging about a word a year at the moment so going to see if I can pick that up.

I intend to impress my wife when she comes back that in fact the house has not become infected with rats not me with lice.

Any two of those & I’ll feel like it was worth the effort.

Try lichess.org free site for chess where you compete against similar standard opponents.

I'm going to Australia, hopefully, (via Dubai) on Wednesday. Been checking Emirates flights, Dubai airport for information. At this time flights are ok, deep cleaning etc. Dubai airport staff are checking your temp. when we go for connection. Me and the Mrs are not leaving the house until we head to the airport. Pretty confident it will be ok. Only thing that is pissing me of is that I gave my tickets away for the Israel game thinking I wouldn't be here to see it. Now it will probably be re-arranged when I am here and don't have a ticket. Fuck coronavirus...…...

Was only due to go to Costa Blanca but decided against it as all Bars to close for a fortnight.
