So quarantine on arrivals from Spain is to be lifted at the end of the week, the reason it was not removed previously was "high numbers". Hate to tell you Nicola numbers are even higher at present. I can't fathom out your logic on this one.

So has this 14 day quarantine pish been lifted then? I was just told by someone in the NHS that it had been since last Friday?
Not lifted for Spain currently or for anyone who had to quarantine from anywhere before Fri 10th. I know someone who arrived from Amsterdam on the 8th, he was told he still had to quarantine till 14 days completed. No backdating freedom.

Yeah but have you see Teecee’s tan ?
Not so good this year Jim only 1 week in Spain this summer. In all honesty went because Ryanair would not offer refund for flights.

How are they enforcing it? If you decided to say fuck it and go out would they know or care?
The whole thing seems mickey mouse. From what I can see it is ok for a visitor to come to the UK, name a relative's house as their place of quarantine, then spend two weeks in 'quarantine' while living with a household full of people who are not in quarantine and who are coming and going as they please.
Everything about the UK and Scotland's response has been a day late and a dollar short... half arsed garbage.
Supposed to by text and phone but can visit, day 5 and nor even a text. I tend to agree it's half arsed but think that suits our government.

It's all about context though
Since NS & her Gov have diverged from Westminster Covid policy ( how much is arguable) their approach & guidance seems to be working so at the moment it seems a bit churlish to be attacking her on this issue
Cannot deny she is doing good job now with regards to the Virus. My biggest concern is the economy and unemployment which by coming out slowly could be devastating. This will hit youngsters especially hard and Bojo will not assist. Maybe from about 3 weeks ago less emphasis on crushing the virus and more on opening economy.

You normally a reasonable poster ages with myself - maybe?? you did your flight research which is fine but then couldn't help yourself. Disagree or don't believe is fine but keep it amicable. Thanks.

Since the pandemic isn’t over I’d imagine they wont be getting a holiday anytime soon. And if they do get a break, I’d take a guess that after knocking their pan in the last few months, surronded by absolute chaos, the last think they would want to do was fly off to the Med in an aeroplane rammed with moaning old bastards like you, whinging about Sturgeon, forms and apps. 🤷♂️
Agree not so many medical workers going abroad on holiday. When UK quarantine was established essential health workers were exempt from the 2 week isolation when entering the country, The Scottish Govt opted out of this therefore classing Doctors and Nurses etc as non essential workers ( hard to believe). Upshot is any Scottish medical worker returning from Spain has 2 weeks quarantine whilst RUK straight back to work. Another Dear Leader pearl.

What did these threats involve? What were they actually threatening to do to them? Steal their talcum powder before bundling them back onto a plane bound to one of those black sites for a full interrogation?
That's what I was thinking at the time, they gonna send them back to Alicante? Absurd situation.

Is that the Ryanair flight FR962 from Alicante to Prestwick on 9/7/2020 that landed at 2255 according to Flightradar?
2355 it landed, delayed as we had to change planes. thanks for research.

Hassling pensioners eh? Refusing to let them into the country? I'd suggest you are talking utter shite.
Agree with you utter shite, threatening folk with no foundation as cannot deny entry to UK citizens.

I thought you were flying back from Alicante ? Is that not Costa Blanca ?
The point is the situation can change at at anytime . Costa del Sol has seen a resurgence of the virus since holidaymakers started returning. If I were in my 70’s and 80’s I dont think I would be taking the chance.Just noticed my error thanks Costa Blanca is correct old age and sunstroke to blame. On your point I tend to agree with your take on it being ill in a foreign country not recommended.

Strange priority.
I think people in their 70’s and 80’s who are travelling abroad at this time might have more to worry about than filling in a form. Not if their destination has a lower infection rate than us. Costa Brava, Canary Isles and Balearics do have.

Have i got this right
Selfish only thinking of themselves cunts go on holiday during a pandemic and are annoyed about a bit of form filling when they come back in case they might be bringing back an infection that could affect non selfish cunts that have stayed at home ?
Is that it ?
Just out of interest , would you class the medical workers and others key workers who have worked during the pandemic as selfish if they went on holiday?
