I have never been a fan of joint hosts for major tournaments. It should always be like next summer's Euros - in one country. If a country do not have the facilities - too bad you miss out. The Euros should rotate between Germany, France, Spain, Italy and England for the Euros. If any other country puts in a solo bid over joint hosts it should win out. Same goes for the World Cup with those European nations mentioned above being on the rotating hosts list along with USA, Argentina, Brazil, South Africa, Japan and Mexico. Again if another country outs in a solo bid then let them have it over a joint bid.

That might get a wee bit dull eventually, I’m happy enough with two nearby countries hosting together.  Five, with four of them only contributing one stadium each and the other with six or eight or whatever it is, that’s ludicrous and smacks of tokenism.

  2. I’ve got three home end tickets I don’t need now. I have promised two to someone if he wants them but I definitely have one available if anyone is interested.

    Afraid they’re the expensive ones.

Its a friendly, it's there for the team.

Nots sure we're in position to pick and choose who we play based on how many tickets we get.

It’s tough for those hoping to climb the points ladder though.  I missed an Ireland ticket last year by a point so went home end.  Had I got that I’d have got a Norway ticket this year instead of home end again, and I’d be on 16 points so would get an away ticket for this and 18 points, rather than home again, still on 12 and still having to book flights and hotels while they’re cheap and hoping for tickets.

I didn’t even attempt Cyprus cos I had no idea if I could get a ticket, and by the time I’d find out, well, it’s an island and flights would be too expensive

Still think the system is fair, but they could’ve surely sorted these particular tickets out months ago?

If I were Clarke I would not make it easy for him. Name him in the next squad and if England do the same he then has made his choice if/when he pulls out of Scotland squad.

There’s no point naming somebody in a squad if they don’t want to be in it. You’d just make yourself look silly, or desperate.

I’d ask him if he was interested, but I doubt he’d say yes.

    Ok.

Definately saw €49 ones on the French FA site, but does appear as if now blocked from getting back in.

Strange I got in just the once but now can't.

Could it be that the cheap tix I previously saw were in the section reserved for Scots and that these are the ones which will be made available to Scottish FA?

Would be nice to think so, but when I went on the €29 tickets were behind the goals in the home end, and seemed to be reserved for registered French supporters clubs or whatever.

I didn’t have any problem when I initially went into the site, or when I bought my tickets.  I checked later on though and it was restricted by location. VPN worked though.

As 4,000 cheap Spanish tickets for a competitive game were enough for everyone on 12 points, I’d hope that 2,500 very expensive French ones for a friendly will also go to 12.

Tickets appear to start at €49 on French FA site.

Not on sale yet but appears you can register interest.

Got three tickets for the home end on 4th September, all cheap ones had gone at that point.

Hoping my 12 points might get SSC tickets, in which case I have those three to sell!

That's a mental price for a midweek friendly. Also given that the French won't be that interested either.

I imagine there'll be a few empty seats.

Looks like the French have almost sold out already.

Can't see a real problem getting a ticket from the ssc. Especially with it being so close to the Spain game and it being a friendly. The stadium holds 50000 so even if we get 5% that will obviously be 2500 which for a friendly midweek would be a pretty good support.

October week though.  Not difficult to get to. I’d imagine demand may be higher than you think.

  9. Home end tickets seem to be selling like hot cakes.  Maybe they play in Lille very often?  I got three home ends for €79 each which is the cheapest that’s left.

Concerned the away allocation Amy be small given home demand.

  10. I’m on 12 points and so far have always had to get home end tickets (yeah, I know I could’ve got for Cyprus, but couldn’t make the date).  There should be enough in the Scotland end for this, right?  No need to buy France tickets as safety net?
Wish they’d get tickets out more quickly, game is in six weeks.
