I would try to look further outside. How about Leverkusen, Bergisch Gladbach, Dormagen, Niederkassel, Pulheim? Those are all bordering the city and you should get back there after the game. Either last or first connection. If you are fine with taking first train back you could even look for Bonn, Düren, Düsseldorf, Horrem, Langenfeld.

    Cheers,

Ah - does this mean you can’t get back to Bonn after the game?  That might have saved me making a big mistake.

Yeah fair point. It seemed easy to me because I got them and my 3 mates all got the same as me but I appreciate that others weren’t as lucky. We all had our codes in the field from 11:55 and clicked submit at 12 on the dot.

Aye, same.  I’d even copied all my codes into text files so I could copy and paste for my son and do it all as quickly as possible.  And my older boy was next to me on another laptop sorting his.

Happy enough with what I got, I just tell myself that the extra couple of hundred quid is just like needing new tyres on my motor.  Not gonna fret about it.

It is possible because 2 bonus points are available.

I agree with the rest of your points though. The SSC loyalty system is not designed to give people with high points first go at cheaper tickets.

If it wasn’t for the huge discrepancy between the cheap tickets and expensive tickets nobody would be moaning about it.

It wasn’t that difficult to get FF tickets today if you entered your code at 12:00 exactly. I got one easily enough for Munich and bought cat 3 tickets for the other 2 games as a choice (FF tickets were still available).

I was in at 12 exactly and wasn’t able to get FF for any of the games. Just luck I suppose.

  4. Might have missed this, but is there a specific link to go to to buy tickets when the codes come out today?

just looking at uefa.com/tickets and there’s only an option to Apply for Tickets, which is the standard UEFA public sale I think.

No catch, just Berlin isn't that close to munich and the 12th is 2 days before the opening game so less people will be flying out then

True, but the trains from Berlin to Munich are plentiful, so two nights in Berlin then wheech down to Munich on the Friday morning.

Can't quite understand what fans are being asked to pay the extra for? Are we actually paying for some shyty open ceremony?

As long as there are dancers in lederhosen and maybe some folk dressed as characters from Grimm Brothers stories, I’m in.

Actually, I’m paying for three so if I can’t get Cat 1 at worst I’m probably in a fan zone for the first game.  Can’t justify over a grand for a game of football.

Looking at our last 2 home games in October, Hungary + Malta

Scotland called up Manchester City wonder kid Emilio Lawrence but didn’t feature for Gemmill

He was an unused Sub for both games, did he ‘ Gemmill ‘ call him up just to have a look at him I wonder?
Surely he merited some game time, with the amount of talent / hype that surrounds this lad.

I now see Emilio Lawrence wasn’t in the Squad for November fixtures away to Belgium + Hungary

He withdrew injured from the latest squad.

Aye of course, you are right. We were 3-0 up in a completely different match inside half an hour therefore our performance last night was reminiscent of 1970s Brazil or Ajax 95.

I thought your criticisms were more general than just one specific match.  I was just pointing out that despairing at how poor our under 21s are compared to Hungary’s ignores the fact that we horsed them only a month ago.

Not pulling up trees is a bit of an under-statement for me. We were completely and comprehensively outplayed by Hungry. That *might* be forgivable if a) it was an outlier because we were short of our best players and b) we were playing lovely football when we had the ball. Neither of those things are true - our 21s consistently play like this even with our best players available, we were playing 1980s British style football and humping it long every opportunity.

This is probably the best 21s side on paper I can remember. We have multiple players playing at a high level in our squad including at the top level in England, Austria, Belgium, Italy and Scotland as well as multiple players playing at a decent level across the divisions in England. I think every single one of the Hungarians is playing in Hungarian domestic football and some of them are playing in the second tier of their domestic league. They may or may not be decent but this isn't a top class side - they made ours look like diddies.

Not at home to Hungary they didn’t.  They were 3-0 up inside half an hour.

    Thuram hits the bar now.

Seemed to be interfering with play as much as Hendry did for our disallowed goal in Spain, tbf.

Did you not notice it was one of the big teams that scored? 😶

And they’re at home as well.

Yeh Charleroi, wise choice to fly into that city in the morning as it's certainly not the most interesting place to be stuck in overnight.

Good luck crossing the border, you'll need to be patient as I'm sure the control will be a lot stronger than normal.

They can stop you at the France/Belgium border?
