When the rest of the Uk is knocking back the Tories , Scotland returns 13 Tory MP's the most in Scotland for over 30 years and that number will most probably help them form a coalition with the DUP .

Scotland can now sit and pick up the scraps from the Tory table and as has happened for centuries do as your told.

    Shame on you Scotland !!!!!!

Eh naw... let's be accurate here. Shame on N.E. Scotland (as well as a few other constituencies).

I never voted Tory and neither did my constituency

Loved Ohrid.   A smallish town, and is the touristy bit of Macedonia.   Lots of small bars/restaurants, with probably something for all tastes.   The hill around the fortress is testing in the heat, but a nice view.

Had some fun in a storm there ourselves.   Sitting in an open restaurant perched over the lake, we could see it coming in across the water.  Soon the waves were coming up through the floor while the rain fell in the beer.

There'll be live folk music playing in some restaurants.   There were some restaurants up the hill around a church (St Sophia?) which were quite romantic at night.   The tiny St Jovan Kaneo church is very picturesque in the sun.

Macedonian bevvy is Rakija (as an aperitif or digestive :P) and beer is usually Skopsko.   Instead of butter, try ajvar (red pepper spread) on yer bread.

Night life, I dunno.   Usually knackered and gone to bed early.

Excellent - cheers for that. I'm looking forward to it a lot

Night life will be of no concern of mine - I'm too old for that! And going with the wife and our wee 2 year old in anycase.

Favourites of mine in Sofia were the Happy Bar & Grill and a cheap wee back street bar called the Up and Down.

In Skopje, go across the Old Stone Bridge to the Old Bazaar area for food & drink.

We drove from Sofia to Skopje (mainly so we could also visit Ohrid), and it was an adventure in itself.   The hire company provided the right border papers & insurance for Macedonia.   I needed an international driving permit, but don't see them on the country list any more.

August there will be a furnace.

Going to Ohrid fairly shortly. How did you find it?

The weather there just now is causing me anxiety!! (very thundery and stormy)

This is a weird one. Corbyn was going nowhere just a few weeks ago. Lame duck leader sitting on top of a crippled party. And nothing really has changed with that since then. Corbyn is Corbyn, same guy doing the same things as he was before when he was 24 points behind May.

What changed was May decided to call a snap election that the whole country did not want. And now he is surging. I think she has triggered something here. She must be shitting it.

I'd love you to be proved correct, but i really cant see it in a million years

Seems to be a trend these days in a lot of places. Presumably easier to steward or some shite.

    Utter bollocks for atmosphere though.

Have a look at the Ross Co V Accies highlights. Not that there was many, but the Accies fans were shoehorned right in beside the corner flag whilst the rest of the stand (including behind the goals) lay empty. Cant have made for much a view - meanwhile the better seats are lying completely empty.

I'm not sure if they have been bank rolled, I hope not as it would be a great GIRUY to the likes of Cove, Brora and Formartine.

Buckie are confident they had permission of the league so I am hoping they get the go ahead. They still have to beat Strathspey on saturday at home which should be a formality since strathspey are the league whipping boys.

Yeah they should win that. Although Cove recently could only draw 0-0 with them - a result that looks like costing them the title.

Anyone else been keeping tabs on the situation in the Highland League?

Buckie Thistle looked set to be champions and play in the playoff match but Cove Rangers have complained that they have fielded an ineligible player against Formartine on Saturday. The players in question was recalled from a loan spell and was only on the bench, he did not get on the pitch. Buckie say they had permission of the league, there's a meeting on Thursday to discuss.

It would be a spectacular mess if Buckie were docked points and lost the league because of this

Yes been keeping a very keen eye on it, but didn't know about the ineligible player situation.

That would be tough on Buckie if they were to lose league on the strength of that, especially after such an amazing season. (seemingly from nowhere too - has someone put money into Buckie?)

Ironically the one who has had the most successful international career plays for neither Scotland nor England - Ollie Norwood, now of Northern Ireland.

And also Thomas Cruise. Went on to have a very successful career in the film industry.

    I'm a clyde supporter!
I suspect you are a Shire supporter which if you are i have huge respect, takes a lot supporting teams in the lower leagues! In my eyes they have been taking up a place in lower leagues which i believe more ambitious teams in Lowlands or Highlands have the right to compete for. If pyramid system had came into play a few years back, who knows where clyde would be, i'm just grateful we are no longer sitting at bottom of this hellhole of a league.

    Really in the sh!t now..

Don't think England have a friendly confirmed either. We've played June qualifiers before without a friendly, Germany and Moldova for example.

Do they not? I must say I thought England usually had their friendlies sorted out way in advance - perhaps not this time.

England game is a fortnight after the cup final, so could work out that a number of players will go a few weeks without a game beforehand (in the case of any players in the Championship in England who aren't involved in the play off, about a month I'd have thought!)

  11. Totally preposterous that, on the fairly reasonable assumption we'll take on a friendly game the week before the England game, we actually have no idea what our next match is!

    SFA in a nutshell....

East Kilbride one win from winning the Lowland League after beating Hawick last night.  Should probably happen at Civil Service on Saturday but they've got four games if they need them.

Play-off v Buckie or Cove probably, winners to play Cowdenbeath (or Clyde)?

Having looked well detached a couple of weeks ago, Cowdenbeath could escape yet. They play Clyde a week on Saturday in a huge match (and Edinburgh the week after who aren't safe themselves).

It's a shame for East Stirling but in all honesty they brought absolutely nothing to the table. We played there a month or so ago & they must have only had 80-100 home supporters. What i do hope for them though is that dropping into the Lowland league can help them sort the club out, find a more suitable ground & if winning more games can start to get some supporters back through the turnstyle. From what i'm hearing though there is the chance of them going out of business(?) which obviously nobody likes to see.

With Edinburgh City in the league means we get two days out in the capital next season rather than Ochiliview, happy days!

In the knowledge that you're a Clyde fan, and all that they've brought to the table - you'll be feeling a touch anxious after last night.

Hanley wouldn't be in my top 4 centerbacks for us right now and wouldn't be getting a call.

LIndsey's got a decent number of games behind him (coming up on 80 for his career) and you've got the think he's nudging infront of the likes of John Souttar and Danny Wilson. Could be worth a half against Canada.

I would definitely have a look at him v Canada. Sadly there's no way in this world Strachan would ever call up a player from Partick Thistle

    Hi there

It has been on my to-do list for a few years now, so thinking of running a marathon this year before I get too old to run a decent time.

Been looking at the Perthshire and Fort William runs later this year.

Thing that puts me off the Perthshire one is that it's a half marathon course that you run round twice, think I'd struggle with that psychologically.

Fort William run mentions various terrain, don't want to be running through forests and mud tracks.

Think I will have to pick one of them though as this will fit into a 16 week training plan which I aim to complete prior to the race.

Any advice / tips would be greatly appreciated.

I would recommend avoiding both those. For your first, I think you should look to one of the mass participation events (Edinburgh and Loch Ness come to mind) as the crowds and fellow runners will keep your spirits up, especially for those last few miles.

Im pretty sure both the ones you mention get pretty small fields, and you could find yourself running on your own for large chunks of the race, and very few people there when you cross the finishing line,
