Dundee Utd had the say to put them down.  Everyone knows that.  Silly boy.  Anyway put your mortgage on Morelos to run riot tomorrow.  2 goals at least.  You heard it here first.  Ryan Jack phoned me.  Ibrox is buzzing.  It's up to other teams to respond to the revival of a great side.  Not pull the blanket over and insist that Rangers don't exist.  That would be silly would it not?  Shakespear said 'facts are chiels that dinna whing'.

Put down is an apt phrase, since they are still on the mortuary slab at BDO.

Everyone has an opinion kid.  That's why we are the Rangers.  Don't you get dragged in to the bile.  The team that supposedly 'died' are in the group stages in Europe and favourites for the old firm game tomorrow.  Calm your bile x

Please point out the bile in my post.

Rangers entered administration, please advise how they exited said administration.

You know fine that Dundee Utd put the nail in the coffin for Rangers and sent them down the leagues.  Everyone knows that.  Bitterness and bile were behind yon move.  But we all knew Rangers would come back.  The non sectarian club are back with a bite.  Getting the choo choo up to old Edina today to the Hebs if anyone fancies a beer or six.  Scotland Forever.

Rangers weren't sent down the leagues.

Rangers cheated and then they died.

Bundesliga 2 kicking off today and again no sign of Bates in the Hamburg team. Injured? If not surely a transfer needed

New HSV trainer, Dieter Hecking, supposedly doesn‘t see him (along with Sakai & Janjicic) as a long term option. Would wait a couple of weeks & see if that‘s still the case.

I suppose it depends on their bizarreness in relation to spookiness .

If you saw a rainbow just over Wembley, whilst sober,  on a hot day and the moment  before Leigh Griffiths scored his second free kick against England then that  is spooky enough to post in this thread.

If , on the other hand,  you saw the ghost of Jock Stein hover ( that in itself would be a small miracle) above Leigh and after 10 pints of Stella then that can go to TA Specific 🙂

If you were in Wembley when the 2nd free kick went in, you were in the wrong stadium.

    Peter shilton?

racking my brains to remember them being team mates?

Both played for Southampton in the early 80ies.

There is unlikely to be any punishment if they go past 120 days. It's looked at as more of a gentleman's agreement but most countries have met the requirement. Hopefully Russia do too, as they have done for previous fixtures to date in this campaign.

It's in the rules of the tournament. Go to Article 26

And no Bates unless he's injured.

Posted a photo on twitter last night of him watching tv with a cast over his foot, so injured.

Partially torn ankle ligament. Out for two months, hopes to be back for when the BL2 gets underway at the end of July.

  9. Lufthansa cancelled today’s 12:05 flight to Frankfurt yesterday. The 14:40 flight they rebooked me on to currently at 1:55 hour delay.

Things not helped with there being a strike in Italy between 10am & 2pm today. Took ca. 40 minutes just to drop the baggage off!

I switched between the Hamburg and Sheffield United vs Leeds match, but I only caught the first half of both:

Cooper is not very good, he'll probably be sold when Leeds get promoted. Fleck will probably hold his own in the EPL, but as a bottom-mid table player.

The Bates one is a stumper, in the first half Hamburg were strolling it 2:0... then I turn off and the lose 2:3. I don't know whether any of the goals were Bates's fault. One thing I will say is that Hamburg play football the right way, they play football on the deck, so Bates is definitely learning good habits.

1st goal, right-back Sakei fell asleep and left the Darmstadt player with acres of time & space. 2nd goal was direct from a free-kick.

At the 3rd would say Bates should have done much better. Darmstadt player took it round him fairly easily before slotting home.

Derek Rae was chatting about how much better 3. liga compared to Budasliga 2 this season a week or two ago, with the teams you mention, plus Cottbus (who would yo-yo between Budalisga and Budasliga 1 until fairly recently) and Hansa Rostock.

Derek Rae is talking mince. About the only interest in the 3. Liga is whether Braunschweig go down to the Regionalliga Nord.

    3. Liga is shown only on a subscribe Telekom TV channel.

Seems to have really been taken in by the HSV fans and getting some really good reviews (club have nicknamed him the "Ginger Ramos").

Think next season will tell a lot of Hamburg can get back into Bundasliga , as Budasliga 2 is rather poor this year and it is no wonder Hamburg and Koln are running away with it (though Union Berlin are breathing down their necks) and 3rd Liga is actually getting more attention this year with all the big names in their this season.

Hamburg still have to play both Köln & Berlin away. Couple of bad results and they could be in the play-off spot.

Don’t know what you’re basing your comments re. 3. Liga on. Apart from 1860 Münich, Kaiserslautern & Eintracht Braunschweig who are the „big“ names in the league.

    Just purchased this.

Do you receive all tickets at once?

Is it a season ticket type card?

Or are tickets simply tickets sent prior to the match?

You‘ll get all the tickets at the same time.

    A worry? Why's that?
He's been playing in Germany just 7 months, so still proving he's adapted to the culture.
He's playing in the 2nd tier. How often do top teams show interest in players in the 2nd tier? Rare in any country.
My German's not good enough to scour their gossip press for links.

That he's playing well, for a team up the top of the league, is great. 10 games left and they're a point off the top. So looking very likely he'll be a Bundesliga defender next season. A good year there (or maybe two) and we might see him linked with someone else. Also worth remembering that while they did go down, Hamburg are a big club, normally a top 10 side in Germany. He's in a good place tbh.

The last 5 years Hamburg have been chronic, staying up by the skin of their teeth. However despite taking them down they have stuck with trainer Hannes Wolf. Prior to him they’d had ca. 18 trainers in the past 10 years. Think this trainer stability will have had a positive rub-off on Bates. Be interesting to see what happens if they either don’t get promoted or go up subsequently struggle and go back to the same short-term policy regarding trainer success/failure.

They won 1-0 and he played the full 90 minutes. I'd like to see the stat of how many they've won when he was playing.

The Hamburg defence looked pretty poor. A mistake by Bates early on, plus he got done for speed during a couple of counter attacks by Dresden. The goal for Hamburg was brought about by a massive error by the young keeper in the Dresden goal.
