Okay our FA may not be the richest in the world but given the devotion and loyalty of our support given years of failure you'd expect they could do more to get a decent manager.  They just seem to local vision and ambition.

It was an absolute carve up the managerial appointment.

McRae waited until Regan fucked off, appointed his jakey pal who was skint and desperate for a job, before anyone could say anything about it.  This fucking shambles is all on the bawbags that were running the SFA at the time.

The TA will accept it and we'll throw away another few years.

  2. Belgium never out of first gear and cruised it.

A McGregor has to start on Monday.

Ryan Jack is absolute dross.  McDonald isn't much better.

Nothing gained from seeing Mulgrew, Naismith or Snodgrass playing again.

The McLeish appointment was such a stereotypical SFA dick move that I actually think they actively seek out failure.

I quite fancy Albania to take something on Monday.

Am I the only one that’s perversely looking forward to the first person to be sent off and not having a red card rescinded for kicking someone?

Its gonna be an epic story 😂😂

I fully expect it to be a game changing decision in Rangers favour with Lafferty the most likely 'victim'...

  4. Rangers and Celtic buses meeting at service stations along the way to a stadium would hardly be a new thing.  If they are in cup finals/semis at Hampden then they will be travelling from the length and breadth of the Country anyway.  Fans of both sides are far from exclusively based in Glasgow.

What ever choice is made, it should be made in the long term interests of Scottish football - as opposed to any short term benefits. With the decision being made by the SFA, I doubt that would be the case though.

Scotland as a Country and psyche is drenched in short termism shitbaggery and has been, probably, since the end of WW2.  There will be no outcome other than the short term one with the minimal financial benefit.  Hampden will win, they'll pay less and that'll be that for a few years.

Playing the biggest games at Celtic Park with the other games at Ibrox, Tynecastle, Easter Road and Aberdeen would be my preference.  Then we could get to work bulldozing Hampden and entirely redesigning the Stadium and surrounding areas, improving the infrastructure, the efficiency of it of how the infrastructure works so it benefits everybody and giving us the best possible National Stadium.  Unfortunately that would require long term planning and, more importantly, a fair chunk of cash.

Sadly football is no longer a physical game and the lad in question was definitely not a big physical centre half. He was a light weight.

Finding fun in others physical pain is just a wee bit sad.

Hopefully Gerrard sticks a printed copy of the interview up in the dressing room and a proper drubbing is handed out. Now that would be funny.

True, the physical side is becoming less and less in Scotland.

I don't think he's making light of the injury rather than the reaction of the player afterwards.  To put it in context;  It's conveniently forgotten about that Cardoso did the very same to Moult in the same game.  Moult dusted himself off, scored 2 goals, won us the game and we played in a cup final.  Cardoso moaned about his wee bump to anyone who would listen instead and has eventually ended up back in obscurity in Portugal.

I applaud Gerrard's comments today regarding it.  It's a daft situation that has escalated beyond all reasonable control with him accepting an apology, having a private discussion with our gaffer (who has given Pete a dressing down by all accounts) and advising everyone to move on.

I expect Rangers to win comfortably on Sunday(as they should do given their outlay on players) as we aren't at the races at all this season with our starting XI not defined by any means, injuries and out of form players, but we can always pull a result out the bag against anyone at Fir Park.

Most of your post is whataboutery.

It was a stupid and classless thing to say, especially for a club captain.

It doesn't require anything other than sensible folk to be embarrassed for him.

Anyone who revels in another's death is absolute filth and is best blocked and reported on social media.

Hardly whataboutery.  I did state it was unwise and ill advised of him to say it regardless of context so I'm not exactly backing Hartley in this instance. I think issuing an apology is the right thing to do, but not saying it in the first place would've been better for all concerned. The faux outrage is quite something though and gives an interesting insight to the extremely warped mind set of some Rangers fans.

He'll regret what he said for a long time if Rangers beat Motherwell on Sunday and be suitably embarrassed about it if that happens.  I don't think anyone else needs to be embarrassed for him.

Big, bruising defenders greetin' about broken noses would have their predecessors at Ibrox laughing as well.

I listened to the interview. He meant it was funny that the guy was crying because of a broken nose.

To be fair, a grown man crying and moaning because he has a broken nose is quite funny.   It isn't the serious, nee career threatening injury Rangers fans are making it out to be.   Could you imagine the grief a rugby player would get if he did that?

I've had my nose broken 7 times and 2 corrective surgeries and whilst it was an inconvenience,  I can't recall crying about it or not finishing the games(Rugby/Football) they happened in.

It's unwise to make any such comments in Scotland, in jest or otherwise, especially with a game against the Rangers or Celtic on the horizon and Hartley should have been well aware of that.  He should know by the now that the unhinged loonballs who are perpetually offended by everything will pounce on any negative comment.  Ill advised, but not worthy of the compliance officer looking into it.

Good to see the many well wishers he has on Twitter and the Rangers fans still revelling in Phil O'Donnell's death...

Gilmour will be Scotland captain by time he's 20.

Bold prediction.  I think the lad is a smashing player, but I am concerned about how clear his route to the first team is at Chelsea.  Sarri does have a decent record with youth players from his recent jobs at Empoli and slightly less so at Napoli.

Baffled as to how an off the ball kick, whether it hits or not, can be anything but a red.

It's the intention that's the crime, surely. 🤔

Surely by the definition of violent conduct; Morelos is guilty of it?

Reading the SFA statement, the downgrading of the red to yellow and subsequent explanation merely reiterates that it's violent conduct.   "Recklessly kicking or attempting to kick an opponent"

Do not put a penny on. Not a chance this season unless a good few signings magically happen and they won’t.

They've already made 3 very good signings, with Bamford set to be announced this week.

Radrizzani is a very switched on and considerably wealthy owner who has set about changing the whole structure of the Club. Convincing Bielsa to become head coach is some coup.   One thing that Leeds have been doing very well recently in comparison with a lot of other Championship clubs is managing budgets.  The wages to turnover % is one of the lowest in the league.  A centre half is an absolute necessity though, no team that has to play Liam Cooper will get anywhere.

  12. McBurnie is dung, Archer has had a nightmare.  We have no style of play whatsoever under McLeish other than occasionally lumping long balls up to guys who can't hold it up and it's something that probably won't change in the near future.
